Shocker: Soros Funded Fake Iraq Body Count

From the UK’s Times:

Anti-war Soros funded Iraq study

Brendan Montague

Sunday, January 13, 2008

A study that claimed 650,000 people were killed as a result of the invasion of Iraq was partly funded by the antiwar billionaire George Soros.

Soros, 77, provided almost half the nearly $100,000 cost of the research, which appeared in The Lancet, the medical journal. Its claim was 10 times higher than consensus estimates of the number of war dead.

The study, published in 2006, was hailed by antiwar campaigners as evidence of the scale of the disaster caused by the invasion, but Downing Street and President George Bush challenged its methodology…

“The authors should have disclosed the [Soros] donation and for many people that would have been a disqualifying factor in terms of publishing the research,” said Michael Spagat, economics professor at Royal Holloway, University of London.

The Lancet study was commissioned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and led by Les Roberts, an associate professor and epidemiologist at Columbia University. He reportedly opposed the war from the outset

Professor John Tirman of MIT said this weekend that $46,000 of the approximate $100,000 cost of the study had come from Soros’s Open Society Institute.

Roberts said this weekend: “In retrospect, it was probably unwise to have taken money that could have looked like it would result in a political slant. I am adamant this could not have affected the outcome of the research.”

The Lancet did not break any rules by failing to disclose Soros’s sponsorship.

Surprise, surprise, eh?

This finding will now run at the top of every news cast and on the front page of every newspaper, just like the original bogus study did.

Of course it will.

George Soros funding a study on Iraqi deaths is like…..
    1. Britney Spears funding a study on talent.
    2. Ted Kennedy funding a study on drunk driving.
    3. Bill Clinton funding a study on perjury.
    4. Howard Stern funding a study on family values.
    5. Rep. William Jefferson funding a study on alternative uses for freezers.

So I guess his $50,000 has really been ‘flushed’ down the proverbial toilet as neither this study nor the crapweasels elected to Congress because of it - have provided their side of the bargin - Bush impeached, the Iraq War ended, and our Troops home. . .

Mr. Soros, give me the $50,000 - if you are going to waste it so foolishly - me and mine can use it to help pay for college for the 4 members of my family who are currently working at improving their and their families lives and futures by working and going to college. . .

However, since Mr. Soros real intention is to destroy the American economy and democracy - he probably did get enough bang for his bucks to make him happy - look at all the crapweasels he got elected to Congress - even if they haven’t accomplished squat yet. He still has hope.

You know I’m beginning to wonder if SelloutPelosi, RipoffReid, TraitorMurtha, AbridgetoofarKennedy and SinkaneconomySoros even know what the InterNet is and how vast and fast their shannigans actually do get around?!? I know that they don’t bother to listen to talk radio - or the left version wouldn’t be so damn bad and the right version would be silenced.

There motto must be: when all else fails, LIE. It’s unbelievable how much time, effort and money Soros spends to discredit President Bush. (He must be really frustrated that he can’t run for President.)

The battle of the two Georges continues!

  4. mergatroidal

My prescription for Soros is to start taking 500 mg. four times a day, a gram or two a day of ascorbic acid, preferably a concoction that includes bioflavinoids. Those red blotches on the skin of his face is in need of some serious, heavy-duty anti-oxidant “scrubbing.” A healthy skin tone comes with C. It might be too late though; he should’ve started this regime early. His skin is ripe for, and the right age for diseases to set in.

Merg…..I have a very serious regimen for Soro’s face….I call it “match the blotches”….in where I take my tater stick and pound his fat torpid face repeatedly until all of it is the color and consistency of raw calves liver, thus eliminating those embarrassing marks from his complexion. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Even if it’s not necessary.

I see a new game show in the making SJ. “So You Want to be a Tatered’ Billionaire?”

Hey, the writers are on strike, why not??
