Nice color contrast on the bee and flower!

  2. Obama Warns of Grim ‘Meat-Cleaver’ Spending Cuts
    From ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/po.....ding-cuts/

Obama is going back to his 2007/2008 “meat cleaver” philosophy again. As if any butcher would use a scalpel to cut fat. It’s as if Washington is so well run, that any perceptible fat would only require surgeon-like precision in order not to damage the surrounding tissue.

You know, when you read about all the things that will be cut, I just don’t have any negative reaction to any of it.

“It will jeopardize our military readiness.” –You mean the combined might of the other 2-13th ranked countries combined? I don’t think so. We need LESS people spread out in our empire, not more.

“Emergency responders, like the ones who are here today, their ability to help communities respond to and recover from disasters, will be degraded.” –Another good way to wean the public. People need to stop waiting for government, and start doing things themselves.

“Border Patrol agents will see their hours reduced.”–So what? They aren’t allowed to really stop anyone anyway, and are embarrassingly ineffective anyway.

“Tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find child care for their kids.” –HUZZAH! Maybe 1 parent will stay home now and take care of their own kids, instead of jamming them into government incubators.

“Hundreds of thousands of Americans will lose access to primary care and preventive care like flu vaccinations and cancer screenings.”–Puh! Not at all, not even close! Walgreens gives out flu shots for a cheap price, and cancer screening will not halt under any circumstances unless the clinic/hospital wants a giant law suit.

“FBI agents will be furloughed.”–GOOD! You mean our oppressors will have to kick down doors when they return from vacation with back pay?

“Federal prosecutors will have to close cases and let criminals go.”–AWWWWW, you mean the Legal Industrial Complex will have to take a vacation from shoving fresh victims through the grinder? What will probation officers do without a revolving door of fresh prosecutions?

“Air traffic controllers and airport security will see cutbacks, which means more delays at airports across the country.”–Nah, that won’t happen. The life-blood of our economy will be bailed out like it always has.

“Thousands of teachers and educators will be laid off.” –Fantastic news! The indoctrinators will also have less money to contribute to the democratic party. Thank god! Cut 1000 more!

“Obama noted that the Pentagon has already delayed the deployment of an aircraft carrier group to the Persian Gulf…” –Good, send it to shore up the southern border from all those laid off agents, and we will save more money as well.

What new threat can he possibly dream up, in which the government does LESS that would worry me? Nothing! People learn to do without. That’s the nature of life.

Google Search: “Obama Warns” = 1,770,000 hits. –A sure sign of a narcissist and a tyrant. Someone who wants everything HIS way, and threatens and warns people into compliance.

When Republicans continue to cave-in, time after time, it just encourages more of this behavior. You think they would stand firm ONCE and teach this guy and the entire general public a lesson on what government does to you when it doesn’t get its way.

“You think they would stand firm ONCE …”

      At one time people did.
” Children in the United States are taught early in life to sing ‘My Country, ‘tis of thee’, in which the main verse goes:

      My Country, ‘tis of thee
      Sweet land of liberty
      Of thee I sing
      Land where my fathers died
      Land of the Pilgrims’ pride
      From every mountainside-
      Let freedom ring!

This is an averagely sentimental ditty, but it was promoted to immortality by the great Dr Martin Luther King, in the imperishable speech that he made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, at the climax of the civil rights ‘March on Washington’ in the spring of 1963. Seizing the familiar words of the schoolroom for his peroration, he demanded that freedom should ring from every hilltop, north and south, from New Hampshire to California and down to Mississippi, until the original promise of the United States had been kept for all its citizens. ‘If America is to be a great nation,’ he proclaimed, ‘this must become true.’
‘My Country, ‘tis of thee’ would be a fairly easy song for British schoolchildren to master as well. It is sung, for one thing, to the tune of the National Anthem. This rather unimaginative hymn – the first national anthem in the world, as it happens – seems to have originated as a Jacobite chanson, but was rewritten for the cause of (Protestant) Church and King in September 1745, as the Jacobite rebel invaders from Scotland were menacing the throne. A theatre audience in London rose to intone, as well as the first verse, the less commonly heard second one:

      O Lord our God arise,
      Scatter his enemies
      And make them fall:
      Confound their politics,
      Frustrate their knavish tricks
On him our hopes are fix’d
      O save us all.

The ‘him’ in this case was George II, representative of the Hanoverian usurpation that endures on the British throne to the present day.
By the early 1800s his son, George III, was being greeted by this song on official occasions.

      But…
another version was in circulation, written by Joseph Mather:

      God save great Thomas Paine,
      His ‘Rights of Man’ explain
      To every soul.
He makes the blind to see
What dupes and slaves they be,
      And points out liberty
      From pole to pole.

      Thousands cry ‘Church and King’
      That well deserve to swing,
      All must allow:
      Birmingham blush for shame,
      Manchester do the same
      Infamous is your name,
      Patriots vow.

