Mr. Magoo, Wolf Blitzer of CNN totally impressed and blown away on his trip to North Korea:

The left just can’t bring themselves to criticize communist dictatorships, no matter how much the party covers up for all their deficiencies, the left buys it hook, line, and sinker.

60 years ago, South Koreans were living in holes in the ground, begging U.S. soldiers for candy. Now, they are car manufacturers, have the fastest internet on earth, L.G. and Samsung compete and/or dominate their rival Sony, a Japanese company on a whole range of electronic products. They rank high in Olympic medals despite being 1/2 of a country, and almost won the world baseball championships last year. The left……says nothing about their capitalistic gain, and their dedication to work and personal responsibility.

Wolf Blitzer is carefully escorted around North Korea, and shown how great the party and their families are doing in choreographed episodes. Is flabbergasted by the miles of fruit trees that no one can see, and a giant stone tower dedicated to communism, that may be taller than the Washington Monument! –Wow, can you believe such things exist!? North Korea got those 2 things in 60 years……well done!

I have always said it – when some liberal blathers to me about the ‘never-ending war’ bs – Look at Germany & Japan compared to Vietnam – The US presence helped stabilize and advance the countries way beyond what abandonment, anti-‘imperialism’ (NOT as we are not running the countries) and ‘isolationism’ ever have.

And the Left fails to acknowledge the aggressive actions NoKo has perpetrated quite regularly upon the South & US Troops stationed there.

The denial of death, destruction, poverty and absolute lies – are what keep War, killing and hate alive – doesn’t that make them Treasonous ( 1. Violation of allegiance toward one’s country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one’s country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. )?

    • ptat says:

what a spectacular dim wit! “Golly gee, look at me Ma–I’m in North Korea! It’s really neat-o and the people are SWELL!”

    • beautyofreason says:

      I agree wardmama.

It’s common for liberals to bash the West on a regular basis due to the wrongs of 17th to mid-twentieth century Western colonialism.

But it’s far worse to let bad ideas simmer, given the alternative of progress.

Look at the advances that Japan made after the second World War in furthering their own economy, industry, education, equality of men and women under the law, etc. after they gave up their war against various countries in the world and were influenced by the United States. Compare India, a predominantly non-Muslim country that is growing industrially, to Pakistan, an Islamic hell hole erupting in civil war. Indians and Pakistanis are from the same people, but one country is clearly going places while the other one is sinking. But India used to be a land of starving people and Hindu extremists. Imagine what would have happened if the British hadn’t stopped the practice of burning widows alive in the 19th century. And in some cases the West didn’t go far enough. Imagine what would have happened if Western colonialists had completely stamped out shariah law and Wahhabism, reducing them to the vestiges of a primitive past – instead of just building their oil pipelines in Saudi Arabia and allowing their extremism to simmer.

Liberals are fools for siding with our country’s enemies (most often rogue dictators) in order to appear compassionate or anti-imperialist. Imperialism isn’t actually a bad thing if the culture is superior in areas like tolerance and human rights. I have a female Arab ancestor from the nineteenth century who left the Middle East behind. Would I, her descendant, prefer to live in a place that discriminates against women, mutilates them, treats them like children who cannot pick out their clothes? Or would I rather live in a country where I know that I have the same rights as a man under the law? America wins again. Those who don’t believe America is an exceptional place are turning a blind eye to lesser governments.

  2. I wonder if there are college classes that one must take on how to be a complete and total tool.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Some people are so deeply and voluntarily indoctrinated that they refuse to see the obvious. They cannot acknowledge that the US has been a bastion of freedom when they “see so much unfairness” everywhere. But they discount the reasons for that “unfairness” and instead listen to those who tell them it’s because our system is so unfair. They then set their hearts on a manufactured, blissful utopia and cheerfully and naively allow the communists in the world to play them like a cheap horn. While the “journalist” congratulates himself on exposing the “real” Norks, they ignorantly yet passionately believe that what they’ve been shown is the truth. Oddly, they see “a vast right-wing conspiracy” in every feature of our free society. There are none so blind….

Cuba is great, and their health care is the best ever!
Communism’s 100 million death toll due to starvation, murder, disease goes unreported.
Hitler blamed, never his socialism, for W.W.II.
Venezuela, never a bad comment about them.
North Korea, they have miles of fruit trees! -Whoa!
      China’s body count goes unreported.

