Spitzer To Run Against Madam For NYC Comptroller

From where else but the New York Post:

Disgraced ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer announces he’s running for city comptroller

By SALLY GOLDENBERG and CARL CAMPANILE | July 8, 2013

Disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer launched a political comeback last night with a surprise announcement that he’s running for City comptroller — and one of his opponents is the madam who used to arrange his affairs with hookers.

Shouldn’t Spitzer run for ‘lack of controller’? Still, New York City denizens must be so proud.

“I hope people forgive me, and I hope they give me a second chance,’’ Spitzer, 54, told The Post, touting his experience as “attorney general and governor and assistant district attorney.”

“I want to do to the comptroller’s office what I did to the AG’s office: re-energize it, re-envision it, and hopefully, the public will give me that opportunity."

This is bad salesmanship. Mr. Spitzer was universally despised for the way he abused his powers as attorney general. His use of hookers was just seized on as an excuse to push him out of the job.

“I have acknowledged the wrongdoing and have moved on. I will ask the public for forgiveness." …

If only these people would ‘move on’ a little further. Like out of politics.

Spitzer — who resigned as governor in 2008 after the feds caught him frequenting an exclusive prostitution ring — may have been encouraged to take on Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in the Democratic primary for comptroller after seeing how well mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is doing now, insiders said.

Ya think?

“All you need is Vito Lopez running for public advocate and you call it the Perv Party,” sniped one City Hall source, referring to the former state assemblyman and current City Council candidate who was drummed out of office amid sexual-harassment claims…

Don’t forget the former governor David Paterson. But ‘Perv Party’ always seems to fit the Democrats.

Running on the Libertarian line for comptroller is Kristin Davis, the madam who arranged hookups for the married Spitzer — known as Client No. 9 in federal documents. Spitzer’s favorite former call girl was Ashley Dupre.

“BRING IT,’’ Davis tweeted of her new rival last night.

Davis spent several months in prison for running the prostitution ring. The feds said Spitzer didn’t spend any public money on his trysts, and declined to prosecute him for being a john.

Where is the justice?

The bid by Spitzer — who was known for keeping his black socks on during his sex romps — has been in the works for several months, said a source in his camp.

He’ll have to move fast — the deadline to collect the 3,750 signatures required to qualify for the primary is midnight Thursday…

One person who may not be voting for Spitzer is his wife, Silda. The Post last month reported that the two have been living apart. A woman answering Silda’s home phone last night declined to comment.

Spitzer last night insisted the two were still together — as he entered the town house where The Post reported he’s been staying with his parents since the split. “My wife plays a role in everything I do,” he said.

Don’t worry. As long as he is for free abortions at any time the ‘feminists’ will support him.

Meanwhile, there is this related story from a giggling Associated Press:

Candidate Weiner Finds Himself Featured In Museum Of Sex Exhibit

Exhibit Featuring Graphic Exchange Has Been Up Since February

July 7, 2013

NEW YORK — As Anthony Weiner campaigns for mayor, he has found himself featured in a decidedly non-family-friendly venue.

Weiner figures prominently in an exhibition at the Museum of Sex, at Fifth Avenue and 27th Street in the Flatiron District. The exhibit, “Universe of Desire,” includes words from a Facebook exchange between Weiner and Las Vegas blackjack dealer Lisa Weiss in which the former congressman touts his sexual prowess.

The focus of the exhibit explores the digital world of sexual desire, which has been on display since February.

“As human behavior becomes more clickable than physical, we can’t help but wonder what this means for our most basic, biological impulse: sex.” Mark Snyder, Director of Exhibitions and Co-Curator of “Universe of Desire” said in a museum news release. “The exhibition explores this very question by examining what we actually search for on the internet and what we leave behind.”

The exhibit encourages visitors to participate in a series of video and interactive experiences, including the “larger than life Facebook conversation” between Weiner and Weiss.

Include us out.

Museum curator Sarah Forbes called Weiner’s words “artifacts of sexuality.” …

We guess that sounds better than ‘the writings of a horndog.’

  1. It is amazing to me the number of people who get off controlling other people’s lives, an urge as powerful as many men can only get off with prostitutes.

    Wait, I’m repeating mysel.

  2. yadayada

liberalism is a clinical psychological disorder where one works so hard to control other people’s lives while being incapable of controlling their own despicable impulses.

  3. Politicians and prostitutes. Two sides of the same coin.

  4. Liberals Demise

    So ……
Client #9 is getting the ol’ #2 from you know who.
