Senate GOP Blocks DNC Infrastructure Plan

From Obama’s tireless flacks at the Associated Press:

Senate GOP blocks $60B Obama infrastructure plan

By ANDREW TAYLOR – Associated Press
November 3, 2011

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans in the Senate have killed legislation sponsored by President Barack Obama to spend $60 billion on building and repairing roads, rail lines and other infrastructure to help kick-start the sluggish economy.

Just like with his first stimulus, the only infrastructure Obama’s ‘jobs bill’ is intended to rebuild is the infrastructure of the Democrat Party. It is intended to put money into the pockets of its union foot soldiers and other party faithful.

Meanwhile, more than 20 real job bills have been passed by the House in bi-partisan votes. Every one of which has been killed by the Democrats in the Senate. And the Associated Press has yet to report on a single one of them.

The 51-49 vote fell well short of the 60 votes required under Senate procedures to start work on the bill.

Note that this was a bi-partisan vote. Since the Democrats control 51 seats in the Senate. (Plus Lieberman and Sanders.)

The infrastructure measure is the third in a string of Senate defeats for Obama’s stimulus-style jobs agenda, which would be financed by a tax surcharge on the very wealthy.

Despite the repeated losses, Democrats seem to think they’ve found a winning issue in pressing popular ideas from Obama’s poll-tested jobs package.

After all, they have the news media to support their lies with article like this.

Republicans counter that the president is more interested in picking political fights than in seeking compromise.

Didn’t we just get admissions from the Democrats yesterday that this was exactly the case? Didn’t they tell us that Obama’s jobs bill was never intended to pass? That it was always meant to be political theater?

Has anyone told the AP? Or don’t they bother to follow the news anymore?
