More signs of the Apocalypse :

    (1) The good, the bad, and the ugly :

US Border Patrol agent Jesus E. Diaz Jr has been sentenced to two years in prison for handcuffing a teenage Mexican drug smuggler who resisted arrest. The conviction was based on the testimony of drug smugglers, whose testimony was directly contradicted by Diaz’s fellow Border Patrol agents. The prosecution was launched at the behest of the Mexican government. The drug smuggler, who was uninjured, was granted immunity in return for his testimony against his arresting officer. The DHS IG and ICE Office of Professional Responsibility had investigated the arrest and cleared agent Diaz of any wrongdoing. However, a year later the Internal Affairs Division at Customs and Border Protection ruled against Diaz, and the US Attorney for Western District of Texas took up the prosecution. This is the same office that prosecuted agents Ramos and Compean.

    (2) Look Ma, no Dong!

Southern California Immigration Consultants Arrested for Asylum Fraud (Los Angeles, CA)

Haoren Ma, the owner of a Los Angeles-area immigration consulting firm, New Arrival Immigration Service, and an employee, Minghan Dong, were charged in Federal district court with immigration benefit fraud. According to law enforcement authorities, Messrs. Ma and Dong charged alien clients fees of $3,500 to $6,500 each to prepare and file asylum applications which presented phony claims of persecution on account of Christian religious beliefs. The defendants provided clients with detailed written material and audio tapes on Christianity to help them prepare for their asylum interviews. Law enforcement sources estimate that the pair may have been involved in filing as many as 800 fraudulent asylum applications on behalf of Chinese nationals.

    (3) Turning red States blue :

Federal officials Shut Down Major Immigration Fraud Scheme (New York, NY)

Preet Bharara, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced the indictment of 27 persons for operating a long-running (1996-2009) immigration fraud conspiracy that involved over 25,000 falsified applications for US employment visas and that generated millions of dollars in criminal revenues. The conspiracy was carried out through the Manhattan law office of Earl Seth David, a/k/a Rabbi Avraham David, who was identified by law enforcement authorities as the ringleader of the scheme. Mr David was arrested in Canada after fleeing New York. According to court documents, Mr David and ten employees used fabricated documents, including fake pay stubs, tax returns, and employment experience letters purporting to show that the aliens possessed special employment skills, as well as phony employment sponsors to apply for and obtain Department of Labor certification for alien clients. The clients paid fees up to $30,000 each to obtain the certifications, which they in turn used to secure employment-based visas. In addition to Mr David and his employees, the scheme involved at last ten persons who, in exchange for money, falsely represented that they were sponsoring the aliens for employment in their shell companies, several accountants who created fake tax returns for the fictitious sponsoring companies, and a corrupt Department of Labor employee who participated in the conspiracy by ensuring that the fraudulent applications were granted. Defendants are charged with immigration fraud, false statements, and conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud. Mr David was also charged with money laundering.

Those indicted in the conspiracy included :

Attorneys : David Earl Seth and Maritza Diaz.

Law firm employees : Ali Gomaa, Gulay Cibik, Rafael Brodjik, Alexandra Urbanek, David Grynsztajn, Leo Teitelbaum, Abdulbassit Choudary, Robert Salamon, and Mir Hussain

Sponsors : Abraham Flam, Aryea Yehuda Flohr, Andre Herbst, Nathan Schwartz, Harold Tishler, Chaim Walter, Mayer Weber, Janine Sitao, Deadma Deldoc, and Sariel Sabale.

Accountants : Angelica Yonayev, David Vago, and Mohamed Saleem.

Dept. of Labor employee : John A. Nolan.

Hey, is America a great country or what?!

Obama Miracle is White House Free of Scandal
    By Jonathan Alter Oct 28, 2011 8:45 AM GMT+0900

Where to even begin refuting the stupidity of this article? It’s easy, but also too much effort to recount how wrong it is.

President Barack Obama goes into the 2012 with a weak economy that may doom his reelection. But he has one asset that hasn’t received much attention: He’s honest.

