The Hive - When And How Will Hillary Quit?

Here again is our randomly occurring weekend discussion thread, where members can hold forth on things that may not relate directly to the news of the day.

All we ask is that we try to keep the conversation on a level that you would not mind having your sainted mother or teenaged daughter read.

As usual, this thread is open to any and all topics within reason.

But will she exit with dignity?

  2. 1sttofight

But will she exit with dignity?

What are you drinking this morning Steve?

  3. The Redneck

    Of course not.

First she’ll offer to be Obama’s running-mate, which he’ll refuse. Obama may not be particularly bright, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that between Hillary and power is a very, very unsafe place to be–Vince Foster could have warned him about that, were he still here.

Then she’ll run as an independent. Massive amounts of money will flow to her campaign (some of it from America) and either she’ll be finally convinced to back off with some bribe–power, not money–or she’ll split the vote and let McCain win, which ain’t much of a victory.

  4. U NO HOO

From her cold politically dead hand?

Well, in her case, cold is utter stereotypical obvious redundancy.

  5. David

Completely off topic and not really a topic at all but I just heard this again after a long time and it brought tears to my eyes to hear the heart of conservative philosophy.

    ” America! America!
    God mend thine every flaw,
    Confirm thy soul in self-control,
    Thy liberty in law!”

I would like to hear Mr. B. Eloquence explain how his policies display a self-controlled government or a passing of laws based on protecting liberty not dismantling it.
God Bless America! (It just seems so “Wright” to say it!)

  6. SG

“Completely off topic and not really a topic at all…”

That is the point of this thread.

And it’s a great point, David.

Dignity? From a Clinton? Not on your life!

    Part 2 of

    Moonbats on the S&L Express

U NO HOO was keeping a close eye on the tracks ahead as he piloted the train through the darkness, The carbide light was barely enough to light the tracks for more than about 50 yards, but tonight the full moon gave him a well lit panoramic view.
Sitting on a wooden stool in the cab with him was Noyzmakr serving as the fireman, he had to monitor the fire, water and the steam pressure, and he had Egore to shovel the coal into the firebox as needed.
Noyz had two railroad spikes that he was banging away on the boiler plate and humming a tune.
What are you playing now U NO HOO asked tiring of the noise!
“Highway to Hell” he replied without missing a beat.
Wonderful!, You do know you are giving me a headache with all that banging!
    ” Sorry dude, A head like that………”
SOMETHING ON THE TRACKS, U NO HOO shouted as he pulled the brake lever with all his might.
The S&L Express came to a violent stop, its cow catcher coming to rest only inches from the body tied to the track.
The sudden slowing of the train caught Noyz buy surprise and he hit his head hard on the boiler plate he was using as a drum!
U NO HOO with his head and shoulder still hanging out the window of the old steamer looked at the face of the well lit body in front of the train, “That face,
I know that face”, Shivers went up his spine.
He pulled himself fully into the cab and looked over to Noyz, He lay silent on the cold metal floor!
U NO HOO knelt beside him with his back to the tender car, Hey man wake up! OH man make some noise!?

Egore had been thrown face down into the coal by the sudden stop, He raised his coal blackened face slowly and looked at Noyz and U NO HOO.
A grin lit up his face, one down and one distracted, he rolled his tongue over his fangs and stood up.

Steve was stopped in mid sentence and was reseated in his chair by the sudden stop of the S&L Express, He rose swiftly to his feet again.
“SJ, Get to the tender and check on U NO HOO and Noyz, And if that idiot Egore gives you any trouble…..Oh just do what you do best. I will meet you there as fast as I can”
SG ran to the sconce on the wall and gave it a fast tug, The walnut panels in front of him slid forward slightly and then sideways revealing his personal arsenal,
No time to decide on a weapon, he grabbed his prized possession, a four barreled Sharps pepper-box that he shoved in his jacket pocket, an M1A carbine and a 12 inch Bowie knife, he rushed without hesitation to the dining car where most of the regulars would be sipping bourbon.

The barkeep, Knowing it was time to strike, jumps onto the bar and hisses at texaspsue, his eyes glow bright yellow and his 2 inch fangs drip saliva.
    “its showtime neocon”
Oh nasty!, Those teeth are just nasty!, And that breath, peeeueee.
    “Time to die”
Spot on, Texas said as the 44magnum in her shapely hand barked three times!
The force of the rounds knocked the barkeep off his feet, He flopped around violently on the hardwood floor behind bar for several seconds and then lay silent.
Showtime, phffft, tex said giggling as she turned to walk away.
“That hurt”, the barkeep said as he rose slowly, the three new holes in his bright red vest oozed a heavy green bile.
Before tex could turn to face the barkeep again, over a dozen handguns unleashed a hellstorm of bullets.
The barkeep staggered backwards and twitched as each well placed round found him, several bottles of bourbon burst open from rounds that passed through him.
The barkeep slid to the floor, he gasped and wheezed as he clung to his last moments of life, He looked up to see Tex point her 44 magnum at his forehead.
    “Shows over bat breath”

