2 excellent perspectives on the Egotist in Chief:

"rather than explaining the bleak choices before us and explaining why his preferences have the best chance of succeeding, Obama has so far reduced his presidency to two themes: "Bush did it" and "I'm not your normal white male President."

Bill Kristol: http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/016/532tzlcn.asp?pg=2

"Barack Obama happens temporarily to occupy the White House. He is entitled to pride in his own achievement and confidence in his own abilities. But it would be good if he showed that he understood that he is now president of the United States first, and Barack Obama, admirer of his own journey, second. "

The man-child needs a theme song. I'ld like to formally suggest one:

Toby Keith's "I Wanna Talk About Me"

"I wanna talk about me
Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think
What I like
What I know
What I want
What I see
I like talking about you, you, you, you usually
But occasionally
I wanna talk about me (me, me, me, me)
I wanna talk about me (me, me)"

And .. with all the vets on board here .. especially the Marines .. I submit the following.

A Harley rider is passing the zoo when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back, letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A New York Times reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter says, "Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life." The biker replies, "Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right."

The reporter says, "Well, I'm a journalist from the New York Times, and tomorrow's paper will have this story on the front page ... so, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?" The biker replies, "I'm a U.S. Marine and a Republican."

The following morning the biker buys The New York Times to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on front page:

" U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH."

My dad from Vietnam, my grandpa from Korea, and my brother from Iraq all came home safe. I couldn't imagine life without them. This morning my heart goes out to you here on S&L that can not say the same. I pray God gives you peace and comfort as you think today on the honor of those you have lost. For those who have served and remember brothers and buddies, I hope your day can be filled with pleasant memories of jokes, antics and conversations. Thank you for the fullness of the measure of your devotion.

My prayers go out to everyone whose loved ones are deployed in harm's way. And also a big gratitude of thanks to those of you that served this great nation. Have a very reverent Memorial Day.

Celina, your Jason and your little family have my prayers. I know what you mean when you feel like you know you should be hearing from him soon. Sometimes they go straight into whatever they're doing and while you know in your head they're okay, in your heart it's something different entirely. How long is he gone for? If you need anything, let me know.

Yep, she received the award this year right after a trip to Mexico where she asked who painted the tilma depicting Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patroness of the unborn and of North America. Despicable.

As an aside, I know many of you are praying people and you probably already pray for our troops and their families. My husband just headed downrange and I have not heard from him. I know that he is probably okay but our little troops (our children) are getting a little restless as they try to adjust to having him gone. If you could pray for Jason and his children, as well as all those other families who are anxiously awaiting that quick phone call or email or little text message, it would be greatly appreciated. I know he should be calling or emailing soon but when it goes this long, I get nervous. I don't know how my neighbors whose husbands are infantry do it. I feel like such a weenie. Those women have my utmost respect.

Thank you very much.

12 Gauge Rage, Margaret Sanger white supremist genocide award was given to Hillary Clinton this year. I guess a consolation prize. Martin Luther King was decieved by Planned Parent Hood in accepting the award, but gave it back, when he released what it symbolized. Sanger was a female hitler. Probably gay too.

Pro, have you ever been on MFVOV.com? They mentioned it there but one guy who used to serve with my hubby told him that when his wife went they were only talking to people who could prove they belonged to that Blue Star for obummer group. Additionally my old neighbors in VA BCH were pressured into going to an event on her husband's ship during the campaign by the XO's wife to meet with the wife. Robin told me that she did not want to go but Rob told her that he wanted to make LCDR and she better get her butt to that meeting and smile big. She said it was incredibly uncomfortable. To make matters worse the XO's wife wanted them to work in a call bank during the last two weeks of the campaign. She was just pregnant and begged off with sickness.
I don't know any Presidential wife who did this from my time in from 82-92 (active and reserve time), or my time as a spouse from 2000. When they have accompanied their husbands (Hillary wasn't one of these spouses) they would generally meet with the spouses of the deployed Soldiers and sometimes with the ones who do the most volunteer work and things like that. They generally helped with care packages for a few minutes or listened to the spouses or heard some kid tell a story. I saw Laura Bush twice and she was always pleasant and seemed interested in interacting with the families. She had a way of disarming even those who may have disagreed with the war.
Cindy McCain did not meet with spouse groups like the Mrs. O. She knew better as a military spouse herself.
It would be nice if the retired spouses would speak up but for many they don't care as long as they get to go to their teas still.
Unfortunately this story is true. As I said my husband's friend told him about what happened in Iraq and everything I said is true. There is a website called Blue Stars for Obama that one can sign up for if they are interested. My neighbors on the right belong, their daughter just joined the Navy in October and proudly cast her first vote for the messiah. She is young though and there is still hope.
BTW we just got in from Arlington and happily there were a lot of people there. Lots of wanderers through Section 60. We left a small bottle of Knob Hill on our groomsman's grave and my husband had his small bottle with him after myself and the kids went back to the car (I'm sure you all know this but if you are visiting a specific person you can get a pass to drive in) and I drove home. He said there was no way he was going tomorrow with the Clown in Chief being there.
Edited to add this: Check out this website: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/bluestarfamilies/
I cannot believe that I actually know Laura Dempsey. My husband was in the same unit with hers when we first got married. We used to meet sometimes on Saturday night and go to Mass at the Cathedral in Savannah and go to dinner when our husbands were deployed. She's an attorney. I must go tell my husband. I know he'll be shocked.
Also here is another link. It makes me wonder whether or not the idiot Michelle thought up this group herself. Anyway read this and weep: http://obamesque.wordpress.com/2008/07/26/michelle%E2%80%99s-blue-stars-for-obama-pro-military-pro-obama/

