An Update On The Regime Changes At S&L

Here is a quick update on the site. We have decided to ‘upgrade’ a few longtime regular members, who have posted regularly on the Selected News threads.

These happy few now have the immense power and terrible responsibility of posting news articles, should they choose to do so. And, hopefully, they will do their best to match our specific formatting and general posting traditions.

This will be a strictly casual thing, to see how things go, before we try any more dramatic reformulation of the site and its software.

Of course, we recognize that things might be a little ragged at first. We will all learn by doing.

So, if you have been made an ‘editor,’ please feel free to post away. But please do try to post mainstream news that is either too big to ignore or so small it might be missed.

If you have not been ‘upgraded’ and would like to be in order to news post articles, please let us know.

Wonderful news. I always thought cloning would be exciting! Eagerly looking forward to the next phase of S&L. Well done, El Capitan Grande!

Just knowing that the site will stay up is “Sweetness & Light” to me

    Thanks Steve,

    I really appreciate being added.

I am a long time Imus fan, and I blog Imus In The Morning, on a semi regular basis. I tend to see the humorous side of media news spin. I think I would be described best as a news junkie, and a media news critic. Politically, I am an Independent, that leans Libertarian.

Wonderful. I sure do hope to see S&L continue to keep on keepin’ on.

    Steve – If I may suggest an S&L anthem….

Come to think of it, Herman Cain did mention changing “Hail to the Chief”. This is as good as any.

To all my S&L’ Bro’s n Girlz.. Buzz On! Buzz On!

I just wanted to compliment you on the way you posted that Obama to Latinos thread.
This is a new and uncertain direction for the site to head and I think you’ve managed to show us how to keep S&L..well..S&L.

A news article interspersed with commentary -it comes across as very “Steve-esque’ (Gilbertesque?)
Apart from the format, no one would know it had not come from SG. (that, incidentally, is a compliment)

I think (and no doubt he’ll correct me if I’m wrong) that that’s exactly what Steve had in mind when he instituted his editor program.
Since I -for some bizarre reason- have been given the same signal honor, that gives me a good pattern to base my own postings on.

    Well done.

DW many thanks for your very kind encouraging words. That was my intent. They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I tried to honor Steve by attempting to replicate his style. I could never come close substantively to his astute analysis of the issues. I look forward to reading your work and the work of others.. personally, I found it extremely daunting. I have even greater respect now for Steve for the amount of work he put into S & L. Don’t be shy folks – jump in :-)

Occupy Wall St Update: Just back from downtown NYC. There’s every bit of 300 to 400 protestors “occupying Wall St” TISH TOSH! But when 1,000 times more take to Washington as part of the TEA Movement, they’re mocked & ignored.

    Media bias?
