Sharpton Network Is On The Brink Of Ruin

From the New York Post:

Audit finds Sharpton’s nonprofit on brink

An accounting firm hired by Al Sharpton’s National Action Network found the civil-rights group in such financial disarray that it flunked its record-keeping — and may not even survive, The Post has learned.

The scathing critique was spelled out in a hard-hitting internal audit of NAN’s books, a copy of which was obtained by The Post.

"The organization has suffered recurring decreases in net assets — and has been dependent upon advances from related parties and the nonpayment of payroll tax obligations — to maintain continuity," the firm KBL concluded in an April 2 audit of NAN’s 2008 financial records, the most recent available.

It sounds like the ‘shakedowns’ are not what they used to be. And does this mean that the Reverend is being unpatriotic, and not paying his fair share of taxes?

The audit, which was submitted to NAN’s board of directors, warned, "These circumstances create substantial doubt about the organization’s ability to continue."

KBL said it was "unable to form an opinion" on the accuracy of NAN’s financial figures "because of inadequacies in the organization’s accounting records."

What a surprise. Mr. Sharpton always seemed like such a stickler for details.

In 2008, federal prosecutors decided to drop a criminal probe into the finances of Sharpton and NAN. But Sharpton — who also has a lucrative syndicated radio show and a speech-making and consulting business — agreed to pay back more than $2 million in overdue personal and NAN taxes.

We thought that the New York Post has reported back in May of 2009 that Mr. Sharpton got this bill cut in half?

The audit said NAN still owed $1.348 million in delinquent city, state and federal taxes and penalties at the end of 2008. The IRS has filed dozens of liens against NAN over the past decade, including one as recently as April of this year.

Again, the IRS and New York city and state are famously forgiving when it comes to people owing them almost a million and half dollars in back taxes.

Last year, the Federal Elections Commission slapped Sharpton with $285,000 fine, in part for illegally using NAN funds to cover the costs of his 2004 presidential campaign

Pickers of nits.

Meanwhile, the audit found that NAN was a defendant in five lawsuits:

* Alpha International Travel accused the group of failing to pay $50,000 in outstanding bills. NAN settled the case.

* The Peabody hotel in Memphis, where NAN held its 2008 convention, accused NAN of stiffing it out of $70,000. NAN is contesting the charges.

* NAN’s Arizona chapter is accused of being a deadbeat tenant. The organization is fighting the claim…

These creditors are obviously confused. Mr. Sharpton and his gang are the ones who are owed.

And they can never be repaid enough.

Obviously white workers should be hit with a special NAN assessment on their 2010 tax bills. Perhaps it should even be made retroactive…say to the 16th century.

We can hope that Al Sharpton finally gets what he’s been crying for. Justice. Including prison for he and everyone in his organization who derive their own wealth from hate mongering and race baiting.

I’m sure Obama will be able to hide a few million for Al in the new $50B “infrastructure” bill.

Sharpton and Jackson aren’t true ministers of Christ. Christ said many will come in his name and deceive many.

Christ was challenged on the question of paying taxes. He held a coin and asked whose image and inscription was on it. They answered ‘Caesar’s’. Christ then instructed them to ‘render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s, and unto God that which is God’s. (Matt 22: 19-22)

He’s broken every Commandment, and never apologized or was held to account for the Tawana Brawley incident. Too many people were intimidated first by the ‘Rev’ title, and secondly by his color.

Even a child is known by his doings. (Prov 20:11) So too is an adult:

Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matt 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Sharpton and Jackson are two pieces of work and not God’s representatives.

If the Rev Sharpton was white – none of this would be happening – he’d been put in jail when the Tawana Brawley incident (probably before that, but I was actually busy with a life and raising my kids – that I wasn’t much aware of his name prior to that little ‘incident’) occurred.

Yes, indeed – Rev Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and of course Jeremiah Wright and to show my racial equity (since we are all about equality now) Jim Wallis and Father Pfleger – are terrible examples of Christianity and imagine the number of people, truly looking for a Christian minister to guide them – who have been lead astray and had their minds poisoned with anger, resentment, hatred, envy and certainly nothing that can remotely qualify as Christianity.

A dedicated revolutionary’s career is often enhanced by a little jail time.

Somehow though, I don’t see the Reverend looking forward to to that.

What can he do, what can he do?

Oh wait….I have an idea….and I’ll bet this one occurs to him too.

    RACISM!!!!

    • GL0120 says:

P.R., I have no doubt whatsoever that the Rev is fanning out his trusty deck of cards, looking for the race one.
Failing that, he’ll claim persecution on religious grounds.
The man has no shame whatsoever, he’ll do whatever he has to do to escape responsibility.

I’d love to see the records for the divinity college he supposedly graduated from. And Jesse Jacks too and the Church of What’s Happening Now while we’re at it. Seems to me there’d be some fraud convictions being levied.

Where would one start to disect that portion of the article? Accused by who, and is “deadbeat tenant” a legal charge?

I remember when Ted Bundy was accused of being a dick. He fought the charge, but was found guilty of dickishness.
