Soros Gets Money From US Govt, Palestinians?

Why is Mr. George Soros’s famously well-heeled Open Society Institute getting donations from from agencies of the US federal government, as well as the United Palestinian Appeal — which is a relief charity?

These are the only years that are readily accessible. But one suspects these contributions have been going on for quite a while.

So how many taxpayers do you think are aware that they are helping to directly support Mr. Soros’s noble efforts? And to the tune of $16,390,296 in just three years?

And what about the people who give money to the Palestinian Appeal? Isn’t it a reasonable expectation that the money would be going to the relief of the poor Palestinians, rather than to a super deluxe political organization?

Also bear in mind that the Open Society Institute is just the flagship for Mr. Soros’s numerous philanthropic enterprises. Who knows how much money he is getting from the US government?

Still, I am sure there is an innocent, even noble, explanation for all of this.

Sure there is.

    Just when you think the Government can’t find a bigger waste of my tax dollars . . . when is enough, enough?

    Soros is a real life Lex Luther. Unfortunately, there is no real life Superman.

    There are nano seconds I wish I was soulless enough to do crap like this and get my share of the pie but then I realize I have a soul, I have a mind (realizing I am the people who actually work to make that tax pot playground) and that when I die and face my God - it is going to be my drinkin, cussin and runnin around when I was young that I will answer for, not attempting to steal from the very people whose government I am trying to destroy.

    It is a shame our biased msm is on his payroll too or maybe we’d hear the truth once in a while.

    If I live long enough - I can’t wait to watch these vile people turn on each other - it’s coming - as there is no honor among thieves and scum.

    Pitch this up the line - Drudge, The Weekly Standard, etc, you know best…

    George Soros radiates Insignificance in person.

    Though his lair may be across the street from Carnegie Hall & not in a frickin’ volcano, instead of comparing him to Lex Luther, the ideal evil Genius, he is closer to Dr. Evel - a bumbling bully who hides behind his empire.

    Come to think of it, for you Austin Powers fans, he may even have the same up bringing.

    Seriously though, a little follow the money would reveal what elected officials allowed these millions of US taxpayer money to go to a group such as The Open Society (Open for whom?).

    So which Congresscritter(s) tagged earmarks for Soros for the last 4 years?
    Pelosi? Reid? Murtha? Clinton? Obama?

    If not the earmark route, perhaps some hitherto unknown grant for advancing treason against the US.

    Why isn’t the MSM all over this story? Where’s the hard-nosed investigative journalism credo?
    Oops, sorry, lost my mind for a minute there.

    Which is he? Parasite or predator?

    Good news! By taking ‘charitable contributions’ from that Palestinian Appeal, he is consuming resources that could be used to blow up schools and churches.

    I didn’t spend a lot of time on it, but a google query yielded a lot of stuff about Aids in eastern Europe. I got to this lawsuit filed against America, by the Open Society Institute,

    http://www.brennancenter.org/d....._36369.pdf

    something to do with ““a policy explicitly opposing prostitution and sex trafficking.”

    and decided I just didn’t have enough available time to figure all this garbage out.

    Has anyone else tried to trace down where OSI got the US money and why?

    A few things, can someone explain how he uses the law to accomplish this? How are these organizations structured so that he receives public funds? What laws is he using.

    Second, the right blogosphere must keep this story going. We, along with O’Reilly and the business journals can and will finally bring this guy out of the shadows but our pressure cannot relent. If we drive this story long enough, the MSM will at some point finally pick it up.

    Here is how I wrote about this guy…

    Pagar, it appears that it may have something to do with USAID Drug Demand Reduction Program funding. From Soros’ own site;

    http://www.soros.org/initiativ.....=printable

    The lawsuit, Alliance for Open Society Interational v. United States Agency for International Development, was brought by Pathfinder International, AOSI, and the Open Society Institute, with which AOSI is affiliated. The Brennan Center for Justice, through its Non-Profit Rights Project, which works to protect the freedom of non-profit organizations when they partner with government, is counsel to the plaintiffs.

    Defendants are the United States Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, all of which distribute U.S. funds for international HIV/AIDS work.

    AOSI—which receives support from the Open Society Institute—was required to sign the pledge in order to receive continued government funding to administer USAID’s Drug Demand Reduction Program in Central Asia. The Drug Demand Reduction Program has operated since 2002 in Central Asia , where HIV/AIDS is spread overwhelmingly through injection drug use and is likely to have a devastating social and economic impact.

    Using public funds via NYU and the Brennan Center to further a lawsuit against a US Government agency. How nice, I get more disgusted the further I dig.

    Gila Monster (nice name by the way)

    how is this legal then? I still don’t understand how he does all of this legally. If some group funds right wing groups they don’t get government money. How does he get it?

    More here from FrontPageMag linking a CNS article by Jeff Johnson;

    http://www.frontpagemag.com/Ar.....aspx?GUID={6C18A8A5-D2E3-4ABD-83A1-1A14D03A8281}

    Seems OSI isn’t very forthcoming about revealing their US government funding sources.

    Thank you Mike for the reference. Soros reminds me of the Wizard of OZ. The small frumpy man behind the curtain pulling the chains & pushing the levers that blow all that smoke.

    I’ll give you an example. This story ran around Wall Street about a few years back about how George dealt with his fund loosing not only a few billion RAPIDLY, but also his top traders & managers.

    Soros walks onto his NY floor & notices the empty seats of his former top players. He turns to a young man sitting at the desk. (in typical Boris Badenoff dialect)

    Soros: “Are you one of (annonymous)’s trader?”

    Young man:, “No, I just handled his executions.”

    Soros: “Good! I’ll make you head of our London desk.”

    Young man turning to his coworker after George leaves the floor: “Does this mean I won’t be getting a check from the temp agency this week?”

    Amazing!