All those lies and broken campaign promises, the pay-offs and arm twisting of the healthcare bill = honesty. He was “honest” about Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers?

Even so, the president’s Teflon is intriguing. How did we end up in such a scandal-less state? After investigating the question for a recent Washington Monthly article, I’ve been developing some theories.

There’s only 1 theory: the media doesn’t want to report it. It took a British newspaper to find Aunt Zeituni Onyango. Which, for any Republican, would have been a huge scandal. Solyndra, Black Panther intimidation case, fast & furious, healthcare pay-off scam, stimulus 1’s fraud / waste / abuse, birth certificate took 2.5 years to find, Michelle Obama mysteriously gave up her law license, Fannie / Freddie handouts to minority high-risk borrowers, firing IG Gerald Walpin who investigated Obama buddy Kevin Johnson, take over of GM and screwing the share holders, nationalizing health and student loans, suing states over immigration….TONS of scandals to look at.

But the White House’s intense focus on scandal prevention has had mixed results. The almost proctological vetting process has ended up wounding Obama as much as prospective nominees.

Really? Did they vett Van Jones? The unapologetic communist. Geitner who didn’t pay his taxes, Tom Dash-hole who also didn’t pay his taxes. Obama didn’t even vett himself with his birth certificate, his college trip to Pak-ee-stahn when he was in college? Who in the heck goes to Pak-ee-stahn—ever? What visa did he use to go there? U.S. citizens were banned from traveling there. Harvard Law Review –non publication of any sort, college grades etc. How about Uncle Omar?

Ugh, the article goes on and on like this. It’s as though the writer just arrived from space after 3 years and doesn’t know what he is talking about.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

“It’s as though the writer just arrived from space after 3 years and doesn’t know what he is talking about.”

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

The willful ignorance and lack of suspicion for captain zero is staggering. From little Chrissy’s leg tingle to Holder’s “Don’t know nuttin’ ” attitude and all through the democrat party, like Rush has hammered relentlessly this year: “Democrats lie”.

Vetting? For a democrat from it’s own beloved and owned media complex? You’d do better to demand that a Cardinals fan diss the home team, or that trees grow away from the sun.

It is frustrating. It’s also amoral. By that I mean, since those who report the news are such religious relativists, as they are with everything else, they don’t figure they’re doing anything wrong by not questioning the highly questionable actions of the current government….but holding conservatives to a completely different standard. By not having any standard at all, they can claim immunity from any moral prosecution of failing to represent the truth. It’s the truth merely as they want to see it, which as any conservative will tell you, comes with a huge set of problems.

They reject the very premise the nation was founded upon and thus, seek something superior. They’ve yet to find it but they continue to condemn it, even when they need the very system they despise to uphold the rights to which they are entitled.

So at the end of the day, their brain is filled with moral relativism where a republican who decides to protect the American people by taking the war to the terrorists instead of them coming and clobbering us, is damnable and worthy of death threats, while a president who’s a thug; Acts like a thug; Talks like a thug and has thug friends and goes out and defies his own decree that terrorists MUST be read their Miranda rights, is perfectly ok.

This kind of relativism has yet to dawn on them that it’s all unworkable. They have no blueprint…save for the Constitution itself and these self-same crusaders for “justice” in the 1960’s who demanded that the government adhere to the Constitution, are now finding they don’t particularly care for that document because you have to hold both goose and gander to it. A liberal is the first person who will say, “There ought to be a law” but that same liberal will also be the first to say that law doesn’t apply to them.

    • Petronius says:

The real scandal is that there are too many scandals to list.

Obama: If We Lose in 2012, Government Will Tell People ‘You’re on Your Own’

At a million-dollar San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America.
“The one thing that we absolutely know for sure is that if we don’t work even harder than we did in 2008, then we’re going to have a government that tells the American people, ‘you are on your own,’” Obama told a crowd of 200 donors over lunch at the W Hotel.
“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own,” he said. “That’s not the America I believe in. It’s not the America you believe in.”