The left will get F.B.I. reports, dig through people’s garbage, make up sources to get a story, but can’t put down their pom-pons long enough to do any kind of real reporting on their heroes. They can’t even find Aunt Zeituni living illegally in Boston, a British paper had to uncover that gem.

AP: Daughter apparently slain before she can kill
Father admits killing young woman who was believed to be recruited by al-Qaida as a suicide bomber

By Rebecca Santana Dec. 25, 2010

    BAGHDAD -….

The killing of Shahlaa al-Anbaky, reported by police Friday, appeared to be from an unusual melding of motives — part to defend the family honor, part to prevent her from joining the militants…

Al-Qaida has been recruiting women for suicide attacks because they can pass police checkpoints more easily than men by concealing explosives under an abaya, a loose, black cloak that conservative Muslim women wear.

A Diyala police spokesman, Maj. Ghalib al-Karkhi, said security forces had information the young woman had ties to al-Qaida and raided her father’s home Thursday. When questioned by police, the father, Najim al-Anbaky, told police he killed his daughter a month earlier because he found out she intended to blow herself up in a suicide attack for al-Qaida.

The father, described by authorities as a small-time trader of chickens and sheep, led police to her grave in the backyard. The woman had been strangled and then her throat cut for good measure, al-Karkhi said.

… Police records indicated that Najim al-Anbaky killed one of his sisters in 1984 in what was described as an honor killing, the official said.

…, women can get past security checkpoints because there are rarely enough women police officers to inspect every woman passing by.

Obama administration trading with black-listed countries through loopholes

BBC : US sanctions policy ‘riddled with loopholes’
    Dec 4 2010

Stuart Eizenstat, a deputy treasury secretary in the Clinton era, told the BBC World Service that such loopholes were created by lobbying groups.

A New York Times report found evidence of US firms trading legally with blacklisted countries such as Iran.

Loopholes and exemptions were exploited in a trade worth billions of dollars.

An office of the US treasury department granted nearly 10,000 licenses for deals involving blacklisted countries over the past decade, the newspaper said.

    * Permission for a US firm to bid on a pipeline job that would have helped Iran sell natural gas to Europe, even though the US opposes such projects

    * Permission for several US firms to trade with foreign companies believed to be involved in terrorism or weapons proliferation

Stuart A Levey, the Obama administration’s point man on sanctions, responded by saying that to focus on the exceptions missed “the forest for the trees”.

Afghanistan in charge of ongoing 3 months investigation in to finding U.S.donated medicine.

Washington Post: AP: the Afghanistan to look into missing medicine
    Dec 26 2010
By Rahim Faiez and Patrick Quinn.

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Afghanistan Defense Ministry said Sunday it will investigate missing U.S.-donated medicines and pharmaceutical supplies meant for its army and police.

A statement said that the ministry will asses[sic] and investigate how much is missing from the $42 million worth of medical goods the U.S. has donated this year.

… Surgeon General Ahmad Zia Yaftali had been removed from his post as part of the inquiry. Three officials from the country’s top medical facility, Dawood National Military Hospital in Kabul, were fired, he said then.

… U.S. officials say they do not account for the supplies after delivering them to the Afghans.

Speaking to the AP last week, Yaftali denied the accusations of corruption, saying medicines disappeared before making it to his department and have shown up in pharmacies. He suggested contractors providing the supplies could be to blame, along with U.S. advisers who he said help make the contracts.

Yaftali told reporters that he did not yet have a new post but was still on the active reserve list waiting for a new appointment.

Just in time for the “season for giving” is this little item from the Chicago Tribune:

December 23, 2010|By Rick Pearson and Ray Gibson, Tribune reporters
Mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel and his wife made nearly $2 million over the last five years and paid more than $300,000 in federal taxes, according to copies of federal income tax returns released by his campaign Thursday.

