The Hive - What Has Rev. Wright Wrought?

Here again is our weekend discussion thread, where members can hold forth on things that may not relate directly to the news of the day.

All we ask is that we try to keep the conversation on a level that you would not mind having your sainted mother or teenaged daughter read.

As usual, the discussion need not be limited to Mr. Obama’s future, in light of the Wright revelations.

It’s still a free country. (At least until next January.)

  2. DW

Frankly, Steve, I doubt it will hurt him. We’ve all seen how something in the news can be huge for a week or two, with a promise of dire consequences -then suddenly it’s last week’s news and everyone’s onto some other topic.
Between that, the race card, his ability to charm the hell out of people, Hillary Clinton’s talent for making an idiot of herself and the simple fact that most people -if they’re paying attention at all- only see what they want to see…
Cynical, I know, but there it is.

  3. Musette

I wish this could hurt Obama enough to cost him the nomination. In fact, I still hope it. However, anyone reading this site is already more informed than most of the rest of the U.S. This Wright hoopla seems like common knowledge to us, but how many individuals do you know who don’t read anything but celebrity news? Or only get their news from The Today Show? I have to often remind myself of this, because it’s natural human tendency to project our own situations on everyone else. There’s a saying I heard that goes “just because you have not seen a black swan doesn’t mean there are no black swans.” Just because you know and care about this doesn’t mean your neighbor, or your sister, or your college professor or your hairdresser does.

And considering that Obama lovers are all “You know, hope is just soooo great, and it could, like, really change the world. Like, whoa.” I don’t honestly think that they’re likely to reconsider based on actual facts.

  4. Noyzmakr

IMHO this has hurt Obama. I have 5 siblings all of which are swayed easily by “evening news’ broadcasts and they really don’t pay that much attention to current events. 3 are sworn libs and the other 2 are iffy republicans. Then there is my mom (78) and her friends (mostly democrats, 1 black) and I have asked all 12 of these people how they feel about Obama now. Before this episode broke 6 of these people said they were voting for Obama, 3 for Hillary and 3 for McCain. Now…. 5 for Hillary and 7 for McCain. Most understood without my prodding that you don’t listen to that kind of speech for 20 years without agreeing with it. His media praised speech didn’t help at all either. On the contrary, many expressed disgust in the way he threw his grandmother under Rosa Parks’ bus. This wasn’t a scientific poll, but it does reflect some of the angst I’m hearing here in this, mostly democrat town. Obama will surely get %70-%80 of the black vote. The rest will be those who are blind to any misdeed of his. I think he’s finished, but that’s just my opinion.

  5. DANEgerus

“try to keep the conversation on a level that you would not mind having your sainted mother or teenaged daughter read”…

..but not my “racist” grandmother, who raised me after my polygamist Muslim father and polygamist Muslim step-father tossed me aside, leaving me desperate to rationalize my “identity”, after years of private school, by embracing an ex-Muslim black-supremacist hater.

I’m not even going to visit that “typical white person” on Easter as I’ll be too busy sucking up to those that will deliver those bundles of absentee ballots from inner city “poor” to guarantee I get to the WhiteHouse and begin the serious work of income redistribution.

  6. JohnMG

I’m not at all convinced that Obama isn’t playing this thing like a fine fiddle. Consider for a moment how adroitly he obliquely addresses an issue of controversy by minimizing its importance, and then saying that we need to get beyond this “old style of political divisiveness” and start bringing people together by changing the political atmosphere. In other words, he’s playing on the fact that many people are tired enough of the status quo that they’ll believe in anything (or nothing, as it turns out) he offers as a solution, so long as it offers “hope” and “change”. Much the same thing happened at the end of the Clinton presidency. People just wanted to “move on” we’ve been told. This appears to me to be Obama’s game plan–accusing his opposition of creating a meaningless distraction or a baseless personal attack so that he can say “See, with those guys in power, it’ll be the same old thing. If you want something changed, vote for me.”

