Sheehan Nixes Trip “On Doctor’s Orders”

Sad news for the Europeans. Cindy is going to withhold her presence from them at this time.

From Stars & Stripes:

Cindy Sheehan, who became a peace activist after her son was killed in Iraq, is arrested in front the building which houses the American Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Monday, March 6, 2006 in New York. Sheehan and three other anti war activist were arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest after trying to deliver a letter to the American mission.

Sheehan cancels visit to Europe

RAMSTEIN, Germany — Cindy Sheehan said Friday in an e-mail to Stars and Stripes that she will not be in Europe this week.

Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq and the woman who protested last summer outside President Bush’s ranch, initially was scheduled to participate Saturday in anti-war protests near Landstuhl and Ramstein. Earlier this week, Sheehan told Stripes she would not partake in protests near Landstuhl Regional Medical Center or Ramstein Air Base out of respect for the troops.

Sheehan’s trip to Europe — where she was scheduled to testify before the European Union Parliament on Tuesday — was canceled because of injuries she said she received when arrested Monday during a protest in New York.

“I could not go to Germany,” Sheehan wrote. “My doctor forbade it. I ended up having a slight concussion and a possible torn rotator cuff injury. I am recuperating and won’t make Europe this week.”

A protest and counterprotest are still scheduled for Saturday afternoon outside Ramstein Air Base’s west gate.

But how will the European Union Parliament know what to do without the insightful guidance of Mother Sheehan?

And how long before we hear about al-Cindy’s lawsuit against the NYPD?