Now is that just wonderful, what a paragon of selflessness virtue….. that comes out to a whopping 15% Oh the wonderfulness of our democrap leaders!! the same bunch who think that 35% plus in taxation on income would be minimal for anyone earning over 250k a year, not to mention the death tax….. but of course somebody has to pay…just so it isn’t them.
I guess that Rahm just doesn’t know that the IRS will accept checks for any amount to be applied to the tax base for anyone who thinks that they have underpaid and not contributed “their fair share”.
And of course only the cynical would think that the timing of the information over the holiday “slow news period” would be intentional.

BBC: Bombay Stock Exchange launches Islamic index

    Dec 27 2010

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in the Indian city of Mumbai has launched a new index which consists of companies that meet the Islamic legal code.

Studies have found that most Muslims in India are excluded from the country’s formal financial sector.

That is because Islamic law does not allow investment in companies that sell goods like alcohol, tobacco or weapons.

All Muslim countries of the Middle East and Pakistan put together do not have as many listed Sharia-compliant stocks as are available on the BSE”

Piano man to diaper man: Elton John becomes a dad
    From the AP: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101228/ap_en_mu/us_people_elton_john

“Zachary (baby’s name) is 62-year-old John’s first child with the 48-year-old Furnish (Elton’s “husband/wife”). The couple married in 2005.”

HUZZAH FOR THEM! Nothing is more fun for a 5 year old child than to play with his 67 year old father! And young impressionable boys LOVE to take their 2 flaming gay dads to: Boy Scout Jamorees, little league baseball games, father-father-son picnics, YMCA games, Folsom Street Fair days…. http://www.folsomstreetfair.com/photos/

Yep, it’s all about the kids! Elderly gay people having children is not selfish at all is it? And to remind all you ‘bigots’ out there, “There aren’t any studies that show children of gay couples are any worse off than children from heterosexual couples!” Because none have ever been funded and done!….wonder why that is?

      4. And now, everybody’s favorite queer, Elton John, has a mini-me. Isn’t that special.

You leave little left to say, Mith!

    • hushpuppy says:

Mithrandir – excellent articles you’ve provided – and right on point. I’ve an article for you to look at from the British Daily Mail that was written by a homosexual. It’s worth the read:

“Why I’m repelled by Elton and his partner’s grotesque selfishness:

…But those rules — honed over thousands of years — do matter.

And Rule Number One is that, by and large, a child needs a loving mother and father.

Rule Number Two is that a child needs to know where he or she comes from and what their genetic identity is. Two stories in the Mail this week highlight these truths.

There was a survey published yesterday from the Prince’s Trust, which concluded that young men with no male role models in their lives, and women without a mother figure, are hugely disadvantaged in life. ”

  14. Rusty Shackleford says:

“There aren’t any studies that show children of gay couples are any worse off than children from heterosexual couples!”

Or any better, for that matter. If the criteria is “who makes the child come out the worse” then there you have it.

As to your second point, the gay want desperately to redefine “normal’ so that they don’t loathe themselves. But, thought experiment time, let’s say it’s far in the future and heterosexuality has been banned 200 years ago and now gay is the law of the land. Let’s say it’s due to the perceived overpopulating of the world and it’s to save the earth…just to make it interesting.

Will the humans who live this way then stop bitching and moaning? Along with the expected color-clash arguments, no. They will still find themselves repulsive and take it out on others who don’t fit their idea of what’s best. Years ago, as I read various biographies and autobiographies by prominent movers and shakers of the world, often of humble beginnings themselves, I was struck by the contentment they espoused; That they felt they had contributed and that they could leave the earth knowing they had done their best, made some mistakes, learned from them and moved on.

I see none of that from our current members of the human race. At least, not from those in the limelight. I do run into it now and again but it’s rare. Indeed, the “me” generation has many faces and right now, it’s all about getting power and taking care of oneself.

    • Actually, there are studies which show children raised by homosexuals to be worse off than those raised by heterosexual couples. Several that come to mind are by Walter Schumm, a Kansas State University family studies professor, and another by Kenneth Zucker, Ph.D. and Susan Bradley, M.D.

Simply put, the premise of some of these studies is that since parents influence so much of their child’s social and intellectual development, why would they not be detrimental to a child’s development when that child is immersed in what many societies view as a perverse, self-destructive and mal-adapted sexual union?

Especially when domestic violence in homosexual households is at three times the rate as in heterosexual households.

