South Leg Of Keystone Pipeline To Go Ahead

From a dancing as fast as they can Reuters:

TransCanada chops up Keystone XL to push it ahead

CALGARY/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – TransCanada Corp said on Monday it will build the southern leg of its $7 billion Keystone XL oil pipeline first, skirting a full-blown U.S. review and giving President Barack Obama ammunition to hit back at Republicans who have blasted his energy policy.

Er, how does this give Obama any "ammunition"? It is not like it was his idea. TransCanada has just figured out a way to get around his obstruction. At least for a small part of their pipeline.

Building the portion of the contentious pipeline that would run to Texas refineries from the Cushing, Oklahoma, storage hub before the northern section would help remove a pinch-point that has led to deep price discounts for U.S. and Canadian crude and forced refiners to rely more heavily on imports.

And Warren Buffett’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will still get to carry the Canadian oil down to Oklahoma. So everybody an important Democrat donor and propagandist wins!

TransCanada said it wants the $2.3 billion southern leg in service by mid- to late 2013. It said construction would create 4,000 U.S. jobs, compared with its previous estimate of 20,000 for the overall project, a figure environmental groups disputed

What do environmental groups know about jobs, except how to destroy them?

The development in the long-running battle over the pipeline comes as Obama seeks to fend off Republican jibes about quashing the project, with surging U.S. gasoline prices and a push for job creation among top election issues…

But it does not change what Obama did one iota.

The White House welcomed the move, and said it would work to expedite permits for the southern portion of Keystone XL

That is until the polling numbers change or Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Whichever comes first.

Republicans in Congress vowed to continue their battle to legislate approval for the entire project as part of a highway and infrastructure funding bill

They just want to take the bread out of Warren Buffett’s capacious mouth.

The Republicans can win these arguments, but still find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Obama is the anti-Religion / Constitution candidate with his contraception mandate….even if he totally backtracks from it, reverses it, it’s too late, you can still crush democrats with it.

He is the high gas price candidate, even if this pipeline thing works out. 3.5 years of bottling up oil exploration can’t reverse his election year come to Jesus moments.

If Republicans were smart they would countdown “Democrats’ top 1000 election year lies.” Put in on websites, t.v. emails, and chronicle every misstep and flip flop they make in 2012.
