State Dept Advises Against Travel To Benghazi

First we have this from Reuters:

British embassy temporarily withdraws some staff from Libya

Fri May 10, 2013

(Reuters) – The British embassy is temporarily withdrawing some of its staff from Libya over concerns about political uncertainty and the risk of clashes between rival armed groups in the capital, it said on its website.

"Given the security implications of the ongoing political uncertainty, the British Embassy is temporarily withdrawing a small number of staff," the statement said, and added that the embassy would continue to operate as usual.

A British security source told Reuters only non-essential staff were affected.

And, then this From the National Review:

State Department Warns Americans Not to Travel to Benghazi

By  Eliana Johnson | May 9, 2013

A travel warning circulated by the State Department this afternoon warns American citizens against all travel to Benghazi and elsewhere in Libya, including the entire southern region of the country.

“The Department of State warns U.S. citizens of the risks of traveling to Libya and strongly advises against all but essential travel to Tripoli and all travel to Benghazi, Bani Walid, and southern Libya,” the warning says, “including border areas and the regions of Sabha and Kufra. Because of ongoing instability and violence, the Department’s ability to provide consular services to U.S. citizens in these regions of Libya is extremely limited.”

Now they tell us. And we thought Obama had the terrorists on the run. And that Benghazi was old news.

Anyway, there goes another great vacation destination down the drain. First Mogadishu, then Damascus, now Benghazi.

The Department notice indicated that the security situation in Libya remains unpredictable, citing ”civil unrest” and “demonstrations” occuring [sic] throughout the country.

Has another video been posted to YouTube? We thought Nakoula Nakoula was safely packed away in solitary confinement in a California prison.

One Response to “State Dept Advises Against Travel To Benghazi”

  1. Petronius says:

“Has another video been posted to YouTube?”

    Indeed, yes!

In case you missed it on CNN, ABC, CBS, or NBC (heavy sarc), this recent video shows adherents of the religion-of-peace destroying a WWII British military cemetery in Libya.

While you watch this video, please remember that the people who filmed it were proud of what they were doing.

Please do not allow this video to incite you to any violent demonstrations!

It’s obviously just their way of saying “thanks” to Westerners who liberated Libya from Qadafi and the Nazis.