SJ reached the tender in a matter of seconds and grabbed the ladder and pulled himself to the top of the tender, he stood up fully and clutched his stick tightly.
Egore was sneaking up behind his two intended victims.
SJ moved swiftley to close the distance!
    “HEY Egore, TATERGRAM!!!
Egore tuned to face the familiar voice, his short lived joy replaced with wild eyed terror!
    WHOMP…… WHOMP WHOMP WHUMP/ SNAP!
The heavy hickory stick broke in half on the forth swing, but SJ was in the middle of the fith swing before he realized he had broken the stick he had spent so many hours carving, He stared at his broken stick and then at Egore, a tear slid down his cheek.
I am gonna miss you, he sniffled, You were a good friend!
He held the shattered stick close to his chest and said one last time, I am gonna miss ya, and tossed it over the side.
SJ wiped the tear from his face and started toward the engine to check on U NO HOO and Noyz, stopping only to give Egore one last kick.
He looked at U NO HOO, ” What happened?”
Somebody has the Reverend Wright tied to the tracks.
“And you stopped the train why?”
Steve just had this thing painted!
    “Oh, Good point.”
“Is he gonna be OK , SJ asked as he pointed to Noyz”
Noyz started bobbing his head and singing weakly, ‘Come on feel the noyz, girls rock your boyz!
HOO took a deep breath and sighed, Yup, good as new!

Steve flung open the door to the dining car and his nose was filled with the smell of gun powder
” Everyone, Grab anything that kills and prepare to defend yourselves” Oh, wait…, He looked around to see everyone had a gun already unholstered!
” I need six volunteers”, and he quickly proceeded to let them know who they were!
Upon hearing their names called, JohnMG and 1sttofight quickly ended their prayers over the 3 bottles of single-malt bourbon lost in the fracus.
BillK, Gila Monster, Retire05 and Navycop Joe nodded and walked toward Steve when he called their names.
“DW, Find our Republican Scientist, Maybe he can shed some light on what we are dealing with tonight.”
Sweet, DW said as he rushed off.

A badly burned and bruised pimply faced kid staggered toward his friends, Over one hundred moonbats hiding in the dark amongst the sage brush!

    Excellent! Bravo Dez!

How did you know that in my younger, drunker days I used to walk into bars and scream “C’mon feel the noyz” just as you wrote it? That’s uncanny. BTW, my friends hated that…LOL.

    hi
    Good saturday to ya all

I’m wondering if anyone can give me a suggestion for a proggy that will capture video stream so that you can get JUST a small portion of a video clip? (let me re-phrase that… a FREE program perfered)
(i don’t have dsl so these video downloads are killing my machine- i don’t or can’t watch most of them that take 4 hours to download anyway :))

I have a huge (10 minute video of Michelle Obama saying - Black America will wake up - regarding voting for her husband) With Obama always talking about no black, white, asian, old, young, or drunk Americans- there are only AMERICANS- i find it ironic that his wife says that Black America will wake up - also the handwrittings on wall last 3 days that Hilary’s being attacked for reporting demographic white racist remarks…poe poe Hill - being rewarded for all those years of fightin for the minority voting block.

so I’d like to make this small clip and get rid of other 9.5 minutes. I have downloaded probably 5 programs - none seem to do anything but record - rather than allow capturing a tiny portion.
    thanks

If the hildabeast had any honor or was half the man-hating lez feminazi biotch we all know her to be she would go down fighting in a hail of bullets!!

Hopefully she’ll take as many of those traitorous dhimmis down with her to the grave! After all shes done for the commies in this country…. the betrayal!

  17. Noyzmakr

    Greybeard, Try IrfanView

I’m not sure if the program does what you want, but it does a lot of neat tricks. I know it will capture “still frames” from video. You’ll have to see for yourself. Also, download the plugins so it will play all manner of file types. FLV, AVI, WMP, ect. You can also look at the “Nice WWW Links” on their homepage for other progarms that may work for you.

    Hope that helps.

  18. 1republicanscientist

Nice work Dez! Happy to be a part of this warm family epic! Got a question. I am certainly not sticking up for shrillary, but isn’t this race pretty close? If obama was a repub and shrill was a demo, then tim russert potato would be saying it’s too close to call. Up until a few days ago, the shrill was leading the super delegate race. It’s the ol’ demo double standard rearing its head again.

  19. JohnMG

….”Upon hearing their names called, JohnMG and 1sttofight quickly ended their prayers over the 3 bottles of single-malt bourbon lost in the fracus……”

    That’s alcohol abuse!! (snif, snif)

  20. pagar

I don’t think she should quit. If she doesn’t win in Denver, I think she should go independent and stay in till election day. It would be the best of all possible outcomes IMO.

  21. wardmama4

Come on people - neither one of these two, Obama The Movement nor Her Royal Clinton - can win –and this is the key point –without the other quitting. So the question is why O bomb ah??? Well, I guess it is like that last few DNC nominees - sure loser. But I digress.

I think that she should stay in -

    B. Hussein Obama has won 1 primary since Feb 22nd - that is not a stellar showing (certainly not looking good for the Nov election) -

Until someone (Soros, maybe) pushed BO to the forefront - Her Royal Clinton was the ‘presumptive’ candidate - so once again, why the change?