The conclusion seems to be that many of these kids raised by homosexuals suffer from gender identity disorders of their own, low self-esteem, and attachment issues. This appears to affect boys raised by males more than girls raised by women, perhaps because women are more verbal and supportive as a group.

As adolescents, these kids engage in anti-social behavior, abuse drugs and experiment more with risky sexual scenarios than adolescents from ‘normal’ families – presumably because life choices appear to them as more open ended and not restrained by any sort of traditional convictions or morals concerning right or wrong.

I haven’t seen any data correlating suicide rates among these types of kids, but it might be reasonable to find them high on the list.

Does any of this exonerate the lousy heterosexual parents raising lousy kids? Nope. It all comes down to percentages and which group falls into the high risk categories more frequently and severely.

    • proreason says:

It’s common sense. Children can’t help but be heavily influenced by the people who raise them.

If anybody thinks homosexuals are just as happy and normal as heterosexuals, they are seriously brainwashed. Homosexuals die younger, have higher suicide rates, and in many cases live desperate lives.

It’s a major reason why homosexuality shouldn’t be encouraged. The whole movement to make it “normal” is crazy. Hey, let’s make Aids normal gang! Nothing inherently wrong with an immune deficiency disease, is there? Let’s not stigmatize that.

How many people in their heart of hearts are geniunely neutral about the sexualy of their children or any loved one. The truth is very few, including very few homosexuals.

Elton John is a classic. His musical genius is irrelevant. His life has been a life of misery. Now he wants to pass it on to an innocent child. What insanity. Things are getting even crazier.

    • Mithrandir says:

What you probably have not read from medical journals:

►Top category for Aids is MSM, men having sex with men.
►Second, is gay men sharing needles.
►3rd or 4th is women having sex with bi-sexual men.

Rampant drug abuse, b/c gay people have to get into a frame of mind to engage in their sexual activities.
“POZ” parties, in which HIV positive men spread the disease to a willing HIV negative gay man. Gay singer Andy Bell, said having HIV was a touchstone of being gay: http://www.thefreelibrary.com/I+ALWAYS+WANTED+TO+BE+HIV%3B+Illness+part+of+being+gay,+says+singer.-a0127525582

      ►High suicide rates.
►Gays report having 1000s of lifetime lovers.
►Gays don’t use condoms because they want to feel close to their partner. “I don’t want to make love in a bag!”

►Hepatitis is so rampant, doctors can’t keep up with it, along with dozens of other transmittable diseases.
►DSM removed homosexuality from list of medical disorders, but still lists G.I.D.-gender identity disorder, also diagnosing gays as narcissistic, and with oppositional defiant disorder.

►Gays report being excited and empowered by anonymous sex in bath houses, or public restrooms.
►Gay people believe nothing is their fault, it is “societies fault.”–another psychological disorder.

Sounds like a winner raising kids doesn’t it?

    • tranquil.night says:

All these facts and logic miss the point. It’s about telling society they don’t have the right judge eachother’s beliefs and behavior because ultimately such social issues and morality are going to be defined and controlled by government. Just more business as usual. The same old game of power, and oh how they have such more success on this front than others is enough to fill me with despair.

One minute we’re being dumped on as haters for not agreeing to a truce on social issues – which we really already had. The next minute our own guys are signing on to Liberal social policy. Now we’re being lectured about why sexual identity interest groups deserve a seat at CPAC next to isolationists and those folks that don’t believe in God but certainly the possibility of Atlantis and that aliens built the pyramids.

Hasn’t the American identity suffered enough at this point? Can there not be a group of people in this country that represents the value system that personal responsibility is an obligation to the gift of freedom, i.e. true Americanism? No, of course there can’t be, because people who live by it are so wildly successful and (most importantly) FREE that the sheer aura of their happiness is evident without having to talk to them, and it can make insecure people very uncomfortable, and it certainly is a threat to the safety of Liberal Feudal Collectivism. But it’s especially irritating to those who are accustomed to looking at life as a burden, and in the absence of a true foundation cling to whatever banner that fancies their whim.

A conversation with a true Conservative is enough for any self-involved dolt to stop and wonder why he or she can’t find that kind of liberty and tranquility in life. Their soul may have a whim, but ultimately they’re rudderless.

