‘The Chain Of Mendacity’ (Succession)

Recent events have made us reflect upon the regard for truth in the current political leaders of the land.

We are told that Mr. Obama’s followers willingly accept the fact that he is lying when he says things about subjects like ‘gay marriage,’ that they might not want to believe.

It is now abundantly clear that Mr. Obama’s campaign pledges — from relying on public financing, to ending military tribunals — were never meant to be taken seriously.

But the overwhelming mendacity in the political leadership of our country doesn’t stop there.

This may be well expressed by a glance at the line of succession to Mr. Obama, as specified by the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 (3 U.S.C. § 19):

1. Vice President Joe Biden — seemingly an out of control serial liar, who says just about about anything that crosses his mind whether it is true or not.

2. Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi — even before her lies about her CIA briefings, we had her plane requests (which she denied) and several other instances where she said Botox-faced lies.

3. President Pro Tempore Of The Senate Robert Byrd — maybe he isn’t a serial liar. But is he honest? Who can tell these days?

4. Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton — one of the longest, most brilliant careers as a liar — from cattle futures, to Whitewater, the Rose Law firm billing records, through to her tales of sniper fire in Bosnia.

And the rest of the list isn’t any more reassuring…

5. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner

6. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates

7. Attorney General Eric Holder

8. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar

9. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack

10. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke

11. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis

12. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius

13. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan

14. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood

15. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu

16. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan

17. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki

18. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano

What a sorry testimony to the state of politics in our country.

It may be said that any one of these people, in an effort to actually mislead, could accidentally tell the truth.

Until it gets down to Gates, I still have to go with Biden.

I much prefer a doltish clown to devious bolshevics, power fanatics, and flagrant criminals.

…..”3. President Pro Tempore Of The Senate Robert Byrd — maybe he isn’t a serial liar. But is he honest? Who can tell these days?….”

I might add, ‘Is he even alive?’ to the questions. I mean, “Who can tell these days?”

Reminds me of the morbid joke a few years back about how Dan Quayle was Bush’s life insurance. Surely no one would want to have Quayle as president!

Seriously, it is a scary proposition if something was to happen to President Obama. Senator Byrd is a former card carrying member of the KKK that didn’t truly renounce the views until in office for nearly 35 years. And you’ve got Pelosi before you get to Byrd. How did the Republicans possibly lose the leadership of Congress to these two?

Could we possibly get all 18 at one time? Could we be that lucky? I fear for my country, I’m going take my meds now along with a bottle of Wild Turkey. 10-7

If it does get down to Hillary, don’t buy the stories of o-blah-blah’s, pelosi’s, reid’s, or byrd’s suicide. Even if there is a note. And they find them in a park.
