Shocker: US Says That Russia Is Violating Nuclear Treaty

From Reuters:

U.S. says Russia violated nuclear treaty, urges immediate talks

By Roberta Rampton | July 29, 2014

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – In another sign of deteriorating relations between the United States and Russia, the U.S. government said on Monday that Moscow had violated the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces treaty, and urged immediate bilateral talks on the issue.

What a shock, huh? It’s not like the Russians (Soviets) have not violated each and every weapons treaty we have ever made with them. After all, Lenin once proudly pronounced that: "Treaties are made to be broken."

"This is a very serious matter which we have attempted to address with Russia for some time now," an administration official said in a statement…

Which is to say that up until now, the Obama administration has pretended otherwise. In fact, Obama has been pushing to slash our nuclear stockpile even more than we are required to by our treaties.

The official did not describe how Russia violated the treaty. But the New York Times had reported in January that Washington informed its NATO partners that Russia had tested a ground-launched cruise missile…

President Ronald Reagan and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev signed The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) back in 1987. Among other things, INF was supposed to eliminate ground-launched cruise missiles with ranges of 310 to 3,400 miles. And now we know that it has not stopped the Russians from developing and testing them.

Meanwhile, in the last few weeks, Hillary Clinton, ‘the smartest woman in the world’ has been telling the BBC and NPR that her Russian ‘reset’ actually worked. And one of the proofs she has been citing has been how the reset let the US and Russia agree to a new START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty). Which, by the way, the Russians are already known to be violating as well.

nerobama’s regime is famous for backing out in its end of deals. It’s amusing to watch them throw a hissy fit when they get a taste of their own medicine. There is no honor among thieves, and apparently no appreciation for irony, either.