    • canary says:

Homosexual and bisexuals #1 goal is to convert more & more people into becoming gay. Period.

For years and years they’ve claimed ratios of 1 out of 5 are gay. Strange when the ration of boys who will be molested just went from 1 out of 5, to now a figure of 1 out of 4.

Gays have spun the excuse they were born gay and had no choose, to their new tactic: People should choose which ever they want to be, to include encouraging everyone they can that being bi-sexual allows you have the best of both worlds.

It is a fact, that children of homosexuals are more apt to become themselves for several common sense reasons.
They learn what they are taught.
They copy their main role models
They want their mommies & daddies approval, which increases homosexuals
They are raised in a biased towards gay education of morals.
They are lectured by gay parents if a the child is teased by other children. They learn to defend their parents who care for them.
Then there is the fact that most molestations are by family or family friends. Mommy’s boyfriend
molests mommy’s son, and he thinks it’s normal. So, it’s easier for the young boy to slip into a gay relationship when older.
Daddy’s son get’s molested by one of daddies boyfriends, so it’s even more likely the boy will slip into gay relationships.
Just a girls molested often turn to acting out sexually, a sad symptom of molestation. Even a young girl who is damaged, scared, for some reason is more likely to turn into a prostitute.
I came across reading that even muslims believe that boys are more apt to become gay to do being molested by men while they are younger. You can’t imagine the sexual abuse that goes on in the muslim religion because of the enforcement of purity until marriage. They are such hypocrites.
( can’t you just imagine fowl mouthed what nuts like Rosie O’Donnell must tell their adopted children)

We have taught such tolerance in society for gay people, given them so much respect, that children in grade school are having gay relationships. We all hear the parent suing the schools because a boy kissed their daughter in kindergarten. Try complaining 9 year old girls keep kissing and making out of recess, and a teacher wouldn’t dare stop them.

Gay people are sooo stupid. They pretend they can’t tell anyone, but when have they ever really hid it. And who has really cared. Isolated incidents of gays getting beat up by red necks, are no different than red necks that will beat up anyone, or rape & murder a child. Gay’s need to quit playing the victim and get over it. It’s important for everyone to speak very frank with children. Tell them graphically why they are more apt to get AIDs. Tell bi-sexual youth trying to figure out their identity that they are more apt to get AIDS to because of the changing of partners.

It was the Homosexuals that were mostly getting AIDS and they want it spread to pressure for a cure.

Did you know Delaware is a big importer of vegetables from foreign countries with bad water, and they have the highest rate of AIDS right now. The government isn’t even regulating food anymore.
Try and find statistics on 2009-2010 on food imports. No transparency or record keeping.
The state of Delaware distributes more of this food under other states as distributors (distributers are not growers) , but if people had any idea how much food comes from Mexico, South American Countries, China, yet who does Obama want to bankrupt? U.S. Farmers. Except for minority farmers. Can you imagine the water & sewage these countries use to grow the vegetables and fruits. Delaware is even putting bi-products not listed as fillers.
I guess vp Joe Biden (DE) is benefiting over this imported produce going through his state.

What a hoot the new law Obama signed on amounts of fruit and vegetables that schools must provide for our children. No regulations from it all coming from Mexico, China, Cuba. Probably has human remain bi-products.

“Disturbing paint can mean anything from weatherization (most cities are taking federal stimulus money for this activity), and even replacing a component. Those that get tax breaks on new economy saving air-conditioning and heating, may be surprised some day. I’m guessing the inclusion of using a needle gun, means using a staple gun.

Owning a home or a car in America is the biggest sucker-punch the government can lay on you.

You have no reasonable right to privacy in your OWN CAR on the roads you pay for. You need to pay for gasoline, at the price they designate, and will not lower. You are stuck paying for higher and higher taxes and registration fees. Moving violations are used to balance budgets.

The home: you are a slave to the public unions: the schools, police and fire. They will property-tax you out of your home even though you don’t have kids, or haven’t had school-aged kids for decades! As their pay automatically goes up year after year, your salary doesn’t. Sell and move away in fear, or have it confiscated out from under you.

      What freedom?!

