Obama Plans To Give Illegal Aliens Amnesty

Still more priorities from the President-Select’s Change.gov:

Plan for Immigration

The Problem

Undocumented population is exploding: The number of undocumented immigrants in the country has increased more than 40 percent since 2000. Every year, more than a half-million people come illegally or illegally overstay their visas.

Immigration bureaucracy is broken: The immigration bureaucracy is broken and overwhelmed, forcing legal immigrants to wait years for applications.

Immigration raids are ineffective: Despite a sevenfold increase in recent years, immigration raids only netted 3,600 arrests in 2006 and have placed all the burdens of a broken system onto immigrant families.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s Plan

Create Secure Borders

Obama and Biden want to preserve the integrity of our borders. They support additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry.

Improve Our Immigration System

Obama and Biden believe we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the demand for jobs that employers cannot fill.

Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally

Obama and Biden will remove incentives to enter the country illegally by cracking down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants.

Bring People Out of the Shadows

Obama and Biden support a system that allows undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.

Work with Mexico

Obama and Biden believe we need to do more to promote economic development in Mexico to decrease illegal immigration.

Of course this was probably going to happen either way.

Still, there it is in black and white.

How can an ILLEGAL immigrant be in good standing? Just askin.

  2. marinetbryant says:

As was pointed out elsewhere on the net, when did the Government(.gov) start paying for an “Office of the President Elect” website?

  3. cerberus6 says:

So does this mean Obama’s Aunt T in Boston has to go to the back of the line?

Instead of the ‘line’ (which is nothing more than a codeword for “stay in this country illegally”), ship them back to their country of origin, and let them apply for citizenship there.

… Let the fight against Comrade Obama begin.

“……..increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together and meet the needs for jobs employers cannot fill.”
Hogwash and BS!! The market is saturated with illegals who do the work for half the wages, putting Americans out of work. This crap that they are doing the jobs Americans won’t do is full of holes! Plus Americans’ are hurting for jobs today and quite possibly after Jan. 2009 when the BOOB w/ big ears parks his kister at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.. If this is a well thought out plan……I’ll go on a date with Oprah, and I’ll pay! (There goes the kids college money) Ha…I’m safe!!

  6. bill says:

And they will work for who?

  7. Steve says:

Mr. Limbaugh also touched upon this thread.

“The market is saturated with illegals who do the work for half the wages, putting Americans out of work.”

Well, many black-Americans are not going to like this since many think that illegal aliens are stealing jobs from them.

And what the hell is with this pathway to citizenship BS. They came here illegally, they should never be eligible for citizenship. At most legal residence. I am against even that because one major reason we have the huge illegal population now is because of the last amnesty. It brought in all sorts of people who have been just sitting and waiting for the next one. And I know two of them and they freely admit that they came in 2002 when Bush first mentioned amnesty. You can bet that many more are on their way now. What about all the good people who are waiting for a chance?

  9. texaspsue says:

Too bad a Immigration Reform Bill was never passed in these last 8 years. I know President Bush got a bad rap for this issue. His orginal plan was not what McCain, et al, came up with in their “Shamesty Bill”. I don’t know why the President let Congress distort his messages through the years. I just can’t figure out why all of the Republicans fell aleep at the wheel when it came to fixing the problems America faces. Oh well, I guess you can’t look back. Sigh.

  10. Steve says:

    Speaking of illegal aliens:

Obama’s aunt to fight to stay in US

Why hasn’t ‘Aunt Zeituni’ already been deported? (Just kidding.)

The story says she has “fled” her Boston housing project to go live with “relatives” in Cleveland.

How much you want to bet they are also illegals?

  11. Diane says:

I was in high school and college back in the 80’s, and more concerned with group theory than with politics, but I could swear that the first amnesty bill was sold as a “one time, never to be repeated” thing. Am I hallucinating that, or does anyone else remember it too?

  12. Jobs are the magnet for illegals. Or were.

There was definite traction once the Bush White House got off its duff and started squeezing these illegals, and punishing the idiot employers that enabled ’em.

‘Self-deportation’, I think is the word.

    But Obama says otherwise.

Golly. I never knew it was so easy. Identify the situation as untenable. Deem the problem as unsolvable, and just throw a blanket over it!

Oops. Don’t forget “Olly, Olly, Oxen Free!”

It’s good to be the King.

  13. BigOil says:

meet the demand for jobs employers cannot fill.

Today’s headline was “Unemployment at 6.5% – highest in 14 years”.

I know I may not have the mental capacity of the all knowing Messiah, but somethin shur don add up.