  7. drdobgyn

As a former member of TUCC and an Obama supporter I believe that this will only hurt him when it comes to independents. His base will stay with him and be never had conservatives. If he makes it through this and the super’s don’t steal it he can still rebound in time for the general. That is if nothing else major comes up ie Retzko etc. This race really comes down to the independent voter

  8. 1sttofight

    doc,
Since you are an admitted obama-messia supporter, would you please enlighten the rest of us rednecks on exactly what he has done to qualify him to be POTUS?
Gees, what has he done, Period?

  9. drdobgyn

To be honest not much if you compare him to McCain but our current president has shown that “apparent” experience doesn’t really matter. I read recently that this will be the second I’d third time that the president elect will be a senator with no executive experience. So other than his time in the senate and being a prisoner of war what does McCain bring to the table? Frankly, none of them really have, what has been considered in the past, the depth of experience that people expect from the president.
I do not have an Obama messiah complex, I believe he showed poor judgement in not putting some distance between himself and Rev Wright because we all knee this would come up and bite him in the ass and he missed an opportunity to squash all the talk by not being up front from the beginning. However I believe in him more than Clinton.

  10. 1sttofight

he showed poor judgement in not putting some distance between himself and Rev Wright because we all knee this would come up and bite him in the ass

Why would it bite him in the ass?

Are you trying to to say the majority of Americans would not agree or vote for him?

Are you saying he is trying to bamboozle the honest voters?

Are you saying that he cannot be elected honestly?

Tell us rednecks what exactly what you mean OOO powerful black man.

  11. Noyzmakr

DOC say…. “….I believe he showed poor judgement in not putting some distance between himself and Rev Wright”

The time to gain distance from Rev. Wright was 20 years ago. The poor judgement came in staying that long.

  12. JohnMG

The problem with your contentions should be obvious. First, while you are correct in stating that this will only be the third time a senator has become president, to say that Obama’s qualifications are on par with McCain’s is absurd. Of all three candidates, McCain has served longer and under more presidents, and has sat on more committees, both when in the minority and in the majority, than either Hillary or Barack, and certainly has a better understanding of the military and national defense as well. Claining that Obama has equal credentials based on time served would be the same as saying a first-term carpenter apprentice is as capable as a 30-year journeyman, or that a newly-minted intern is as knowledgable as a physician with 30 years practicing medicine.
Second, you’re not running against the last guy, and yes, the last guy has made some mistakes. All presidents. But none of the candidates, and neither you nor I have access to the information crossing the presidents desk, so to blindly label the decisions he has had to make flawed is pretty pretentious. History will be a better judge than you or me. And speaking of history, there was a guy named Carter………
Lastly, Mr. Obama’s veneer is wearing very thin. In my opinion, a more honest approach would have been for him to say publicly that in order for him to prevail he has to broaden his appeal to all groups of voters. And in so doing, nobody is going to be 100% satisfied. Instead, he has alienated vast numbers of voters by coming across as disingenuous. My own quarrel with him are his policies on abortion, taxation, military readiness, national security, and others. It has nothing to do with his skin color or ancestry. The beautiful thing about this country is that we can all make our choices free of prejudice (prejudice in the pure meaning of the word). No one could tell you that you can’t back Obama. That is your privelege. For your information, McCain wasn’t my preferred candidate, but of the three possibilities, he will get my vote, as I feel he is the best of the available choices for America. That will always be the basis of my vote.

  13. 1sttofight

    But, But he is black.

He can screw up forever and it will not be his fault.

  14. Noyzmakr

This isn’t news, but I just thought it appropriate for Easter. Sorry about “all Capitals”. It’s a copy and paste job from an email. I don’t know the origin of the story so I can’t give proper identification to its author.
Well worth reading none the less.