If I (wait a minute, I was in a state where my ‘vote’ was wasted, because the RNC, chose our ‘presumptive’ candidate) was in a state still left to vote - I’d be angry at all the calls for HRC to step aside so that Barry can be called the ‘presumptive’ candidate.

Hillary - Take it to Denver and scream sexism or reverse discrimination all the way!!!!

  22. JohnMG

    - neither one of these two, Obama The Movement nor Her Royal Clinton -

Good point, wardmama4, so in a way you’ve answered your own queation. My belief is that once the campaigning began, it became more and more obvious that Hillary was a long-shot. Obama had been in the wings being groomed for bigger things since the 04 convention, so he became an heir-apparent. I also think they (democrats) knew very little more about him than did we, and they have been finding out at about the same rate as we have, just what a charlatan he is. But it is too late, and the “race” thing plays well for them in November. I really think they are stuck in a spot of their own choosing, and aren’t too thrilled about it.

  23. pagar

A lot of what Obama has won were caucuses. IMO, a caucus is the same as the union check card system, voters can be intimidated. Chaos

““The campaign legal hotline has been flooded with calls containing specific accusations of irregularities and voter intimidation against the Obama campaign,”

Secret ballots are the only way to go in all elections IMO. I don’t think Obama would have the lead had secret ballots been used in all states.

  24. JohnMG

………“The campaign legal hotline has been flooded with calls containing specific accusations of irregularities and voter intimidation against the Obama campaign,…..”

    Nothing out of the ordinary here, pagar. This IS the democrats and their system of governance we’re talking about here. ;-}

  25. pagar

“This IS the democrats and their system of governance we’re talking about here”

That is what I can’t understand - Why would anyone support the democrats and their system of goverance?

    Any it looks like it is going to get worse, much worse. From a poster at noquarter;

“Here is what some longtime Dems have to say about this:

Mr. O wants to do away with ALL independent progressive groups that can not march in lockstep with his “movement”. This means that groups ranging from Media Matters to Women’s Voices Women’s Votes to EMILY’s List to the Sierra Club to Democratic Party orgs themselves are threatened by Mr. O telling his donors NOT to donate to anything other than “official Barack Obama” outfits.

Mr. O is setting up parallel party infrastructure to not only compete with the current Democratic Party, but ultimately OVERTAKE IT. He’s not just looking for control, but he wants to weed out EVERYONE who still has ties to Bill & Hillary Clinton. So say bye-bye to everyone
currently working in some capacity on Hillary’s campaign… We’re not welcome any more! …

I can’t believe this comes to mind, but this is what this takeover reminds me of: In 1969, the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) had a big convention in Chicago (ahem) in which those who advocated the violent overthrow of the U.S. government took over — and threw out — those who persisted in believing in the Martin Luther King legacy of non-violent protest. The non-violent groups were no longer welcome. They were cast-offs. It was made VERY clear that they were not to be trusted by the new violent leaders in charge.” Article

“Obama’s Subversion of the Democratic Party”

  26. JohnMG

…..“Obama’s Subversion of the Democratic Party…….”

Don’t forget his association with Ayres, Dohrn, Wright, (and by association) Farrakahn, and others, all of whom demand absolute allegiance. Not surprising, really.

  27. Noyzmakr

JohnMG writes… “I really think they are stuck in a spot of their own choosing, and aren’t too thrilled about it.”

You may be right, but I also have a theory and I’ll run it up the flagpole here to see if anyone will salute it.

In my mind it’s simple. The democrats are in a win, win situation. They finally realized what harm to the party the Clintons have wrought for all these years and once the Obama movement took hold they saw their opportunity to rid themselves of Bill and Hillary for good. At the same time they could portray themselves as the party that is moving the country forward on the race issue by nominating a black candidate, but they also saw there chance to let this be the one time they would allow such a person of color to rise so high so that they could turn around and say to the black community that they have fulfilled their promise of bringing racial equality to their party. Now whether Obama wins or not they will never ever have to even consider nominating another black candidate for president, but continue to get %90 of the black vote.

I don’t think they care whether Obama wins or not. They’ll be rid of the Clintons and they’ll have their token black candidate out of the way for at least another two decades. Plus, if Obama loses to McCain, they’ll still get a liberal in the WH who’ll do their bidding anyway.

Actually, if you think about it the democrats can’t lose this November.

  28. texaspsue

Dang fine story DEZ! TeeHee :-)

(Defenders of the honor of the Republic and troll chasers.)

  29. texaspsue

Whatever Schillery does, she will have to figure out a way to step aside without losing face. I still believe that she thinks BO will ask her to be VP… I’m just saying… we’re talking about the Klintoon ego here, not reality.

Besides, Shrillery still may have one more trick up her sleeve to be the Democrat Candidate and end up giving BO one last sucker punch. (The come back kid II, the sequel.)

  30. Noyzmakr

Obama will never accept Hillary and I don’t think anyone in the democrat leadership will try to force him to take her as VP.

    On a side note:
Obama’s counting on fooling a lot of people in this country into believing the crap he spews, but he can’t fool the whole country no matter how much the MSM try to help him. In fact, so many people distrust the media now that their obvious leanings towards Obama may just hurt him.

