  1. Congratulations Steve!

I’ve been reading S&L since early 2008, and it’s become an obsession. No where else on the web can you find such a wide array of stories with highly intellectual and pithy comments. Then there are the commenters whose posts are some of the most thoughtful things you’ll ever read online. I can always count on someone here making me think about things I’d never considered or making a point that’s outside of my experience. And there’s always those comments that cause a giggle or an outright spit on my screen laugh out loud.

Some of you people are so smart I’m glad you’re on our side. I don’t count myself as an intellectual and my posts prove that everyday, but I do enjoy you all putting up with me even when I’m stupid.

Thank you all, especially you Steve for making each day a little more informative and a lot more fun.

    We will never surrender.

I don’t post much. Hardly ever. But I read every word on S&L every day. I also love the photos, which often crack me up with their droll commentary.

The comments are also some of the most cogent I see anywhere. It’s a great combo.

I’m probably one of the many thousands of people who read most every day and don’t ever post. I should because this is a great site. It keeps me going.

Thanks for all the hard work. All of us silent types out here appreciate it very much.

(I also like the photos. Especially the bee ones. They always seem to match the passing seasons.)

    Happy Anniversary Steve!

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy reading your comments to the articles you post. The comments of those within the S&L community. It truly is the best place for new and information (and laughs) on the internet.

Thanks again for all you do to keep us informed

Many thanks for this site, Steve.
I’ve been part of the hive since August 2008 when I found
your link on the “Hold your nose……..” site.
The Hive has allowed me to keep with like minds and vanguard of America.
Its been a hell of a ride so far with dingleBarry at the helm trouncing our
    Constitution and defacing the taxpayers.
I said all along that the “houseboy” was over his head and the Presidency
    was no place for OJT.
    (RANT DONE)
    Happy Birthday
    God Bless all here!

Best to you Steve. I know there is huge amount of work involved given the quality of Sweetness & Light. I appreciate what you do.

“It is better to light a candle than curse the darkness” is a Chinese proverb meaning better to do something about a problem than just complain about it. Further, a candle is a small answer to a large problem, but it is still a worthy step in the right direction, rather than just bemoaning the problem (of darkness).
Means if you can change a bad situation it’s better to do that than to complain about it.

With Obama in charge, I often hear Churchill’s words: “When you’re going through hell, keep going.” Congrats Steve! – and to all the hive, for keeping going so magnificently.

  9. Godfather, we are blessed you do what you do. If you ever need a guest host, please contact Nozymaker, Rusty, Canary or Petronius.

I, too must express my sincerest gratitude for this site existing. It was the first one I eer posted on in a regular fashion and I always look to it for checking the pulse of the political climate.

I am so very thankful that you, Steve, have put this together and that it continues on. I also, like many here, appreciate the insights, thoughts and cleverness of the endearing family of posters. A great group, no doubt. Inspiring confindence that there is still a republic out here somewhere.