    IT WAS ONLY A QUARTER
SEVERAL YEARS AGO, A PREACHER FROM OUT-OF-STATE ACCEPTED A CALL
    TO A HOUSTON, TEXAS CHURCH.
SOME WEEKS AFTER HE ARRIVED, HE HAD AN OCCASION TO RIDE THE BUS
FROM HIS HOME TO THE DOWNTOWN AREA. WHEN HE SAT DOWN, HE
DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER HAD ACCIDENTALLY GIVEN HIM A QUARTER
    TOO MUCH CHANGE.
AS HE CONSIDERED WHAT TO DO, HE THOUGHT TO HIMSELF, “YOU’D
BETTER GIVE THE QUARTER BACK. IT WOULD BE WRONG TO KEEP IT.”
THEN HE THOUGHT, “OH, FORGET IT, IT’S ONLY A QUARTER. WHO WOULD WORRY
    ABOUT THIS LITTLE AMOUNT?
ANYWAY, THE BUS COMPANY GETS TOO MUCH FARE; THEY WILL NEVER
MISS IT. ACCEPT IT AS A ‘GIFT FROM GOD’ AND KEEP QUIET.”
WHEN HIS STOP CAME, HE PAUSED MOMENTARILY AT THE DOOR, AND THEN
HE HANDED THE QUARTER TO THE DRIVER AND SAID, “HERE, YOU GAVE ME
    TOO MUCH CHANGE.”
THE DRIVER, WITH A SMILE, REPLIED, “AREN’T YOU THE NEW PREACHER
IN TOWN? I HAVE BEEN THINKING A LOT LATELY ABOUT GOING SOMEWHERE TO
WORSHIP. I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT YOU WOULD DO IF I GAVE YOU
TOO MUCH CHANGE. I’LL SEE YOU AT CHURCH ON SUNDAY.”
WHEN THE PREACHER STEPPED OFF OF THE BUS, HE LITERALLY GRABBED
THE NEAREST LIGHT POLE, HELD ON, AND SAID, “OH GOD, I ALMOST
SOLD YOUR SON FOR A QUARTER.”
OUR LIVES ARE THE ONLY BIBLE SOME PEOPLE WILL EVER READ.
THIS IS A REALLY SCARY EXAMPLE OF HOW MUCH PEOPLE WATCH US AS CHRISTIANS AND WILL PUT US TO THE TEST!
ALWAYS BE ON GUARD AND REMEMBER THAT YOU CARRY THE NAME OF CHRIST ON YOUR SHOULDERS
    WHEN YOU CALL YOURSELF “CHRISTIAN.”
WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS; THEY BECOME WORDS.
WATCH YOUR WORDS; THEY BECOME ACTIONS.
WATCH YOUR ACTIONS; THEY BECOME HABITS.
WATCH YOUR HABITS; THEY BECOME CHARACTER.
WATCH YOUR CHARACTER; IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY.

    Happy Easter everyone!!

Frankly, I doubt this will hurt Barack Hussein “Osama” (thank you Ted Kennedy for giving us that one) Obama. Those people who back him are already too brainwashed to switch, and Hitlery’s supporters are already in the tank for her. Where this WILL hurt the ‘rats is among independents and undecideds, and according to Scott Rasmussen, it already is.

I gleaned this from The American Thinker ( http://www.americanthinker.com.....ama_a.html ) and it was quite interesting:

Very bad poll news for Obama and the Dems
    Richard Baehr
The latest news from the Rasmussen Tracking Poll is very encouraging for McCain.

Obama’s favorable-unfavorable is 46 to 51, its all time low, demonstrating no ability yet to stanch the bleeding. No wonder they trotted out Bill Richardson with his Fu Man Chu beard.

But here is really evidence of what has happened with white voters:

Arkansas: McCain leads Clinton 50-43. McCain leads Obama by 59-30.
Kentucky: McCain leads Clinton 53-43. He destroys Obama 64-28.
Lower middle income whites have deserted Obama. In one Pennsylvania poll, Clinton now leads Obama by 26. She has now taken the lead from him in North Carolina. Rasmussen national numbers: Clinton 46, Obama 44.
Head to head general: McCain 49, Obama 41; McCain 49, Clinton 43.