I will predict right here and now that McCain wins in a landslide.

    McCain %61
    Obama %34
    Other %05

You heard it here first. LOL. ;-)

  31. DEZ

” we’re talking about the Klintoon ego here, not reality.”
Some egos, such as the Klintoons, will not sit in second place without a fight.
That said, Hobama is also a legend in his own mind, if he were to to offer the spot of VP to Hitlery, It would only be done to stroke said such ego by putting number two in her place and rubbing it in her face, or if he thought it would lend him more of chance to land in the WH.
I doubt any of this will happen, a Hobama/Hitlery ticket is a very unlikely scenario.
This is a primary of the most fragmented mess the dems have ever faced in my lifetime, both candidates bases have a sworn hate for the other, they have set the rules that a vote for Hitlery is racism, a vote for Hobama is gynophobia, either way they go they have set themselves up as intolerant asshats.
The thing to remember is that these two do not play well with each other, we see it and so does most of the left blocks voting base.
    P.S., Tex. Thank you!

  32. greybeard

noyz thanks so much for your help- your proggy didn’t do it tho.
Butt YAHOOO! I have finaly done it after what feels like 15 years!
Windows Movie maker actually worked once i had downloaded (like my 12th program) a program to convert youtube FLV files. WMM actually automatically split the movie sections for me - and I got my small clip once it was no longer a flv file.! YEA!
I’ll need to work on it now- the quality is terrible.
check out Michelle Obama Black America will wake Up here [ it's small: File Size: 1079 ]

heh- now i have to refind the one at an Obama rally - “WE need more White people!” (putting whites behind Obama stage and moving others out ) and splice it in. heh

Guys, guys!! Oh, and gals, Shrillary is waiting for tomorrow to put on the fireworks.
The reason everyone is pushing for the Messiah now is because of a little thing happening in a Chicago court.

    Get the popcorn ready.

This is it! Like Dracula rising from the grave, AMERICAN PERFECTIONN, the Hillary Clinton Story, reaches into the not-too-distant future to conclude with a bang, not a whimper, in the last ever episode, when we graciously accept her concession and say “Goodnight, Sweet Bitch”!

“And you’ll take good care of my pets, won’t you?”

“The piranha fish? The flying monkeys? Of course I will, Senator” lied Joe Friday.

“And you Martin – you’ll look take care of everything afterwards? The clean up? I don’t want my body abused by my enemies, not like with Mussolini. I’m counting on you”.

“Jawohl, mein Fuhrer – I mean, Senator” said Bormann. “I haff mit carcass disposal much experienze”.

He nodded grimly toward the shovels, the rolled up blanket and the gas cans.

“Gut – I mean, good. Fine” Though her stricken face resembled a Jack ‘o’ Lantern left out in the rain, Hillary forced a tight little smile. “Well then, gentlemen; I suppose this is ‘goodbye”.

She gripped Joe Friday’s hand in her powerful talon.

“Bye, Hillary” winced Joe Friday. “Smell you later” he added, retrieving his crushed paw and his mind already flitting ahead to the impromptu cremation that would soon be taking place in the garden.

“Auf weidersehen, mein Fuhrer blubbed Bormann, having his hand crushed in turn. “I vish it vas not ending like zis” he sniffed and the shifty little eyes of the hulking Bavarian filled up.

“Now, now, Martin – dry those tears godbleepit. Human emotions have never had any place in our organization” said Hillary. “There’s no other choice. After the ordinary people let me down, this is the only way left”.

    “I know, but…”

“They did not deserve me! They could not share my vision – their minds were too small!” snarled Hillary, going into another one of those mood swings which never failed to catch you off guard.

“Those bleepers! Those motherbleeping bleepsucking sonsofbleeps! Bleeping bleepholes! Bleep them! Bleep them all, those bleeping bleeps!” Hillary raged.

Joe Friday and Bormann stood amazed at her clean language, given the way she usually talked.

“I offered them the world and they gave me the finger. Cowards! Weaklings! They deserted me like rats from a sinking ship – and I’m the ship! Now…alone and friendless, I leave the stage. Let the heavens tremble!”

“Huh? Oh, right” said Joe Friday, checking his mobile. “I really need to take this call. Hello, Senator Obama. Fine, thank you. Yes, of course we’d be interested. At the same salary? Great. Say, Senator – we’re right in the middle of something. Can I call you back in, say, ten minutes? That’s right. Thank you, Senator, or should I say ‘Mr President’? Bye bye”.

    “Who was that?” mumbled Hillary.

“Wrong number. Well, Senator, I hate to hurry you along but you know these things are… time flies and all. Here’s your pistol with one round in the chamber, here’s a bottle of whisky, here’s a chair and a mirror – we’ll just leave you to, you, know, do what you have to do. Would you like a last cigarette or anything?”

Silent for once, Hillary only shook her head.

“Okay, we’ll just be going now. See you late -well, see you. C’mon, Marty”.

The two goons stepped into the shadowy corridor of the Motel 6 and shut the door behind them.

