Columbus was a opportunist – from what I have read of history in that time period – a lot of people were – which may have been why so many people fled to the ‘new’ world to escape it. Unlike what the elite morons are teaching – not to bring it here.

Do they really think that people from Europe and the surrounding areas would have dared venture west to find America if it wasn’t for Columbus doing it first? Do they forget that people thought the world was flat and that they would have sailed off of the edge of the world?

I sometimes think that the ultimate irony would be that if you could corner one of these self-righteous teachers into a discussion about time travel and ask them if they went back in time and could stop Cristoforo Colombo from reaching the New World, would they? And if they answer “yes” then I would tell them, “Then you, most likely, would cease to exist”.

Then explain about the socio-economic impact the discovery made and how manifest destiny, whether right or wrong, resulted in the eventual founding of the USA.
