Terrorist Brags: More Like Me in Yemen

From ABC News:

Abdulmutallab: More Like Me In Yemen

Accused Northwest Bomber Says More Bombers On the Way; Al Qaeda Promises to Hit Americans

Dec. 28, 2009 — American officials have cause to worry there may be more al Qaeda-trained young men in Yemen planning to bring down American jets.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, charged with the attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Airlines flight 253, told FBI agents there were more just like him in Yemen who would strike soon.

And in a tape released four days before the attempted destruction of the Detroit-bound Northwest plane, the leader of al Qaeda in Yemen boasted of what was planned for Americans, saying, "We are carrying a bomb to hit the enemies of God." …

On Sunday, in its first communication since the failed Northwest Airline bombing, Al Qaeda in Yemen released a written statement about the December 17 air strike in Yemen. The statement called on "the people of the Arabian peninsula" to attack American military installations, ships and "spying embassies." …

Abdulmutallab led a life of privilege as the son of a prominent Nigerian banker.

He lived in an upscale neighborhood in London, attended top boarding schools and a London college.

Michael Rimmer, one of his former high school teachers, called him "a model student, very keen, very enthusiastic."

"He was a very nice, friendly person," said Efemena Mokedi, a former classmate. "He was a person who did a lot of good things."

In e-mails sent over the last six years, and obtained by ABC News, Abdulmutallab worried whether his religion would allow him to attend a high school prom, worried about low college SAT test scores, expressed opposition to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and then prior to breaking with his parents, questioned whether it was okay to lie to deceive the enemy.

Explained Clarke, "The kind of person, who’s being radicalized increasingly in the U.S. and in Europe, are people who are sons of the middle class, the upper middle class, sons of well educated families, people who have radicalized at long distance over the Internet." …

For the record, here is a report from six days ago, via the Agence France-Pressee:

Al-Qaeda vows revenge for Yemeni strike: TV

(AFP) – December 22, 2009

DUBAI — Men claiming to be Al-Qaeda members have vowed to avenge those killed in a Yemeni air strike on one of the group’s training camps in southern Yemen, Al-Jazeera television reported on Tuesday.

In a short video aired by the pan-Arab satellite channel, a bearded man holding a microphone and flanked by two armed men addressed a crowd gathered in the Abyan province to mourn those killed in Thursday’s air raid.

"We carry prayer beads and with them we carry a bomb for the enemies of God," the man said.

Al-Jazeera identified them as "armed men claiming to be from Al-Qaeda" and said they had also vowed revenge for the victims of the air raid.

Thursday’s air strike on the village of Al-Maajala killed 23 children and 17 women, a local official and tribal sources said. The government said it targeted a suspected Al-Qaeda training camp, killing around 30 militants, some of them foreigners.

"Know, (Yemeni) soldiers, that we do not want to fight you, and there is no issue between us," the bearded man said in the video.

"The issue is between us and America and its allies, and beware those who stand in the ranks of America." …

Of course this is all just a matter for local law enforcement.

If Obamy had decided to live in Africa instead of destroying the United States through it’s own political system, what would he be doing today?

He’s an idiot with money, so he couldn’t have become Bin Laden.

He’s too cautious to have become a dictator. They don’t pay any attention to the ballot box in Africa, and the dictators there can’t stay above the fray like they can in Chicago. It takes physical courage, because there are hundreds of others with equivalent ambition and tons more guts. Nix that option for the boy king.

To be a Saudi prince, you have to be descended directly from the goat herders cira 1910. Even the greatest liar who has ever lived couldn’t pull that one off.

To be a Mullah, you have to be 180 years old. Little napolean isn’t there yet.

Is there another role where he could have maximized his destructive power.

    Oh yeh……Terrorist.

Pro…my husband just said he doesn’t think Obalmy has the guts to be a terrorist…. Obalmy likes his comfort too much…and visualizing his own body parts flying through the air after his bomb vest explodes just doesn’t sound too comfortable.

    • proreason says:

You’re right Jobeth, and this is why the S&L peer review process is so important.

Obamy would be the kind of terrorist who recruits children and the mentally ill to blow THEMSELVES up. Kind of like his current role of encouraging old people to submit to the death panels so that illegal immigrants and deadbeats can have the health care they deserve.

    • jobeth says:

Yep, that sounds right up his alley. Just another, albeit a bit more lethal, version of “community organizing”.

    • tranquil.night says:

Pro, when you say recruit children to blow themselves up, in American terms that could mean using hollywood, music, and video game propoganda to encourage kids of all classes to feed every addictive impulsive alive. Plenty of personal experience witnessing that one.

    • TwilightZoned says:

Hmmm…not having the guts to be a terrorist
      and recruiting children/mentally ill.

      Stage right. Enter…Barry’s “brown shirts”

  2. Right of the People says:

Let’s hope the rest of them blow off their willies with binary explosives too.

If we had a real commander in chief instead of Blammo we’d send either a SEAL team or Delta to track down these imams in Yemen and give them all an Indian Beauty Mark and stop this nonsense now.

  3. Reality Bytes says:

Gee, he seems so “clean & articulate” too.

    • Liberals Demise says:

Maybe Barry will get him a job making $150,000.00 a yr. as the new WH Human Resource officer.

  4. eaglewingz08 says:

Imagine if a Christian had said, “I carry Rosary Beads and a bomb for all enemies of Christendom.”? Only then would the lamestream media brand that person a terrorist. Socialist journos, same yesterday, same today, same forever, SICK & STUUUUUPID.

  5. wirenut says:

Is it just me or does this sound strikingly similar? Middle class, so called educated, etc. The “sixties” collage scene comes to my mind. Indoctrinate the weak or hopeless and turn them lose. I also think it’s not American officials that have cause for worry, it’s the American public.

  6. canary says:

Earlier reports said Umar was only student to wear skull cap, constantly pushing extremist Islam on his class-mates. Maybe they should keep their eye on this classmate, he was nice way back in elementary school.

“He was a very nice, friendly person,” said Efemena Mokedi, a former classmate. “He was a person who did a lot of good things.”

Hopefully his exploding underwear made it impossible for him to procreate.

Web posts suggest lonely, depressed terror suspect

By JON GAMBRELL, Associated Press Writer Jon Gambrell, Associated Press Writer – 20 mins ago

LAGOS, Nigeria – Internet postings purportedly written by a Nigerian charged with trying to bomb a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day suggest a fervently religious and lonely young man who fantasized about becoming a Muslim holy warrior.

Throughout more than 300 posts, a user named “Farouk1986” reflects on a growing alienation from his family, his shame over sexual urges and his hopes that a “great jihad” will take place across the world.

The postings seem hastily written and are replete with spelling and grammar errors. In one, on Jan 28. 2005, he wrote: “i am in a situation where i do not have a friend, i have no one to speak too, no one to consult, no one to support me and i feel depressed and lonely. i do not know what to do.”

“I imagine how the great jihad will take place, how the muslims will win, insha Allah and rule the whole world, and establish the greatest empire once again!!!” reads one Feb. 20, 2005, post. The words “insha Allah” are the phonetic translation of the Arabic for “God willing.”

Yes, clearly his biggest problem was his alienation and “being sad”.