“Phew. For a minute there I thought she was going to ask me for a hug or something” said Joe Friday.

Alone, Hillary took a slug from the bottle. She looked into the mirror which would help her to aim properly and not just shoot off her face, like that guy she’d read about in Wichita or Omaha or wherever. No reflection again, she thought. Couldn’t see her own face. “Intermittent Vampirism” the doctors had called it. Incurable…except by a silver bullet. Well, she wasn’t throwing money away on that now.

So this was the end; my only friend, the end. Of our elaborate plans, the end…

Hillary thought briefly about the glum, muttering crowds in the hotel ballroom and how they had all drifted away as the bad news trickled in.

She recalled the polling data and how where once the lines had all been pointing proudly Up, they now drooped impotently Down.

She recalled the final phone call from Soros and how the wizened puppetmaster had brutally let her go. “You’re fired, Hillary” he’d croaked. “You can’t fire me – I quit” had been her brilliant reposte but too late; Soros had already hung up on her.

She flinched at the memory of Obama’s twisted little smirk of triumph when she conceded, that insolent coon, that upstart, and finally, she remembered Bill and how he’d jeered at her misery:

“Ah told you! Ah told you! You ain’t nuthin’ without me, little lady – nuthin’! Now you less than nuthin’! You sub-’nuthin’! Ah’m outta here – loser!”

Even Huma had left her. “Just going out for cigarettes” she’d said but that was three days ago.

They said it was all because she was ‘cold’ and ‘strange’ and ‘seemed emotionally deformed’ – they said it like that was a bad thing. How unfair could you get? Was Stalin cold? Was Hitler strange? Was Saddam emotionally deformed?

So she’d never been a ‘people person’ - so what?

There’d never be a second Clinton Administration now. She’d never succeed to her rightful place on the Throne, never get to wear her favourite canary yellow pantsuit to her Coronation, never get to see the surprised look on Bill’s red face when he came home to find all his stuff on the front porch in garbage bags, she’d never get to be anything more than ‘bi-curious’…it was all over.

All those years of hard work; threatening here, arm twisting there, lying and evading – for what? All that anger and frustration, all that trying to prove herself worthy of Dad’s love, all that rampant ego – to what end? It was all going to end now, here in a cheap motel room in Hamburger Helper, West Virginia.

She heaved a final sigh and took a last slug from the bottle. Now she was ready.

I don’t think I’m so bad, she thought, as she pressed the cold metal of the pistol barrel against her temple…

“It’s ein crying shame” mused Bormann. “I really vanted to be Direktor uf Homeland Zecurity. Und you’d haff been ein wunderbar Attorney General”.

“Yeah; well” said Joe Friday. “No use crying over spilled milk…“

    BANG!

The gunshot echoed through the thin plasterboard walls.

“Or spilled brains, either” muttered the saturnine private dick.

“She haz gone to… ein better place” sniffed Bormann.

“Hmmppff. After all the shit she’s pulled she’ll be lucky if she can get into Cat and Dog Heaven” growled Joe Friday. “C’mon, let’s call Obama back and see what kind of vacation package he can offer”.

“Vat about…” asked Bormann, indicating the locked room.

“Huh? Forget about it; we don’t work for her anymore. She’s a problem for Housekeeping now”.

“Himmel Gott, Joe – haff you no compazzion? Ve can’t juzst leaf her lying aroundt like ein piece uff garbage” ” urged the sentimental Bavarian.

“Huh? Okay; fine. We’ll drag her outside for the birds”.

“Nein!” exclaimed Bormann. “You back avay! I’ll take care uff it, you uncaring schwein”.

“Who are you calling a schwein, Stuka Boy?” muttered Friday.

“You, dat’s who, Porky Pig. Now leaf me be”.

Leaving the fuming Friday in the corridor, Bormann opened the door and stepped inside. The powder smoke made him cough a little. The bemused war criminal gazed down in silence at the sprawled body on the cheap pile carpeting, blood and soggy brain matter puddling around its head.

Yuck -vat ein mess, Bormann thought. Hillary’s eyes, blue contact lenses still in place, were wide open, staring up at him blankly.

I hate it ven she giffs you zat look, he muttered, stretching out a shaking hand to close the glazed over, red-rimmed, contact-lensed, staring, seen-things-you-could-never-imagine twin orbs of vision.

“Gut Nacht, sveet bitch” he misquoted softly. “Und flights of engels sing zee to zine rest”.

At his touch, though, and to his amazement, the corpse’s eyes fluttered, the mouth twitched and a needle sharp talon seized Bormann’s arm in a grip of iron.

“Mein Fuhrer! You’re alive! Alive!” he gasped. “Don’t vorry; you vill be okay. You’re going to make it!”

A sudden shower of hot blood sprayed from Hillary’s mouth, drenching him.

“Or maybe not” said Bormann, wiping his face with a sleeve.

“Aaaaakkk…” croaked the wounded candidate. “Aaaaarrr…”

“Vat’s dat?” asked Bormann, leaning closer. “Vat you say? Haff you ein last message fur Amerika?”

    “Sccrrr…scrrr…”

    “Ja? Ja? Vat you say?”

