Terror Attack On European Cities Is Foiled

From the UK’s Sky News:

Terror Plot To Attack European Cities Foiled

Intelligence agencies have intercepted a terror plot to launch Mumbai-style attacks on Britain and other European countries, according to Sky News sources.

Sky’s foreign affairs editor Tim Marshall said militants based in Pakistan were planning simultaneous strikes in London, as well as cities in France and Germany.

He said the plan was in an "advanced but not imminent stage" and the plotters had been tracked by spy agencies "for some time".

Marshall said an increase in drone attacks in Pakistan in the past few weeks was linked to attempts by Western powers to disrupt the plot.

He said the planned attacks would have been similar to the commando-style raids carried out in Mumbai by Pakistan-based gunmen in 2008.

US officials said America appeared to have increased drone aircraft attacks against al Qaeda-linked militants in Pakistan and might have killed a senior leader of the terror group.

The officials declined to comment on specific plots in Europe or elsewhere but acknowledged drone strikes in Pakistan were meant to disrupt militant networks planning attacks.

Marshall added: "I am led to believe a number of these (drone) attacks were designed against the leadership of this particular plot, which had an al Qaeda and possibly some sort of Taliban connection projecting into Europe.

"And they have killed several of the leaders – which is why the terror threat has not risen." …

In France on Tuesday, the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding Champ de Mars park were evacuated briefly because of a bomb alert.

It was the fourth such alert in the Paris area in as many weeks.

French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux said on September 20 that France faced a real terrorism threat due to a backlash from al Qaeda militants in North Africa.

He said there were growing fears of an attack from home-grown terrorist cells within French borders.

Further reports have suggested that the targets were to be foreign tourists staying in hotels in Great Britain, France and Germany.

But notice that even Sky News (the Fox News of the UK) does not mention the religious persuasion of the suspects. Or maybe they assume that by now everyone sees ‘terror’ as shorthand for ‘Muslim.’

The AP has now reported that the Eiffel Tower was targeted and several tourist hotels, particularly those with Americans. This is said to be retaliation for drone attacks.

Al-Qaeda-linked ‘terror plot’ targeting Europe foiled – Yahoo! News

The Times Square bomber is classed by our military as a successful attack because it was completely under the radar and only dumb luck and those alert (both of them military veterans) T-shirt vendors and a very prepared NY police dept. saved the day. It’s only a matter of time before some attack is successful, and it could be anywhere in the “Satanic West.”

Jurors see car bomb explode at Riverdale synagogue-plot trial – NYPOST.com

Prosecutors yesterday showed a car being blown to bits by the same type of bombs a group of Muslim converts allegedly thought they were deploying against two Bronx synagogues last year……

“Both vehicles were destroyed, and the resulting fragmentation wave significantly damaged most of the targets in the set-up,” he testified.

Defense lawyers had tried to prevent jurors from seeing the video. “There’s no evidence any of the defendants had any idea of what kind of explosion this would cause,” lawyer Mark Gombiner argued. He also said it was unfair to have so many dummies near the car, noting that he used to live in Riverdale and never saw that many people outside the synagogues at around 9 p.m., the time of the planned May 20, 2009, attacks.”

OK, you’re so right. That is totally irrelevant evidence.

DingleBarry is on top of the situation. In fact he told writer (Bob Woodward) that America can absorb another attack by the religion of peace.
We are so lucky to have a man of such stature manning the helm of freedom.
He has basically offered up our soft underbelly to our enemies as a gesture of our willingness to bargain with killers of women and children.

Treason comes to my mind. Does he really think his chillins’ will be exempt?

  2. proreason says:

Since capitalists are likely to be the target of the next attack, the moron was probably misquoted when he so casually said “we can absorb it”.

He probably meant to say that “we can absolve it”.

Now it’s Terror plot is still active.

This media article is knowingly vague in comparison to all the mainstream news in the last couple of weeks.
Those doing the talking are Pakistan, while the U.S. remains hush. This is the reasoning behind the reported increase of drones that Pakistan is complaining of, giving their reports of high operatives killed, so we should leave. Pakistan also wants their people to believe they aren’t doing the missiles & drones.

Big news was a Pakistan once again claiming a the chief al Qaeda was killed. Reports by so called unidentified officials to the media have been naming terrorist leaders who are not on the list. Different accounts the chief was in a Datsun truck, w/3 others, that it was missiles at his house, or a drone on a hub, or a drone that demolished his vehicle. All sources I’ve read are unidentified Pakistanians.

When asked a week or so again, on C-Span, Obama denied to a reporter’s putting him on the spot, that there is an increase in terrorist attempts in the U.S. Obama denied this and said only the public’s “fear” has “increased”.

AP: Officials: Terror plot still active
    By Paisley Dodds

LONDON — Security officials said Wednesday a terror plot to wage Mumbai-style shooting sprees or other attacks in Britain, France and Germany is still active….

The plot was still in its early stages and not considered serious enough to raise the terror threat level, officials said. Still, the Eiffel Tower in Paris was briefly evacuated Tuesday — the second time in two weeks because of an unspecified threat — and French police were on alert…

“This plot was in its embryonic stages,” a British government official told The Associated Press, speaking on condition of anonymity…., but did not merit changing the security threat level from severe to critical….

Intelligence authorities used National Security Agency wiretaps to flesh out details, U.S. officials said, and while a Mumbai-style shooting spree was one possibility, there was no concrete plan. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity…

“We are not going to comment on specific intelligence as doing so threatens to undermine intelligence operations that are critical in protecting the United States and our allies,” Clinton said.

“As we have repeatedly said, we know that al-Qaida and its network of terrorists wishes to attack both European and U.S. targets.

The Department of Homeland Security would not say Wednesday whether U.S. security has been enhanced as a result of the terror threats in Europe.

It also came as Spanish authorities announced they had arrested an American citizen of Algerian origin on suspicion of financing al-Qaida’s North African affiliate.

Mohamed Omar Debhi, 43, was taken into custody Tuesday, although Spain’s Interior Ministry said the arrest was not connected to the terror threat….
