RNC asks Steele to replace Mehlman

Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, whose party just lost both chambers of Congress, will leave his position in January, and the post as party chief has been offered to Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele.

"It is true," Mr. Mehlman told The Washington Times when asked about reports last night that he would resign. "It’s something I decided over the summer. No one told me I needed to. In fact, folks wanted me to stay."

Mr. Mehlman said he "told the White House over the summer it was my decision" to leave the RNC post, "win, lose or draw."

Also last night, Republican officials told The Times that Mr. Steele, who lost his bid for the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, has been sought out to succeed Mr. Mehlman as national party chairman. Those Republican officials said Mr. Steele had not made a decision whether to take the post, as of last night.

Other Republican Party officials said some Republican National Committee (RNC) members, including state party chairmen, have mounted a move to have Mr. Steele succeed Mr. Mehlman.

But they said that President Bush’s political adviser Karl Rove, who is Mr. Mehlman’s mentor, would rather see Mr. Steele serve in the president’s Cabinet, perhaps as secretary of Housing and Urban Development. These officials said no one has actually offered Mr. Steele either the RNC post or a Cabinet post.

Steele spokesman Doug Heye said last night that "I don’t know of any conversations that Lt. Gov. Steele has had on this topic, but I can tell you that there are many people who have said he would be an ideal candidate, based on the race he ran this year."

"I talked to him very briefly about it today. He has not made any decisions yet about what he will do next. He is still focused on his role as lieutenant governor," Mr. Heye said…

Of course the homsexual thug press is claiming that Mehlman is stepping down because of the heroic work of Mike Rogers and Bill Maher in outing any and all alleged Republican homosexuals.

Mehlman Resigns from RNC

The Disco’s Calling…

The poor GOP. First they get their asses pummelled (in a bad way) during Tuesday’s election, thus ushering in the first Democratic Congress in 12 years, now Ken Mehlman’s resigning from his post as head of the Republican Committee.

Mehlman insists he made the decision over the summer. He tells The Washington Times: "It’s something I decided over the summer. No one told me I needed to. In fact, folks wanted me to stay." Lt. Governor Michael Steele of Maryland, an opponent of gay-marriage, has been asked to replace Mehlman: a job that will require to peel the GOP off the pavement and reconstruct the party.

Hmmm. We believe this almost as much as we believe Bush decided to give Rumsfeld the boot before the election. We tend to think that Mehlman’s resignation stems more from BlogActive’s tenacious questioning and Bill Maher’s Larry King outing, which – as you may know – later got censored by the good folks over at CNN.

Now that he won’t be heading the RNC, does that mean Mehlman can spend more time at Roxy? We hear he absolutely loves to dance (even more than Sarah Jessica Parker in Girls Just Want to Have Fun, if you can believe it).

Although, we suppose it doesn’t really matter, as long as he’s gone."

It’s funny how most people forget that the leadership and much of the membership of the Nazis SA Brownshirts were homosexual.

The lesson these homosexuals are teaching us is that you cannot hire any homosexuals for any position of responsibility since they are open to blackmail. Which was always the reason behind our intelligence agencies not hiring them, for instance.

But where are the "rights groups" condemning this thuggish behavior?

(That’s a rhetorical question of course. Not even blackmail is a crime if done in the service of the Democrat agenda.)