The auto regulations Obama wants are stricter than the other United Nations. Makes you afraid to buy a car. And even cars that get 40 miles to an hour on fuel, are as small as electric cars. And it’s not just the milage. There’s a EPA manuscript of codes and numbers created for all the things cars have to meet. It will be just like asking a business to drill a hole.
People will take their cars to the shop for work, and the car gestapo will tell them, we can’t get your car running until you convert your gas tank, change this code 96 part to code 69 YA.

O’Donnell: Spending accusations are ‘thug’ tactics

    By Ben Evans, Associated Press
    December 30, 2010

BALTIMORE – Failed U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell said Thursday that accusations she misspent campaign funds are politically motivated and stoked by disgruntled former campaign workers.

The Delaware Republican appeared on several network morning shows to defend herself a day after The Associated Press reported federal authorities have launched a criminal probe to determine whether she broke the law by using campaign money to pay personal expenses. …

O’Donnell, the tea party favorite who scored a surprise primary victory before losing in the general election, suggested the accusations are driven by her political opponents on the right and left, including Joe Biden. …

The case, which has been assigned to two federal prosecutors and two FBI agents in Delaware, has not been brought before a grand jury. …

At least two former campaign workers have alleged that she routinely used political contributions to pay personal expenses including her rent as she ran for the Senate three consecutive times, starting in 2006. She acknowledged in a newspaper interview in March that she paid part of her rent with campaign money, arguing that her house doubled as a campaign headquarters.

Federal law prohibits candidates from spending campaign money for personal benefit. FEC rules state that this prohibition applies to the use of campaign money for a candidate’s mortgage or rent “even if part of the residence is being used by the campaign,” although O’Donnell’s campaign maintained that it was told otherwise by someone at the agency. …

O’Donnell, who announced just after Election Day that she had signed a book deal, hasn’t held a full-time job in years and has struggled to explain how she makes a living.

This is the same crap the libs (via Soros & Obama) pulled on Sarah Palin, remember? They tried to discredit her by saying she bought $150,000 in clothes with campaign money.

Obama & Soros, using the same methods kept suing her and causing her problems that she had racked up half a million dollars in legal bills and it was distracting her from doing her job as Governor. So she resigned so as not to be a drain on Alaskans.

She tackled her accusers like a Mama Grizzly and when the dust settled all but one accusation was thrown out of Court. The last remaining accusation was finally settled too after some time.

But as Rush has always said ‘The left will always tell you who they’re afraid of.’ And now it’s McDonnell’s turn in the spotlight.

However just as Palin turned it all around and is the successful force to be reckoned with, so too till McDonnell.

As for the drive by media – too bad they don’t attack Obama’s lack of records, documentation, Passport and Certificate of Live Birth with the same zeal.

Obama’s Hawain vacation ONLY cost $1,474,000.

Let’s see. The average income per household in the US is about $52,200 per yr – taxed at 15% that’s $7,800.00

In other words 190 American tax payers had to work all year for Barry’s little get away. And, get this, HE’S DECIDED TO STAY AN EXTRA DAY!!! Bring in the Peasants!

So next year when you hear a beltway insider say it’s only a billion dollars (128,250 US tax payers) & so on, REMEMBER WHERE YOU PUT YOUR TORCH & PITCHFORK!

Attack on Marine at Florida Theater Comes Months After Brother’s Death at Navy Hospital
    From Foxnews: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/12/30/family-marine-attacked-florida-teenagers-seeks-action-drug-overdose/?test=latestnews

Federico Freire, a 28-year-old Marine, and his wife, Kalyn, were attacked Saturday by a mob of unruly teenagers after the couple asked the group to be quiet during a movie at a Bradenton, Fla., cinema, as FoxNews.com reported Wednesday.
Police found Freire and his wife “battered” in the theater parking lot, and they arrested four juveniles and one adult in the violent altercation.

Marine Stabbed at Best Buy by suspected shoplifter!

      November 27, 2010
      Associated Press

AUGUSTA, Ga. – A U.S. Marine reservist collecting toys for children was stabbed when he helped stop a suspected shoplifter in eastern Georgia.

Best Buy sales manager Orvin Smith told The Augusta Chronicle that man was seen on surveillance cameras Friday putting a laptop under his jacket at the Augusta store.