  14. gipper says:

    Remove Incentives to Enter Illegally

That’s easy to do. Just continue down the path that the Democrats in Congress have laid for us. Realize the vision of Barack Obama. Socialize America. Drive the economy into the ground. Minimize freedoms. Force and keep everyone in the proletariat except the elite party leaders. Stifle businesses with a heavy tax burden so they can’t afford to hire new workers.

  15. Professor_Repulso says:

    The deception with tact
Just what are you trying to say?

Promote economic development in Mexico? By doing what? The major impediment to any economic development is their own government. The revenue generators are oil and dope. The former is under total control of the state and I would suspect (to a greater or lesser degree), that so is the latter. These guys don’t believe in spreading the wealth around. They believe in spreading their disgruntled population around. And that’s not going to change.

  16. imnewatthis says:

They want to increase immigration? I wish they’d read Pat Buchanan’s books.

We’re supposed to promote economic development in Mexico? Once again, the Obamanation wants us to solve the world’s problems. With our hard-earned money. Grrr.

  17. LewWaters says:

Am I the only one to notice that they say there are jobs American employers cannot fill, yet we have an over 6% unemployment rate now?

  18. Pedro says:

Obama is looking to give illegals amnesty, soon, we will be fighting for amnesty from Obama. Zieg Heil Obama!

  19. Steve says:

“I could swear that the first amnesty bill was sold as a “one time, never to be repeated” thing. Am I hallucinating that, or does anyone else remember it too?”

You’re right, of course. And it was to be matched with very severe employer sanctions — which somehow have seldom if ever been enforced.

It’s not unlike the spending reductions Congress promised Reagan, if he would just increase taxes. Which never happened either.

Come to think of it, I can’t remember a single instance of a Democrat controlled Congress ever living up to a promise made to a Republican President.

Steve, at the time of the first amnesty program, and into the mid 1990s,I was working off and on for a family-owned farm labor contractor business.

The “don’t hire illegals” mandate is pretty toothless, and it starts with what the government allowed an employer to do.

As you know, farm labor is a day-to-day kind of work. New workers’ checks were withheld until they came into the office and provided “documentation.” Some of these documents were obviously phony, but we were not allowed to fire that employee or even make some sort of educated guess that those documents were fake. According to the government, employers just weren’t “expert” enough to recognize forged documents. We took photocopies and accepted the validity of the documents. We had to.

If a person went two pay periods without bringing in a green card (work authorization) or other valid ID proving U.S. citizenship (and a social security card), that person was fired, but the paychecks were ultimately handed over.

I am sure that plenty of those “fired” people came back to work with a “new” name or moved on to a different labor contractor and started the cycle over and over.

Perhaps withholding those ill-earned wages would help stop illegals from just drifting from employer to employer…

  22. takeastand says:

Removing incentives to enter illegally, would mean getting all the businesses who profit off of illegal immigrants, to agree with not letting them in, and then you could begin greater enforcement. Good luck. There are too many great reasons in this country, why people want to live here.

I suggest, we let them come here, and start making them pay, just like American Citizens have to. Pay taxes, pay for health care, pay for all the services. At least that way, they would be carrying their own load. At least then then business who hire them will have to pay taxes on them as well. Then, those businesses will be just as incentivised to hire the best qualified, not just the cheapest person, that they don’t have to pay employment, workers comp, Social Security, etc. on.

If an illegal immigrant is living in the US, it is because “WE” are letting him/her. As long as “WE” continue to let them, they will come. We Built it, they are coming.

It is the government and the people, and especially business owners (legal or illegal) who turn a blind eye to them. We have laws that currently exist, we don’t enforce them. More laws that we won’t enforce won’t change a thing. We are looking at enforcement and illegal immigrants the wrong way.

  23. caligirl9 says:

I had a conversation with a man on the light rail last week about work opening up because the illegals are scarce…

The man was Latino but spoke perfect non-accented English; he was a 50-something California-born man whose grandparents were migrants in the 1950s and into the early 1960s. His parents were/are U.S.-born (mother deceased). His brothers are veterans of Vietnam and he’s always had a job (construction) until recently. He and his brothers helped his grandparents purchase a home, and the family now has a stable place to go, mortgage paid.

He told me he was going to travel to nearby Modesto (in the San Joaquin Valley) to seek work in a food processing plant, and that the plants were hurting for workers. Even though the pay is a fraction of what he was earning in construction, he said, “it’s work, it’s honest work, and I can do it.” He has a bad back but he is sure he can do what needs to be done. His unemployment was long gone and his prospects in the Bay Area were poor.

I hope he was successful in his job hunt.

So much for Americans not wanting to do the work that only illegals would/will do.
