Tax Deadbeat Sheehan Protests Evictions

Desperate to stay relevant and to get attention and money and Mardi Gras trips without having to work for them, Mother Sheehan has glommed onto the tragedy of Katrina being evicted from their hotel rooms after only five months free rent.

From Cindy’s cheerleaders at the Associated Press:

Peace Activist Protests in New Orleans

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

(02-14) 18:29 PST NEW ORLEANS, (AP) — Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan staged a protest at one of the city’s shuttered housing projects Tuesday, a day after 12,000 families left homeless by last year’s hurricanes were forced to leave their federally funded hotel rooms.

With her back to the boarded-up St. Bernard Housing Development, Sheehan criticized President Bush’s response to the storms, saying, "Everyone in America needs to come down here and see how unsafe, how insecure he’s made our world. "

Sheehan, who camped outside Bush’s ranch in Texas to protest the Iraq war, said the slow recovery in New Orleans is tied to the siphoning of federal dollars for foreign wars.

Sheehan’s 24-year-old son was killed in Iraq in 2004.

The St. Bernard project housed as many as 1,300 families before Hurricane Katrina. It is one of many housing developments that have not reopened, angering residents who say the poor are being forced out of the city.

On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency stopped paying for the hotel rooms of 12,000 families made homeless by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Not everyone gets all expense paid trips to New Orleans, Cindy. You live in a rarefied world of the professional protester.

How much of your $30,000 a pop speaking fees, book deals and the millions you have raised through your bogus "charity" have you given to Katrina victims?

You have announced you will no longer pay taxes:

Another thing that I’m doing is – – my son was killed in 2004, so I’m not paying my taxes for 2004. If I get a letter from the IRS, I’m gonna say, you know what, this war is illegal; this is why this war is illegal. This war is immoral; this is why this war is immoral. You killed my son for this. I don’t owe you anything. And if I live to be a million, I won’t owe you a penny.

And you have had problems paying your taxes in the past. Such as these tax liens from 1996 and 1998. (The latter, seems to have only been paid off with your son’s death benefits.)

If the government doesn’t have enough money to keep these people in hotels for the rest of their lives, aren’t you part of the problem?
