Terrorists Murder At Least 80 In Mumbai

From The Times Of India:

Terror attacks in Mumbai; 16 dead, several injured

27 Nov 2008

MUMBAI: Terror struck the country’s financial capital late on Wednesday night as coordinate serial explosions and indiscriminate firing rocked
eight areas across Mumbai including the crowded CST railway station, two five star hotels
–Oberoi and Taj– leaving 16 persons dead and 50 injured.

Armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades, a couple of terrorists entered the passenger hall of CST and opened fire and threw grenades, Mumbai General Railway Police Commissioner A K Sharma said.

The terror strike which began at 10:33 PM at Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus(CST), formerly known as the Victoria Terminus(VT), claimed 10 lives in the premises of the station alone, police said.

Three persons were killed in a bomb explosion in a taxi on Mazegaon dockyard road and an equal number were gunned down at Taj Hotel. The victims in the hotel were its employees.

The lobby of the Oberoi hotel was on fire and the hotel evacuated, eyewitnesses said.

Maharashtra DGP A N Roy said tonight’s attack in “at least seven places” is a “terror strike.” …

Gosh, this is shocking.

That is, it is shocking the article quotes someone calling the perpetrators “terrorists.”

Usually terrorism never gets mentioned in these attacks until they are long since forgotten.

[Note that the Times Of India is now saying that at least 80 people have been killed by the terrorists.]

obamy will have to talk to the naughty scamps.

But really, who can blame poverty stricken people of color, probably with low-esteem created by under-funded education systems, when they lash out in justified frustration at countries like India for practicing capitalism, overpaying CEO’s and being intolerant of jihad.

  2. Lipstick on a PIAPS says:

I guess someone forgot to tell the terrorists that the terrorist sympathiser won the US Presidential elections. Or else they are putting on a good show so they can demand even higher ransom for them to be good. Like the Clinton years, first it starts FAR AWAY and then closer and closer.

  3. pinandpuller says:

What they need are some good gun control laws in that country.

One of my closest friends died in last night’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai. This is just insane… I have no words

  5. Liberals Demise says:

Why is it that I feel there is a stearn tongue lashing (Clinton style) followed by a (Clinton style) missle launch on a baby formula factory followed by High Fives and knuckle bumping by the Clinton/obama administration over this? Those who do not learn from their mistakes are “DOOMED” to repeat the same mistakes. ” Oh what a wicked web we weave…..”
Now….maybe India will join in the fight, in force!!

  6. DGA says:

Well, let’s hope that India can step up the fight against islamofascists, we sure as hell won’t get in there and do it anymore, we’ll be too busy burying cash in coffee cans in our backyards.

Thanks a lot DGA :( Now I have to go dig it all up and find a new hiding place.

Like women buying shoes, an ammo purchase always makes me feel better.

    sen-

I don’t know if anything we can say here can be of comfort to you but many of us here are thinking about you and praying for you and your friend’s family.

We as Americans are very fortunate but things like this could touch our lives at any time.

I guess all that we can do is live each day to the fullest. Kiss our kids on the foreheads, no matter how old they are, and tell them we love them. Give our spouse’s or SO’s a big hug after work and tell them we love them too and are thankful every day.

I found some plastic containers at an Army surplus store one time. I think they were designed to hold bazooka rounds since LAW’s are disposable. Their diameter was similar to a medium coffee can and it was about 2 feet long. The top twisted down and had a rubber gasket seal. I suppose you could use it to bury maps in your back yard ;). I would say instead of saving your change every night, copper jacketed slugs are the way to go. There are plenty of stores in my town that exchange that particular currency. Did you ever see the movie “Johnny Dangerously”? Come on by if you need to borrow a cup of bullets…

The AP is now reporting the previously mentioned “terrorists” as “suspected Muslim militants.” http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_india_shooting I wonder how long it’ll be until the word “terrorist” is sanitized from the previous accounts.

  12. GuppyNblue says:

Time.com (I linked via Yahoo) just put out an exhaustive and sympathetic article for the Muslim terrorist.

“That sense of injustice is at the root of Muslim identity today. It has permeated every aspect of society, and forms the basis of rising Islamic radicalism on the subcontinent. “People are hungry for justice,” says Ahmed Rashid, Pakistani journalist and author of the new book Descent Into Chaos. “It is perceived to be the fundamental promise of the Koran.” These twin phenomena – the longing many Muslims have to see their religion restored as the subcontinent’s core, and the marks of both piety and extremism Islam bears – reflect the lack of strong political and civic institutions in the region for people to have faith in. If the subcontinent’s governments can’t provide those institutions, then terrorists such as the Trident’s mysterious caller, will continue asking questions. And providing their own answers.”

Would they have the same sympathy for Christians under these circumstances?

I love your sense of humor, Guppy.

  14. sen says:

    Thanks for your wishes, pinandpuller.

The news is still sinking in. He was only 27, and was all set to marry his college sweetheart on Dec 6. It’s just unreal… simply unreal. And all the while, we are supposed to “commiserate” and “pacify” these bloodthirsty monsters. Most Americans don’t realize how fortunate they have been to have had Bush at the helm since 9/11. The fact that America has not been attacked ever since is a testament to his leadership. I only wish my country had someone similar at the helm.

  15. Helena says:

sen – How horrible. I’m so sorry for your loss. And how horrible for his fiance and family. So many people died for senseless hatred. God help India and Kashmir against these bloodthirsty maniacs.