      Pull proud oppressors down,
      Knock off each tyrant’s crown,
      And break his sword;
      Down aristocracy,
      Set up democracy,
      And from hypocrisy
      Save us good Lord.

      Why should despotic pride
      Usurp on every side?
      Let us be free:
      Grant freedom’s arms success,
      And all her efforts bless,
      Plant through the universe
      Liberty’s Tree.

      Facts are seditious things
When they touch courts and kings,
      Armies are raised,
      Barracks and Bastilles built,
      Innocence charged with guilt,
      Blood most unjustly spilt,
      God stands amazed.

      Despots may howl and yell,
Though they’re in league with hell
      They’ll not reign long;
      Satan may lead the van,
And do the worst he can,
Paine and his ‘Rights of Man’
      Shall be my song.

A sympathetic CNN leaves out 6 dead -1000 injured from 1993 WTC bombing at hands of mastermind terrorist wanting more prison privileges.

CNN: ’93 WTC plotter Ramzi Yousef wants contact ban lifted

By Matt Smth, Feb 18 2013 CNN

Ramzi Yousef has been locked away in solitary confinement at the federal “Supermax” prison in Florence, Colorado, since 1998. A 15-page list of rules sets limits on his contact with relatives, lawyers and other inmates.

He can read books and watch television, but newspapers and magazines are censored to keep him from receiving messages planted in classified ads or letters to the editor.

He was arrested in 1996 in a plot to bomb U.S. airliners in Asia, and he’s the nephew of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed — the accused mastermind of the 2001 attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people and brought down the World Trade Center.

He went to court in 2011 to ask that the Justice Department’s “special administrative measures” that restrict his contact be lifted.

In a 2011 ruling, Duffy wrote that while Yousef was awaiting trial, he had been trying to collect urea — a component of urine — and a type of watch that had been used in a detonator in the airline bomb plot.

Critics: Some of Seth MacFarlane’s Oscar jokes ‘inappropriate,’ ‘sexist’

    .foxnews.

It seems the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences paid attention to the notoriously edgy Golden Globes this year, opting for a racy opening as delivered — with plenty of audience laughs — by Oscar host Seth McFarlane on Sunday night.

However, not everyone was humored by the ABC-broadcast monologue, which was peppered with such things as cocaine-snorting puppets and racial/domestic violence “jokes.”

no, the biggest “awkward moment” was the Lincoln / Booth in head “joke”.
would this have been as funny if it was about JFK?

Louis Farrakhan soliciting Gang Members to protect the Nation of Islam in Chicago

DNAinfo: Louis Farrakhan: Gang Members Can Serve As Protectors

    Feb 25, 2013 – By Quinn Ford

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan told thousands of followers Sunday he was planning to reach out to gang leaders to help “protect” the Nation of Islam.

That came at the Nation of Islam’s annual Saviours’ Day convention.

The calls were part of a speech that lasted more than three hours and touched on topics including Libya’s Moammar Gadhafi, U.S. Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel and a national push for gun control.

In addition to sending letters to black military leaders, Farrakhan said he planned to contact the city’s gang leaders to recruit gang members to “protect” any land the Nation of Islam might buy in the future.

But Farrakhan said gangbangers are “natural soldiers” and could be taught “the science of war” to become protectors of the Nation of Islam’s assets in the future.

Last summer, Farrakhan led 500 men known as the Fruit of Islam, who traditionally serve in his security detail, to the city’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood in response to the spike in violence in the first half of 2012.

Farrakhan also decried the death of Gadhafi, who was killed in 2011.

“You killed my brother [Gadhafi], and now you got the same thing in your mind for me,” Farrakhan thundered as the crowd rose to its feet applauding. “You want to put your hands on me. In fact, you’re plotting it as I’m speaking.”

Saviour’s Day marks the Feb. 26, 1877, birthday of the Nation of Islam’s founder, W. Fard Muhammad.

US gives French Army the Mali Miracle: FUEL

    The Stradegy: The Mali Miracle

Feb 25, 2013: The U.S. played a supporting role in the recent French-led effort to drive al Qaeda out of Mali.

One critical bit of support was KC-135 aerial tankers, which have so far delivered nearly 500 tons of fuel to French warplanes, allowing for these aircraft to spend hours more in the air, waiting for a request from troops below for a smart bomb or missile.

Despite having nearly 400 of these tankers in service, about a quarter of them are sidelined because of maintenance, much of it brought on by advanced age.

As these tankers are also used for many training exercises and the movement of air cargo, it is not easy for the air force to collect some for an emergency like Mali.

This will become more of a problem over the next decade because of the delays in finding a replacement.

The four engine KC-135 carries 90 tons of fuel and can transfer up to 68 tons per sortie….
Typically, aerial tankers have to service B-52s, which carry over 140 tons of jet fuel, and fighters like the F-15 (over five tons). The KC-135 has also made itself useful carrying cargo and passengers, as well as fuel. But….
