The 1980 Bush-Reagan Debate On Taxes

Today would have been Mr. Reagan’s 99th birthday.

What better way to celebrate it than to remember just how wise he was about so many things, especially taxes:

Bush-Reagan Debate 1980 on Taxes

It is too easy to forget just how truly radical the great man was.

And how right he was proved to be.

To the angel assigned to Ronnie Reagan: Great Work. Please send our best.

PS: After Reagan left office, Time magazine ran a cover story with the title “Overturning the Reagan Revolution” across an upside down portrait of the President….

I still have that issue – it’s framed in my office….upside down with “Ronnie” smiling back at us even after all these years.

My first vote & I was proud it was for such a great guy like him.

I love Ronald Reagan and hope to meet him, one day, in heaven. Any of the Bushes are lucky to have ever met him. They never had my support except to hold my nose and vote for them against the socialists. I hate the Bushes as much as I hate the Clintons. I pray to God they read these words and realize that all of them together don’t merit the finger-nail clipping of this great man named, Ronald Reagan.

If the Bushes had 1/1000th of the wisdom of Reagan, we wouldn’t be in the miserable situtation we’re in today. They should beg forgiveness, but they won’t due to their ignorant arrogance. I hated Bush Senior (like most people) and prayed that Bush Junior wouldn’t be so stupid. He was, and here we are. No matter what W may have done post 9/11, he’ll be remembered in history as the man that screwed up so badly, he gave the country to our enemies. I hate you and your family for being so wrong.

I’ll go in debt to support another Reagan. I’ll go in debt OPPOSING any Bush. They are the same as McCain, Graham, etc…

The only other Regan worth his salt is his adopted son, Michael who rightfully thinks the world of his dad. RR’s own biological children are VERY liberal as is Nancy. Odd isn’t it.

    God, I miss him.

Oh, how I miss that man and his common sense.

When I think of where we are today…well, it’s just damn depressing.

Happy Birthday President Regan…who joins Washington and Lincoln in being one of the very few really great Presidents of these United States of America.

Let’s just hope other’s like Sarah can score a new era for the “Gipper”. She holds his values and ideas.

The Tea Party movement is a tribrute to him, as most of us can remember the values he brought to our country on the National Level. We can do it again in his honor.

  7. The media could learn a lot from this video. One of the reasons we saw an exchange like that is because the moderator knew his role and kept his mouth shut. Today’s media moderators always interject when the conversation becomes useful because they think debates are about them and not the candidates.

Thanks for the clip. Reagan never gets old.

  8. Ronald Reagan was the only president I am aware of with a college degree in economics. He understood Laffer and Friedman at a level that few others do.
