As with most people today I’ve been watching the news about the school shooting in Connecticut. Emotions are high and I’ve deliberately kept away from the news and web forums–both to avoid getting entangled in new arguments and because there’s nothing new to be said.

I wish…..I really wish the gun control crowd would understand how much these things bother us. I can’t picture anything more difficult for a parent to go through then losing a child, especially as a result of sudden and unneeded violence. We hate the people who did this; every time I hear of a shooting like this it churns my stomach.

Already in the news the story is shaping up like it usually does–the shooter had problems and shouldn’t have had access to guns in the first place. If we ban all the guns why not lock up everyone with erratic and suspicious behavior? It’s the same approach.

The same comparisons are always made; if the shooter didn’t have a gun….yet on the same day in China a man slashed 22 children in a school with a knife. Conversely is the argument if everyone was armed then someone would have taken the guy out.

What is lost is in the countries with high gun ownership but low crime like Switzerland or Israel these are also places where everyone is pretty much on the same page and the society is not very diverse and everyone has to pull their own weight. In a country of over 300 million people, with a multicultural quagmire of every belief being held as valid, and entitlement taking precedence over unity–I’m surprised there isn’t more violence.

I remember the dark days of the Clinton years, when after Waco and Ruby Ridge I felt careful about who I mentioned owning guns to as the knee jerk reaction was you had to have been a crazed militia member. Then came Columbine; I look back on the event now with a very cynical view–the media knew Clinton was term limited to less than two years in office, and I think that was why it was hyped up so much. All the talk about trigger locks and having to get an arsenal license if you owned too many guns; none of it would solve a thing if someone makes a sale to a bad guy that was already illegal in the first place.

The liberals assume they are in the position of right and always will be; wasn’t it Harry Belafonte this week saying the “Will of the People” is what Obama was for and he should just lock up the opposition like a dictator? Yet if they weren’t trying to turn everything into a cry for more legislation, pointing fingers and accusing gun owners of being part of the crime–if the goal was instead to pull the community together, gun owners would be bending over backwards to help. Many do regardless.

The registration doesn’t work; nothing stops a registered owner from passing all the background checks from doing something illegal; the same as a licensed car driver may decide to run someone over. I remember one shooting in Hawaii, the shooter had become violent at work and was making threats, but the police didn’t take his guns because they’d lost the paperwork. Solution? All the guns in the state had to be re-registered.

They know this, which is why the ultimate goal is large scale bans like what happened in Australia and England. Those countries have been lost so long it’s hard to believe they ever had widespread gun ownership.

Will these incident be the push for the Obama gun ban everyone is dreading? I don’t know, I just am so very tired of it all.

    • Mithrandir says:

There should be a POLITICAL 6 month cooling off period before discussing gun issues.

Only under tyranny, does the population fear its rights will be taken away at any time, instead of confident FREE PEOPLE whose rights are guaranteed by the constitution, and not subject to political meddling, or emotional knee-jerk reactions, OR loud minorities that gave us prohibition.

So, during this awful time in our history, are you confident about the security of your rights, or fearful?

    • Enthalpy says:

We can expect “our” government to regulate guns so well since they’re so masterful at running everything else. When I was in high school, we had a shooting range in the school basement. No one was ever shot-ever.

Ceding our rights to the crazies who now allegedly represent us would be one of the worst and last mistakes we would ever make as a free people.

    • GetBackJack says:

Mith, other than libs are crazy, here are some facts I thrash white liberals with – 1. T’was the Democrat Party that led the USA into Civil War. 2. T’was the Democrat Party that created the KKK. 3 T’was the Democrat Party that inspired eugenics in America, otherwise known as Margaret Sanger, aimed at eliminating blacks. T’was the Republican Party that fought the Democrats to abolish slavery, in fact the Republican Party was anti-slavery activist in its formation.

  2. Mithrandir says:

Rob Parker, resident ESPN race-baiter, said Washington Redskin’s QB RGIII is not authentic, not “down for the struggle” etc.

Q: If black conservatives are Uncle Tomming, self-race-hating, racial sell-outs that have no interest in helping their own people, and in fact want to keep their own people down……

What the heck are WHITE LIBERALS?

  3. River0 says:

“If he couldn’t have gotten a gun, those children wouldn’t be dead!” Yes, and if my drug addict friend couldn’t have gotten his heroin overdose, he wouldn’t be dead from heroin.

