Leader: Islamic law source of justice

Wed, 05 Dec 2007

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei calls for promoting the Islamic judicial system by Muslim nations.

In a Wednesday meeting with judiciary chiefs from 56 Islamic countries, the Leader said the West is seeking to portray the Islamic law as unsuitable for today’s world.

“Unfortunately, the legal system of Islamic countries has been influenced by the West’s,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.

The Leader said while the world is in need of security and justice, ‘the so-called civilized societies’ violate human rights.

“While the so-called advocates of freedom treat Muslims in a discriminatory and degrading manner, the religious minorities in Iran enjoy peace and freedom,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader concluded that the Islamic law is the true source of justice for humanity.

Supreme Leader: World in dire need of justice, security

Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the world is in dire need of justice and security.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with participants of the first Summit of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Judiciary Chiefs in Tehran.

The so-called civilized countries who claim to advocate democracy in the West are now humiliating Muslims while in Islamic countries such as Iran religious minorities live in peace and freedom and continue their normal life and freely observe their rituals.

Islamic tenets are capable enough to meet the demands of humanity [m]ainly in administering justice and attaining self-confidence and trust in God, the Supreme Leader said, adding that the judiciary organizations in the Islamic countries should spare no effort to upgrade Islamic judicial system.

The Islamic nations should seize any opportunity to get closer to one another and help materialize Islamic causes, pointed out the Supreme Leader.

Islamic tenets are among the most advanced laws in the world, Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that the West by launching cultural inroads tries to insinuate that the Islamic tenets could not meet man’s needs in today’s world and that it is unfortunate that the judicial bodies in Islamic countries have been influenced by western law.

“Western culture and civilization are not able to administer justice or restore security to humanity,” said the Supreme Leader, adding “the progressive Islamic tenets are able to mee[t] the vital demands of people such as administration of justice.”

Referring to existing discrimination resulting from cultural, political and economic hegemony of the West, Ayatollah Khamenei cited tyranny of the Zionists against the defenseless Palestinian nation and the world’s silence as examples of such discriminations.

Under such circumstances Muslims should only trust the God Almighty, rely on themselves, forge unity and launch a pre-planned [c]ampaign to achieve their goals, Ayatollah Khamenei said…

Just be careful what you name your Teddy bear.
