[The stimulus package, which found no Republican support in the House and survived with three GOP votes in the Senate, aims to save or create as many as 3.5 million jobs through massive government investment while boosting consumer spending through modest tax cuts.] (source Washington)

Modest tax cuts? 13 dollars a week represents democrats being able to crow about O's promise of giving a tax break to 95% of Americans. He did! Sort of.....

That is likened to telling a prisoner has has been paroled, but only letting him be free for about ten minutes and then sending him back to serve a life term.

That is the democrat's definition of modest? Miserly absolute minimum to keep an unrealistic campaign lie alive for nothing more than political gain.

Just think...over four million families could have been given a thousand dollars if ACORN wouldnt have been paid back for rigging the election........

And that's just four billion.....think of the rest....and how we could have benefited from a cash infusion of over 50k per household in the entire country with just the spending projects the democrats gave to their loyalists.

They are liars...cheats...and self centered egotists. I dislike them all, immensely.

3 questions for S&L'ers.

1. If 35% to 40% of citizens pay no taxes and their votes count the same as taxpayers, is that a form of taxation without representation?

To help your thinking, citizens who pay taxes are about to assume between $785 billion and $3200 billion (Heritage Foundation's estimate) in new government debt. The new debt for taxpayers will be between 80% and 320% of the income tax they paid in 2008. The new debt for nontaxpayers will be $0.00.

2. If a citizen's 3 congressionmen are Republicans, who were not allowed to help write the "Stimulus" bill, and who were not allowed to offer amendments, is that a form of taxation without representation?

3. What was the main grievance that the Colonies cited in the years before the American Revolution?

This is what needs to be done and I am quite serious. All those in Congress (especially the rich Pelosi, the rich Reid, the rich Claire McCaskill et al)who voted for this boondoggle of a bill - and it's nothing but a pork payoff to Obama supporters as we all know - and those who gave money to elect this fraud of a president (because this group could be traced easily through their contributions), are the ones who should be billed to pay for this $787 billion. Why should I/you/my children/your children/ grandchildren have to pay for this when they will not benefit at all. Anyone who voted for Obama and the Dems (and Specter, Snow, Collins) should have their bank acccounts frozen, their property taken and sold, their assets taken and sold to pay off this debt. Welfare people should have a portion of their benefits taxed to pay for this as should ss recipients. If this generation cannot pay it off, it should be passed to their kids.

Secondly, there should be special hearings before Congress where the National Endowments of the ARts, ACORN, etc. etc. and all the other entities who receive this payoff money would be called forth to testify how they used this money and how this money was used in job creation and how these created jobs benefited the economy. If these organizations cannot give a detailed accounting of how these funds were used for positive job creation, then these entities will have to pay back the money with high interest regardless of the assets they have to immediately sell. They will also have to sell off any items like cars, planes, luxury items they bought, and pay back the money. (does this sound familiar?) The people who love to steal others' money for their personal benefit need to be held accountable to pay back these funds. We're not going to stop the thieves unless they're held to pay for what they stole. That's exactly what should happen. (I realize of course this is never going to happen, but it's something that should happen. People are going to have to get tough so others stop their stealing. IMO)

None of these things actually make money, or generate new jobs. They just maintain jobs, votes, and when the money is gone, the jobs go with it.

It's what they have always done with our money. Gov'ts don't make money!

Collins Snowe Spectre....all were woo'd by the dems, promised whatever, made the vote, and were shown the door. Gullible people who dream of the power the dems have now always forget that once the sun comes up, you get to see who you decided to go home with last night. Both of those women will come to regret their offering themselves for a price...Spectre flat doesnt count anymore. The bus is coming, and Reid is standing behind him. Fools.

And what propaganda over the census. The dems doesn't understand that it's not the state that covers up minorities, the illegals lie about their race, and say they are caucasion. This can only mean, they want to visit in our homes. This time, they probably want to see what kind of car you drive. Dont' think they'll just violate you privacy and ask what kind of car. I'd say everyone should put a hybrid, then ollah Obama and the Green Army may leave us alone. They aren't coming into my house. This time, if some homeless looking scum bangs on my kitchen window yelling, not listening to me, that I did it over the phone, I'll call the police. I had to do it two times on the phone. So, add the federal govt, and it will only get worse.

Dick Morris stated the truth regarding this fiasco on The O'Reilly Factor the other night. Congress and the HNIC (my term, not Morris') decided to cram all of the BS they hoped for over the next 4 or 8 years into this one single "emergency" package. Why every member of Congress isn't hanging by their neck yet is beyond me!

This is what happens when gullible people elect incompetent fools to the position of supreme leadership. I long for the days when feed the pig meant to put away as much money into your bank account as you could. Now the term simply means to overfeed the government pig more pork until it reaches the size of Hogzilla.

"$400 million for NASA to accelerate climate research missions"

Ahh, more money for James Hansen to lie to us about the global warming scam. NASA have to work hard to get funding for all their work, and it is all worth it I believe, except this Goddard institute that has Hansen promoting this enduring lie. I think that if NASA continues to support Hansen then we don't need to. Put the word out, vote to cut off ALL NASA funding unless NASA comes to their senses and pushes Hansen out the proverbial airlock. 400 million to Hansen's propaganda scheme will mean 100 times that in costs to this country in a short time. Talk about paying through the nose for a bullet to shoot yourself in the foot with!!

I've knows some very smart gov employees with glaring blind spots. I guess if your livelihood depend on big mamma, it's hard to see mamma in a realistic light.

Another thing to keep in mind with the money for IG offices, is that new employees will have to be hired to spend the money. None of the new employees will be conservative. None of the new employees will refuse to join the union, which will increase the amount of money and workers for future Democrat campaigns. None of the new employees will ever be fired or laid off. Your great, great grandchildren will be paying off these bureaucrats who will never ever find one dime of money stolen by the Democrats.

I sure hope 3 republican senators are happy that they sat down at the table and brokered a few little concessions from their democrat masters in the senate, only to let the bill go to conference and have all their compromises undone and replaced with worse than was there before. I wonder if they knew it would happen and did it on purpose, or if they're just too dumb to know any better?

Regardless of what's in the pig, what sane person would make a decision of this magnitude with no time to read the document.

Do you sign documents that commit you to tens of thousands of debt without reading them? You may do so for something you have significant experience with, buying a car or even a house......but something you know virtually NOTHING about.

This alone would cause any honorable person to vote no.

But then, there are few if any honorable people in congress. They are not voting on the bill . They are voting to perpetuate themselve in their criminal sinecure's.