But you can’t eliminate these things without creating a police state. Even then, as in our prisons, criminals can get contraband of all kinds.

The child killer is beyond evil. There is no “motive”, as human beings understand motive. The Nazis, Communists, and Fascists had monetary motives and political/social scapegoating motives for their crimes. This shooter – and many others – are truly inhuman. I say they’re Satanic, and are possessed by inhuman evil, beyond our understanding. Children are largely innocent, and as such, are an expression of God. Killing them is like killing God. Satan can’t give life, as God does. He can only corrupt and kill, which he does gleefully.

How easy it is for evil to cloak itself in righteousness. Did you see Obama shedding a tear in front of the cameras yesterday? This man who endorses late-term abortion, where living babies are “eliminated” with scissors into the neck! And how about Marxist economic policies that oppress us and guarantee millions will never have good jobs, economic freedom, and prosperity. As Reagan famously said, “There is no freedom without economic freedom.”

In times of widespread, intensifying chaos, social upheaval, and psychopathology, the weak-minded and deranged blossom forth into Satanic manifestation like this Connecticut killer. These people are nurtured in the muck of negativity and desperation that ‘progressives’ foster in our society.

Now we’ll see a full court press to further restrict freedom and liberty, starting with guns and metastasizing throughout all facets of life. How can the 300 million + guns in America be found and disposed of?

No, what we need are a lot more people packing them. Everywhere. So that every Satanic scumbag will be unsure of his/her safety.

Why won’t someone stand up and say,”Outlaw guns? Sure! That will solve it! What a good idea! While we’re at it, why not outlaw drugs, booze, and all crimes? That will do the trick.” Progressives are responsible for stupid laws going back to 1900, starting with prostitution.

    • mr_bill says:

You have to love their liberal reasoning: make guns illegal and these things won’t happen. If all it takes is passing a law, the law against murder would have stopped this, but it didn’t. In all the history of the world, bad people have done bad things and will continue to do so, regardless of what laws exist and the availability of dangerous items.

    • Mithrandir says:

      That’s right Mr. B.

Grabbing guns is another cover-up for their disastrous policy. They destroy morality, religion, the nuclear family, and basically institute moral relativism in every facet of life, BUT THEN when someone is not able to determine right and wrong, the liberals are quick to run out there and blame something else, less people start putting 2 & 2 together, and we can’t have that!

Tax the rich to pay off voters, who are dependent on disastrous welfare policies.

Tax the rich again to cover up for criminally insane spending policies.

Blame business for global warming to cover up for the fact they are just inventing wedge issues to divide the nation, and also find a way to control everyone’s life.

I will bet the deed to our Ranch

SSRIs were in this kid´s bloodstream. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, the designation for a class of antidepressants.

SSRIs are 90%+ fluoride. Ann Blake Tracy, Ph.D., author of Prozac: Panacea or Pandora?, has been studying the violent, dark side of SSRI drugs for ten years. She has researched 32 murder/suicides that involved women and their children. By interviewing their families and studying autopsy reports, news accounts and medical histories, she has determined that in 24 of these 32 cases, the women were taking Prozac or another SSRI.

Guess what? Last count nearly 120 million Americans take an SSRI every day.

And in the last law enforcement study of this phenomenon, 31 of 32 mass shooters were on some form of SSRIs.

  5. yadayada says:

“I will bet the deed to our Ranch SSRIs were in this kid´s bloodstream”

reports are saying he had mental/emotional/social instabilities…

most of the mass shooters were also fairly young. SSRIs and youth don’t mix. says so right there on the bottle. warns they may INCREASE suicidal and homicidal ideation. how many of our youth (25 & under for sake of argument) in this country are doped up on these “anti”depressants? then (and let’s be absolutely honest here) self medicate occasionally with THC, meth, spice, energy drinks, or alcohol? all of which are clinically and scientifically known to alter the effects of those drugs. even tobacco use alters the effects of most SSRIs.

our culture grows increasingly lazy and apathetic. our kids don’t know how to think critically or deal with normal day-to-day stressors, so lazy apathetic culture says, “take a magic pill.”

arguably it because we grow further from the teachings of God and attempt to rely upon our own understanding.
the entire old testament is an instruction manual regarding this issue. in many ways I understand RiverO’s view of our struggles in the light of good vs Evil. not just in the matter of US as a nation, but the world in general with US as a leader and example of what God given liberty and ideals are capable of.
I see “progressives” as the enemy’s tool to destroy people’s souls. currently they seem to have the upper hand in our culture, doing their best to remove God at every instance. they will not succeed, but, as happens in every war many will suffer during the struggle.

    pick your side.
but choose wisely, as the outcome was determined from the beginning.