"choosing to meet only with that Blue stars for obummer crowd at military posts"

Catie, you've mentioned this before.

Does this mean that the wife of the President of the United States only meets with military wives that worked in his campaign, even though the campaign is over and he now (supposedly) represents the entire country?

If so, doesn't that mean she is:

a. deliberately creating conflicts in the military by favoring one group over another, and
b. a coward

Are there other POTUS wives who have also done that? ever?

I must be misinterpretting your comments, because it is simply unbelievable.

But if my interpretation is correct, it seems to me that wives of retired military men should lodge formal protests with their congressional representatives in behalf of the active wives who cannot do so (because doing so would surely risk ruining their husband's careers).

"And another stupid comment he made there was that as CIC he wouldn’t send them into harm’s way needlessly."

His speeches as well as everything he says are filled with snide accusations about the prior administration.

It's so wrong on so many levels, but the most annoying thing is that it is so juvenile.

If he can't resist that kind of grade-school tactic when giving a speech in his own country, what kind of self-control will the guy exhibit when a truly serious crisis arises when military action is one of the option?. It doesn't bode well does it?

I would be very surprised if that wreath goes out there tomorrow. I know his stupid arse is going which means we go out today to visit friends who died in Iraq instead of tomorrow. He may be my husband's CIC but he doesn't want to be anywhere near him and he said he'd puke if he watched him lay another wreath (like they did before the inauguration) and had to listen to him speak. We know the wife claims "slave blood" so another tradition will be broken. War dead is war dead and if he truly admired Lincoln he would have "malice towards none" but it's not PC and his friends like Billy Ayers the terrorist would not approve. He is a sad excuse for a president, is he not?"

I truly thinks he looks at the military as a "Necessary Evil" and that's all. He really has nothing but disdain for those who serve and their families. In spite of all his stupid puffed up speeches and the linebacker's attempts to cause a schism within the ranks (choosing to meet only with that Blue stars for obummer crowd at military posts), he is nothing. I have absolutely no respect for him in that capacity at all. Did you catch his speech at Annapolis, it was like he was taking credit for killing those pirates even though he mentioned the Seals it was still all about him and his decisions. And another stupid comment he made there was that as CIC he wouldn't send them into harm's way needlessly. WTF (I never use that but I cannot help myself), who the hell does he think sends them into harms way, willy nilly. Well maybe Clinton did to cover his wide arse but seriously this guy is an absolute clown. And even though you read it nowhere (maybe on Drudge and a few blogs) according to people I know in Iraq, when he came through the advance team asked which military folks voted for him so they could put them up on the dais. I guess after his reception from the Marines, he decided to have a more "friendly" crowd.

This morning in Mass we had a visiting priest from Human Rights International that has their primary focus on the Right to Life. He was from right down the road on I-66 in Front Royal. He was an alum of the class of 1984 of Notre Dame and he discussed how that "great Catholic Mario Cuomo" gave the speech his year. He said Cuomo was telling them that they needed to keep their faith to themselves and not make moral judgments as they are unpopular. He said that most of the class wondered to themselves why he was even invited and how disgusted he was with the current class who cheered the messiah who is the most anti-life president ever and how these people will destroy this country if they are not stopped. I don't know what our country will look like in 2012 but I don't like the way it looks in May of 2009.