    Self-reliant Americans?!? What’s the world coming to…?
To give the Devil his due, at least he’s being honest for once:

    “That’s not the America I believe in…”

    Ya think?

  4. Mithrandir says:

[WARNING] -all those people who we have made dependent upon government, won’t have a sensitive ear if I lose in 2012. All of you who WANT SOMETHING from the gov’t will be denied if I lose, so keep the access door open if you want something.

It’s like my parents when I moved out, and had to choose between their socialism and my independence.
“You will have to pay your own rent you know, and make your own food too!”
    ~”Wow, great……sounds fun!”
“You will have to clean your own apartment, no one is going to do it for you.”
~”Sweet! I can clean or not clean whenever I want!”

Sometimes, people have to be forced off the plantation, and that is: slave mentality thinking. The slaves are given freedom, but then come back whining and beggaring for housing, a job, free food, clothing,–everything! Why not just stay on the communist plantation in the first place?

Muslim group expected to protest Nov. 11 ceremonies
    By QMI Agency

An extremist Muslim group that burned poppies during Remembrance Day ceremonies in England last year is planning another protest for Nov. 11.

The group Muslims Against Crusades will not observe the minute of silence at the annual services to remember fallen soldiers.

The group has a countdown on its website and a QR code reveals the date 11/11/11.

On its Twitter account, the group says the protest will be called Hell for Heroes.

I know it’s far too much to hope that angry Britons will man up, rise up and bitch slap these ignorant wretches right into the middle of next week.
But it’s nice to dream. And it beats watching helplessly as England draws ever farther away from their “finest hour”.

    • Petronius says:

So DW, I guess you’re not fully on board with that cultural enrichment and diversity-is-our-strength theory?

    • jobeth says:

As much as I love the Brits…(even married one)…it will only be in your dreams that they would stand up to these muslims.

First they are too polite (at least the ones that are old enough to remember being raised with manners), or more likely intimidated and try to avoid unpleasantness, second, they have bought into the ‘diversity’ far too deeply for far too long.

Right now they are politely removing sticker-ed signs in the Tower Hamlets of East London that the muslims keep sticking up on poles warning all women must be veiled and everyone must follow sharia if they are in that area. Not to mention they have allowed Sharia into their courts in some places.

My ‘unseeing’ ( not blind) bro in law refuses to believe that the muslims will ever take over. HUH???
      They already have.

So don’t look for a rising up of the Brits. That grit got brainwashed out of them immediately after WWII with all the progressive crap they have had to deal with since then.

Ol’ Winston must be spinning right now.

How in the world did I get one of the few remaining truly conservative Brits left? Lucky I guess, especially since he’s the only one in his family that is a conservative and stands with us yank conservatives wholeheartedly. He was like this even before he came over. Strange…

None of this is to take anything from those brave Brits that have fought along side us in the middle east. I’m speaking of the typical home front civilian Brit. This ain’t their daddy’s Briton anymore.

    • DW says:

      I know…I know…sigh…

It’s just that, ten days from today I’m going to be at one of these services and I’m going to be trying my level best to remain dry-eyed while the piper plays The Lament (my track record in that regard is not good).
I can’t even fathom the idea of people deliberately disrupting those services much less doing so with impunity.

Marshals ordered to seize Righthaven assets
    By Steve Green

Las Vegas copyright infringement lawsuit filer Righthaven LLC’s financial problems grew Tuesday when the federal court in Las Vegas commanded the U.S. Marshals Service to seize more than $63,000 in Righthaven assets to satisfy a creditor’s judgment and costs.

Lance Wilson, clerk of the court, signed a writ of execution requested by attorneys for Wayne Hoehn, who was sued for copyright infringement by Righthaven — but then defeated Righthaven in court when his case was dismissed this summer.

Righthaven since March 2010 has filed 275 lawsuits against websites, bloggers and message board posters claiming they infringed on material from the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Denver Post by posting their content online without authorization.

I know many S&Lers won’t shed any tears over this. It seems these serial-abusers of the courts finally ended up on the losing end of a judgment and don’t want to pay up. Some vindication for you, Steve.