The Connecticut mom should not have introduced her young autistic son to those guns not made them available to them. As a teacher I’m sure she was highly educated and aware of his mental and social conditions particularly at his age.

Also, if you have guns and have responsible youth living with you, you must take into regards their friends and acquaintances and their curiosity. Especially curious boys and teens and their risk taking tendencies.

Bad judgement and I would not doubt lawsuits against her estate.

    • canary says:

Chicago C A I R starting nationwide ad campaign and new organizations called “my g had” dot org. This along with all new federal law enforcement and military manuals changing to embrace the muslim’s inhumane treatment upon themselves and others will really put national security in a pickle. Policeman: “What? He said he was going to do g had on an entire school?. Sorry, nothing wrong with that.”

The widely respected Dictionary of Islam defines Jihad as “A religious war with those who are unbelievers in the mission of Muhammad. It is an incumbent religious duty, established in the Qur’an and in the Traditions as a divine institution, and enjoined specially for the purpose of advancing Islam and of repelling evil from Muslims…[Quoting from the Hanafi school, Hedaya, 2:140, 141.], “The destruction of the sword is incurred by infidels, although they be not the first aggressors, as appears from various passages in the traditions which are generally received to this effect.”

Some of the newer edited English versions of the Quran now have put Ji had in watered down verses to further mislead non-believers.

And only the original Arabic version is acceptable by Islam.

And so now it will be even more difficult to know the good from the bad.

Because C A I R is going to go far with this and we are going to see and hear the politically incorrect use when they say they will perform it on you and your family.

And why could the Muslims not say MyStruggle in order to make peace in this country and get along. They are not to even associate with non-believers. They make no effort for peace, but
force their beliefs on our country, because that is their greatest calling.

  6. canary says:

Shame on Obama for blaming politics on his first words on the shooting.

I could not see or find one tear or speck of moisture in Obama’s eyes and I’ve watched over and over and enlarged.

He did not choke up. He paused trying to read the little last minute notes, great difficulty in reading the scripture.

He is more focused on his 3 week trip to Hawaii. Will Karzai come out of hiding and meet him there for a a break and to threaten Obama to pay compensation for innocent children getting blown up by bombs.

    • canary says:

Obama likes events that consume the media, so he can get away and do more damage.

He is probably saying the chickens have gone come home to roost. He was immune to Chicago violence, gang bangers, and sex offenders, and of those he grew up with and supported the offenders he went to church with. He worked with the murderous bomber Bill Ayers to lesson punishment for violent youth.

Just as Chicago is complaining too many minority and mentally disturbed children are punished, Obama sympathizes with the bullied and minorities, and union thugs he encourages
      to target people.

      He tortured and ate animals.
Those poor tired overworked water buffaloes he’d poke with a stick.

His sympathy in new federal manuals is for the poor misunderstood Muslims whose culture is one of cruelty and intolerance.

He is glad this tragedy has happened because as he promised he was going to something about it, and not let politics get in his way.

  7. canary says:

Maybe the Connecticut shooter got confused because Obama keeps calling the Muslim youth hero’s.

Then Bengazhi Obama and media saying a cartoon led to Libya protestors using assault weapons because of that awful cartoon.

The weeks of shootings in the streets over that cartoon.

And did Obama ask Libya or Egypt or any country to ban guns or weapons.

The Muslim Youth being praised as hero’s for overthrowing governments to democracy.

The wonderful Arab Spring of daily shootings and bombings.

At anytime has Obama demanded Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, or any country on this earth to ban assault weapons or guns?

Has Obama ordered Africa to quit giving those little young children assault weapons and getting them addicted to heroin?

Obama and the schools teach us that Islam is a peaceful religion. So, maybe the mentally impaired man got confused.

Apparently, his mother quit teaching for some time at the school, living in her mini mansion. And it drove the kid crazy living with her.

Maybe she told her son she did not like the school anymore, and he liked it better when she wasn’t at home and got angry at the school she had taught at before quitting.

Thank God that gun shop refused to sell him a gun so they can’t be sued. Then they’d have the doctor that failed to report him a danger to the public responsible.