When confronted, the man became irate, knocked down an employee, pulled a knife and ran toward the door. Outside were four Marines collecting toys for the service branch’s “Toys For Tots” program.

Smith said the Marines stopped the man, but he stabbed one of them, Cpl. Phillip Duggan, in the back. The cut did not appear to be severe.

The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, assorted lacerations and bruises he obtained when he fell, trying to run after stabbing the Marine.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was held until police arrived. The Richmond County Sheriff’s office said it is investigating.

TV Crew Covering President Claims Mistreatment
Producer Injured When Police Officer Grabs Camera
Daryl Huff KITV 4 News Reporter

    POSTED: 5:37 pm HST December 30, 2010
    UPDATED: 8:22 pm HST December 30, 2010

HONOLULU — A public access television crew complained of police mistreatment Thursday, after trying to get a picture of President Barrack Obama.

Just after dawn Wednesday, the three-woman crew for a Big Island public access program called “We Are Change Hawaii” drove up to the barricade near the president’s vacation home in Kailua.

Host B.J. Hampton was told they couldn’t stay, so she spoke into the video camera as she returned to the car.

“OK, you know it Obama we’re OK with you, you OK with us,” Hampton said on the tape, provided to KITV. “We just wanted to get a glimpse of you but we’re moving on because this is a private street and we don’t want to make anybody nervous. Aloha!” She waved to the Secret Service agents at the barricade as she climbed back into the car.

The crew was video-taping vehicle searches along the potential motorcade route as they left the neighborhood. They noticed a van behind them.

At this point Sherri Kane, who describes herself as an investigative journalist, looked into the camera and said, “Behind us we have the Secret Service following us now so this is kind of exciting.”

Exciting turned to scary after they pulled into a gas station. On their video, a police officer approached the car and said, “Stay in the car. Put that camera off of me.”

Producer Sativa Jones can be heard saying “OK.”

The women said police vehicles and up to five officers surrounded the car, demanded IDs and registration without explanation. Then without warning an officer reached into the car and grabbed Jones’ camera.

“He grabbed it out of my hand and then he slammed it on top of the car,” Jones said. She said the camera was damaged – the automatic lens cover no longer worked.

Jones’ fingers were gashed by the sharp edge on the camera mount. She said the officer appeared shaken by what he’d done and courteously showed her how to complain, writing his name and badge number on a card with contact information for the Honolulu Police Commission.

Kane said other officers on the scene would not let them make a criminal complaint against the officer who grabbed the camera.

“What went down was something that should not happen here in the United States of America,” Kane said. “You have all of these police officers that could be looking at legitimate or people who are really trying to harm the president. Instead, you have so many of them on us.”

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Sadly this gestapo behavior will do nothing to change their opinion of the ever-so-intelligent left. This is what was going on in 1933 Germany. The party-lover “investigative journalist” is going to be “foist on her own petard”. She will rationalize that the behavior of the police was “justified” in order to protect the president’s privacy while, if you asked her “what if it happened if you were trying to get video of Bush?” the answer would be completely different. Loyalties are very strange things and psychoanalysts are often at odds to explain how they work. They defy logic, sense and critical thinking as well as objectivity and close examination. What the police did was wrong. The fact that an edict was sent out “no photos of the president” is also wrong. He is acting like a thug dictator more and more every day and he’s getting more and more comfortable with it. But, the one thing that is absolutely clear is what a jackass he truly is.

    • Mithrandir says:

It would be comfortable to say, “Well the lefties got a taste of their own medicine.” However, this action is reprehensible no matter who does it to whom. It really is The People vs. The Government, not so much this left/right struggle.

BOTH sides love a huge, out-of-control spending gov’t, intimidating and brutalizing the opposition. They just take turns complaining about it when they are in the minority.
When people use FBI records to intimidate political opponents (hillary clinton), police gun down black guys with 46 bullets, muscle through huge unreadable bills, do “Joe the Plummer” background investigations, send our military off to unwinable wars, EVERYONE needs to stand up, not just taking a peek to see who got harassed. These are violations of human dignity, and trust. Is this the “shining city on a hill” Reagan dreamed about, or a cesspool filled with evil people doing evil deeds?
      Blech, disgraceful!
Is there anyone left in the government that is a person of honor and integrity?