“Screw you… America…” choked the fallen progressive. “This is all (gurgle) your fault. You didn’t (cough) love me (cough) enough. You weren’t (gag) …worthy”.

“Message received, mein Fuhrer. Vat else?”

Hillary struggled to speak. Her lips trembled and Bormann just caught her faint last words:

“I’ll be back (gurgle) you ain’t (choke) seen (cough) the last of Hillaryyy…” and then she shuddered and was gone.

To Bormann’s amazement her body withered, shrivelled and crumbled instantly into dust – poof! - and Hillary disappeared forever, vanished like a bad dream in the clear light of day, never to be seen or heard from again.

Yeah, right. We wish. We won’t get rid of her that easily - but until then, good night, good luck and goodbye, everyone.

Just had to share this pre-Senator Obama Chicago Trib archive article on Michelle Obama. It seems the “first lady” seed was planted right about then….. (sorry can’t link it- it’s login required)

Her plan went awry, but Michelle Obama doesn’t mind; [Chicago Final Edition]
Cassandra West, Tribune staff reporter. Chicago Tribune. Chicago, Ill.: Sep 1, 2004. pg. 1

Michelle Obama stands off to the side of her husband. It is four days after his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in Boston, and Barack Obama, U.S. Senate candidate, is giving yet another speech. As he often does during his speeches, he introduces her, half-jokingly, as his “no-nonsense wife.”

They are in Ottawa, the first stop on a post-convention tour that is taking them and their two daughters to 30 counties and 39 cities Downstate over five days.

From the national stage in Boston to backyard fundraisers in small Illinois towns, Michelle Obama, who directs community affairs for the University of Chicago Hospitals, is emerging as the pragmatic, smart woman who not only helps keep her husband’s ego in check, but also is there to remind him of what is important. She juggles it all because she always has been a woman with “a plan.”

Her own story illustrates, though, that plans are subject to change–and chance.

Always a disciplined and serious student, the former Michelle Robinson followed her plan from early on. It took her to Princeton University, to Harvard Law School, and on to a career at one of Chicago’s top law firms. Then she met Barack Obama, a smart, charismatic young lawyer who changed her plans forever.

Michelle was working at Sidley Austin Brown & Wood. Barack, who had just finished his first year at Harvard Law, was a summer associate there, and Michelle, only a few years out of law school herself, was his adviser.

The two had a lot in common, except when it came to this: He wanted to date her. She had other ideas.

“I was more focused on my plan,” she says while finishing a decidedly unhurried lunch at La Petite Folie, one of her favorite Hyde Park restaurants. “I had made this proclamation to my mother the summer I met Barack, ‘I’m not worrying about dating . . . I’m going to focus on me.’”

Considering him a “friend,” who was also “a great guy … cute, really smart,” she tried introducing him to other female friends.

    He wasn’t interested.

“He wanted to take me out and I didn’t know that until he asked me out,” she says.

She resisted, telling him, “I’m your adviser. Certainly that’s going to look bad. That’s just way too predictable. [We are] the only two black people here, and [we're] going to start dating?’

“I’m thinking, ‘No, that’s just tacky,’” she recalls.

Eventually, the planner was persuaded and the date took place.

Now, 12 years of married life later, the ardent, persistent suitor is running to become the junior U.S. senator from Illinois, and the planner, well, she’s adjusting to the uncertainties of political life. But, in this instance, she knows, the best-laid plans mean nothing until Election Day.

One way she has been able to manage the shifting sands of politics, she says, “is to know that I have to let go of the plan, which is my nature. And it’s driving me crazy, because I don’t have a plan. So I have to mentally let go of the plan and [say] ‘we’ll figure it out.’”

Also her nature: a calm, direct manner that comes through whether she’s in a crowded meeting hall or sitting alone with her husband. Those who know her say she has always been pragmatic, balanced.

“The poise that you see is genuine,” says her older brother Craig Robinson. “She is quite comfortable in all situations.”

David Mosena, who hired her to be his deputy chief of staff when he worked for Mayor Richard Daley in the early ’90s, says, “She has her feet solidly on the ground, both of them. There’s not a bone of superficiality in her. She is the real deal. … She is very comfortable with herself.”

    Staying sane

As the countdown to Election Day enters a critical phase, and the prospect of making postelection plans becomes inevitable, Obama makes psychic and emotional space a priority for herself.

She has made a deal with herself: Remain sane.

“I cannot be crazy, because then I’m a crazy mother and I’m an angry wife.

“What I notice about men, all men, is that their order is me, my family, God is in there somewhere, but me is first. And for women, me is fourth, and that’s not healthy.”

Staying healthy involves working out (at 5 a.m.) four days a week; keeping up with the regular activities of daughters Malia, 6, and Sasha, 3, so they “retain that family bond”; and not missing her Friday afternoon hair and manicure appointments. And, as much as possible, she and her husband still have regular date nights.

Barack Obama knows his wife is making sacrifices as she supports his run for the Senate.

“She’s been an enormous help, mainly by just keeping our family focused on family,” he says. He also knows she’s really not all that impressed with the hype that now surrounds his campaign. Sure, she “cares about her community and her country,” he says, but “she’s much more concerned with the kind of father I am, or the kind of husband I am than she is with whether I give a nice speech at the convention.”

