Shocker: Hamas Holds ‘Victory Rallies’

From an elated Associated Press:

Hamas holds victory rallies as UN chief tours Gaza

By BEN HUBBARD and ALFRED de MONTESQUIOU, Associated Press Writers

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – The U.N. chief inspected the devastation wrought by Israel’s onslaught in Gaza on Tuesday, leading a moment of silence at the smoldering U.N. headquarters, as the territory’s militant Hamas rulers, triumphant at having survived, held victory rallies amid the ruins…

Thousands of Hamas supporters thronged a square outside the remains of the parliament building in Gaza City, which was heavily damaged in an Israeli airstrike at the outset of the war. Two men hoisted a sign in carefully scripted Hebrew reading, "The resistance will be victorious, Israel has been defeated." …

Calling the crisis a "collective political failure," Ban said he would share the findings of his trip to Gaza with world leaders, including incoming President Barack Obama…

As Ban marshaled a global response to the suffering in Gaza, Hamas was busy planning nine victory rallies across Gaza.

Although Israel scored a decisive battleground victory, Hamas claims its own victory because it managed to withstand the intense Israeli assault and fired hundreds of rockets into the Jewish state throughout the fighting.

In a sign the militant group remained in control in Gaza, Hamas security teams in uniforms patrolled Gaza City.

"With full trust and full confidence I say the Palestinian people and the heroic resistance have won this battle," Mushir al-Masri, a Hamas official, said Monday. "Hamas today is stronger than any time before. … The loser is the occupation."

Thousands of Hamas supporters turned out to celebrate in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, raising their forefingers in the air as a sign of the their loyalty to the militant group, and waving the movement’s iconic green flag. Bearded organizers in yellow vests kept the crowd in order and pro-Hamas music blared from loudspeakers.

Around 800 people showed up for a pro-Hamas demonstration in the northern Gazan town of Beit Lahiya, the site of heavy fighting.

"For us, this was a victory," said Mohammed Abu Awad, 24, a university student…

Of course Hamas would claim victory no matter what.

But how long will it be before the rest of the world’s media follows suit?

Hmm….nice to see all of the Hamas militants in an open area instead of hiding under the skirts of women. Perhaps Israel should drop a few bombs while everyone is focused on the Obama’s coronation – I mean inauguration.

Hamas has already said they are going to acquire longer range missiles to shoot at Israeli cities. They’re not very bright. Too bad the world stage is setting up a conflict that lasts….and lasts…..and lasts.

    But, but… They are civilians!

Don’t you see that? Nobody is wearing a Hamas uniform.

You’re right! Maybe the UN should make Israel pay for special Hamas uniforms so that the terrorists – I mean freedom fighters – can stand out from the normal population. I mean, it’s not like Hamas wants to hide among civilians right? Or stock their bombs in mosques ?

I hope they enjoyed their “two minutes of hate” as they did in 1984 although in this case, it is more like 200 years of hate. They are cowards. That the Far Left sides with them is nothing short of breathtakingly stupid.

The far left is agonizingly stupid. :)

Maybe it took Hamas and its supporters 3 weeks to find their spines.
They act real brave when no ones around to bloody their mouths for them, but when the Israeli soldiers were about, they were hiding in the rubble sobbing and soiling their pants.
    Nothing but sniveling cowards.

  7. sheehanjihad says:

The left will pay for their mistakes. All of them. Every last one of them. They have no idea the hell that is coming.

    • Liberals Demise says:

It’s always someone else that pays for the lefts F-ups. The Left runs and hides like Hamas and little scared kids!
Nothing but a bunch of chicken shitskis’!!

  8. 12 Gauge Rage says:

Hamas is just like Hitler was in his final days as the American and Soviet armies were tightening the noose around Berlin. Surrounded by explosions and tons of rubble he was still crazy enough to convince himself that he had the allies right where he wanted them. ‘Give me Germany (Gaza) and in twelve years you will not be able to recognize it.’ After twelve years most Germans couldn’t recognize their country because of the devastation. If Israel attacked Hamas for twelve straight years they wouldn’t be able to recognize their land either.