Unlike his wife’s stable two-parent, South Side of Chicago- bungalow upbringing, his early years sound almost like a Horatio Alger tale. Raised by his mother and maternal grandparents, Barack Obama spent most of his youth in Hawaii with a few years in Indonesia after his mother remarried.

Where Michelle Obama sees herself as “the practical planner, common sense” one, her husband is a self-described “dreamer.”

“Barack is more comfortable without a plan,” Michelle Obama says. “His whole life wasn’t a plan.”

Although she now shares his dreams, Michelle Obama, 40, a 1981 Whitney Young High School graduate, clings tenaciously to her own.

“I’ve had to come to the point of figuring out how to carve out what kind of life I want for myself beyond who Barack is and what he wants,” she says during a back-seat interview on the way to a campaign rally in Oquawka, Ill.

“I like program development. I like cultures. I like team- building,” she says.

“If politics were my passion, I’d find out how to do it and make it work. But it’s not mine. It’s Barack’s and so it’s a good balance, because I have a bunch of different passions that don’t necessarily conflict [with his].”

One of her passions, public service work, led her to leave what could have been a lucrative career in law for public service. But making lots of money was never her goal.

Her wardrobe, usually simple and tasteful, is no-frills. Her shoes are sensible, her jewelry minimal. To manage their expenses while her husband campaigns, the couple took a second mortgage on their Hyde Park town home. And, she says, they have only recently finished paying off their school loans, which combined was more than their mortgage.

When she left Sidley Austin after three years, Michelle Obama took a job in city government working with Mosena, who now heads the Museum of Science and Industry.

A year later, she left City Hall to head up Public Allies Chicago, an organization designed to help young adults interested in pursuing careers in public service.

From Public Allies, she moved to the University of Chicago, becoming associate dean of student services, which gave her a chance, she says, to bring her work “closer to home on the South Side.”

A month after daughter Sasha was born, Obama got a call from the new president of the University of Chicago Hospitals, Michael Riordan. He wanted her to help build a vision for the hospital’s nascent community affairs effort. It was a critical time for her, personally and professionally.

She was struggling “with wanting to be a good mother and was on the verge of saying ‘I’m not sure what I want to do [professionally], so I’m going to do what I haven’t done before and stay home.’”

Like her husband had been, Riordan was a persistent suitor. He offered her “all the flexibility” she desired. She took the job.

That flexibility is allowing her the time she needs–and wants– to play a visible role in her husband’s campaign.

    Bringing out the best

On a recent morning, Michelle Obama is back in the office after the convention and Downstate tours. Conducting a staff meeting, she sits in the middle of a long conference table surrounded by five staff members. Before hearing their reports, she seems more concerned about the welfare of an absent staffer who recently had a death in her family.

As the hospital’s director of volunteerism, Leif Elsmo reports to her. “She has the ability to bring the best out in people,” he says, “really tapping into what their strengths and gifts and talents are. It’s inspiring.”

That ability shows on the campaign trail. Whether greeting strangers or enthusiastic supporters who crowd around her at political meet and greets and fundraisers, she connects easily, bending to shake hands with diminutive older women, many longtime Republicans curious to meet the Democratic candidate who gave the much-talked-about keynote address at the DNC. They are quite intrigued by the wife too.

During the postconvention stop in Marengo, Terri Albright of South Elgin approaches Michelle Obama, telling her she could be a “future first lady.”

Those kinds of voter fantasies don’t seem to faze Obama. She brushes off such musings with a friendly smile or a polite pat on the back. Clearly, an adoring public is rushing ahead into a future she refuses to imagine before Election Night.

But then, she has always been levelheaded, her mother, Marian Robinson, says.

Michelle Obama’s mother and her father, Fraser Robinson, who died in 1991, stressed education and family to their daughter and son, Craig, who also graduated from Princeton, two years ahead of his sister. A former all-Ivy League basketball player, he is an assistant basketball coach at Northwestern University.

“I always say Michelle raised herself from about 9 years old,” her mother says. “She had her head on straight very early.”

And she has always been very competitive, her mother adds, laughing. “She always liked to win.”

No, she doesn’t like to lose, Michelle Obama herself will tell you. Although athletic and active growing up, she was, by her own admission, “too competitive to play sports in high school. My brother would say, ’she never wanted to lose, so she never wanted to play.’”

When it comes to the soul mate whom she almost planned out of her life, Michelle Obama sees a man she hopes wins.

On those days when she wishes for a return to a less harried life, she clasps her hands, rubs them together as if to conjure up a genie, and slyly says, “If he loses, it might not be so bad.”

Deep down, you know, that’s just not part of the plan.

    This too, is interesting……….

    Confronting black culture
“Moving to the mainland, he felt for the first time in the midst of vigorous discussion,” said his sister, Maya Soetoro. “He was always smart, but he found himself a meaningful participant in all of that. It was the first time he was really confronted with black culture. He really had to find his place in the world. And that requires a great deal of reflection and a great deal of study.”
Though Obama is not a product of the typical African-American experience, he finds himself on the verge of becoming one of the most prominent national spokesmen for the black community. Historically, he has not always managed to please that constituency.
In the late 1980s, as the first African-American to head the prestigious Harvard Law Review, Obama was criticized for failing to promote blacks and women in the editorial ranks of the publication.
“It was the first time that I had to deal with something that I expect I will have to deal with in the future, which is balancing a broader constituency with the specific expectations of being an African-American in a position, particularly the first African- American,” Obama said.

Then there was the backlash he received for once trying to unseat Bobby Rush. Nearly every Sunday morning for months during the Senate primary, he campaigned in black churches on Chicago’s West and South Sides, mending political fences.

From the pulpit, he would slip into a deep Midwestern drawl and tout his legislative accomplishments on issues that directly affect black lives: racial profiling legislation, death penalty reform, the expansion of health care for poor families. In the end, he won the African-American vote overwhelmingly, and blacks now are eyeing his political rise with pride.

    More Obama Documents Dissappear

I ran across an Obama image in google “Top Student: “What Kind of Minorities Do Firms Want?”

The image is kind of hard to read so I went looking for text here:

Top Student: What Kind of Minorities Do Firms Want?
    By: David Rubenstein

    Photograph: Robert Lieberman
    The Chicago Reporter
    Issue 221
    July, 1990

The last thing that Barack Obama will have to worry about next year when he graduates is job offers. Obama finished his second year at Harvard Law School this spring and has been elected to lead the Harvard Law Review, a prestigious position traditionally reserved for a top student.

“It’s a great time to be a young black law school graduate - if you’re from Harvard and in the top quarter of your class,” said Obama. “But the point is that there are a lot of talented young minorities who may not have been able to go to the top schools. For example, a lot of minorities go to state schools due to financial constraints.

“Until the minorities who are going to the good but not the most prestigious schools, those who are doing a good job, who are highly competent and have the intelligence and the energy to do terrific work - until those people are looked at and hired in significant numbers - I think you are going to continue to have serious recruitment and retention problems.”

Before going to law school, Obama spent four years in Chicago, working at the Developing Communities Project on the South Side. Currently, he is a summer associate at the firm of Hopkins & Sutter in Chicago. Last summer he worked at Sidley & Austin.

“Certainly, a lot of large frims are interested in hiring more minorities,” he said. “The issue you confront is: What kind of minorities are the firms looking for? I certainly wouldn’t have a hard time finding a job in Chicago. I have all the right credentials.”

Even firms that are making an effort to recruit minorities - and there still are not many of them, Obama said - are reluctant to take a chance on students who do not have the top credentials. It has been said, Obama noted, that it may be time to ask if minorities are getting the same right to be “mediocre” as white males.

I like to try to track things to their source (hoping other treasures will also be lying about) so I found that the blog text source came from “The Chicago Reporter”.
    ok
The Reporter has an archive so I went to it’s 1990 page (which is when Obama was a Harvard law student)
    Here is the thing.
You can click on every back issue link on the page and they will load right up - but the July issue containing Obama’s reference to blacks time to be as “mediocre as white’s” in hiring statement is gone gone gone…

Humm, Do you think The Chicago Reporter is coverin up for Obama?
A lot of that goin round.

I love it when a hunt works out :)

rumor of “nuclear dirt bomb” against Michelle Obama
    by voila
Fri May 16, 2008 at 01:41:56 PM PDT
Hillary Clinton-backer, former kossack and smear-merchant extraordinaire L.C. Johnson claims, on his site, that

I now have it from two three four sources (three who are close to senior Republicans) that there is video dynamite–Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” at Jeremiah Wright’s church. Republicans may have a lousy record when it comes to the economy and the management of the war in Iraq, but they are hell on wheels when it comes to opposition research. Someone took the chance and started reviewing the recordings from services at Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Christ. Holy smoke!! I am told there is a clip that is being held for the fall to drop at the appropriate time. The last thing Barack and Michelle need is a new clip that raises further questions about her judgment and temperament.

    voila’s diary :: ::
I was led to this from a link at RedState:

According to Jim Geraghty at The Campaign Spot, Larry Johnson is a Hillary supporter. So the following from Johnson’s blog, No Quarter USA is, happily, blue on blue fire.

“blue on blue fire” - such a pretty image!

Larry J. goes on to surmise:

Does Barack have an obligation to tell the Democrats, super delegates in particular, about this tape? Did Barack and his campaign do their basic homework and identify this tape as a potential problem? And, more importantly, do they have a copy? Probably better to deal with this issue before the convention rather than wait for October. What do you think?

    Is Larry starting rumors again…?

Some claim that he was responsible for the whole “madrassa” smear.

For this one, though, it’d seem that they’d need to have the “smoking gun.”

    Wouldn’t they?

I believe that if such a thing existed, they would have used it, as they’re clearly desperate to have HRC to run against, rather than Obama.

    RS ends with:

Now who would ever believe Michelle Obama would say something like that? Pass the popcorn.

oh - and their title is

Michelle Obama Rails Against “Whitey” - Game Over.

oh, we know they’d like for it to be so - but, not so much.