No question that Hillary is the stronger general election candidate. She is more competitive in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida. Obama does better than Hillary in states Dems will lose anyway: Georgia, Wyoming, Kansas, Nebraska.

    Other good news:

Only Arkansas among Southern states was really in play. Now McCain leads even Clinton there.
McCain is very well-positioned in Florida: Sen. Lieberman will get Jewish votes for him, veterans, Cubans, northern Panhandle whites don’t like Obama or Clinton.
Virginia is suprisingly strong for McCain, who holds solid leads over both Dems.

It’s not over by a long shot, but Obama is wounded, and Hillary is no more popular now than she ever was. While I’m not a McCain fan (I’ve hacked on him as much as anyone else), I damn sure don’t want either the racist socialist or the racist communist (take your pick as to which is which) to run the joint for the next four years.

  16. drdobgyn

Never said his experience was on par with McCain because it is not. It would have been better for him to finish his first term then run. I always thought his lack of experience would be an issue for some. Again for you not versed in the history or the culture of the traditional Black church I cannot help you to understand so I won’t try. Rev. Wright married me, baptized my children and funeralized my mother and my sister. Rev. Wright is not for everyone but for 12,000 members of TUCC he and that church are an important part of their spiritual life. Much in the same way Falwell, Robertson, TD Jakes, Osteen may not be for everyone.

  17. 1sttofight

Rev. Wright is not a Christian.

He is a racist bigot. Nothing more.
And if you believe as he does, you are the same sad sack he is.
Spare us your pitiful excuses for your so called religion. You are nothing but a bunch of racist whores.

Hate has no place in religion unless you are a black or a muslim, same difference.

  18. retire05

drdobgyn, since you obviously live in Chicago, (TUCC home) perhaps you would like to answer a few questions about your personal knowledge of Senator Obama’s district there while he was an Illinois senator.
While he was letting Tony Rezko, a friend since he was in his last year of law school at Harvard, contribute to his campaign coffers (first, according to Obama himself around $60,000, now admitting it was over $250,000) what did he do to stop Tony Rezko contributing to the inner city blight with eleven more buildings, four of which are now boarded up? When Rezko was charging rent on low income housing that had substandard plumbing and no heat in the winter, what did Senator Obama do about that? Did the drug dealing in those neighbors decrease? How about gangs? Did kids still have to walk through them on their way to school? Did the schools get better? Did he organize (remember, he is an Alinsky trained organizer) job fairs and bring in jobs to his district so people could work and not have to depend on welfare?

Senator Obama lives in a $1.65 mil home in Hyde Park. His grandmother who raised him and rode the bus so she could sent him to a private prep school, still lives in a two bedroom condo, the same condo he was raised in (so you could assume that in nearly 30 years the neighborhood had changed and probably not for the better). Why is that? His step mother, who he says he is very close to, that lives in Kenya has no electricity and her home is really not much more than a stucco shack. Why is that? Why is a man who is telling us that we need to do more, not doing anything for his own family? He can give Rev. Wright and Trinity Church $22,500.00 in 2006, but his stepmother has no electrity and lives in basic poverty and he does nothing for her, except to promise she will be at his inauguration?

And this Easter, with Obama being the only thing left of family his white grandmother has, he is going to the beach and not in Hawaii so granny gets to be alone again?

Does all this not speak to the very soul of the man? He was willing to change the story of his grandmother who was almost mugged by a panhandler (P. 46 of his book) to suit his comparison of a man who claims to be man of God but preaches the hate filled rhetoric of Cole and is as anti-American as I have ever heard so he can make excuses for Wright? He tries to brush Wright’s remarks to having come from someone who has suffered under the burdens of discrimination, certainly knowing Wright’s own family (mother and father) were well educated Americans who were definately not on the lower rung of the economic ladder.

Of course we know that his grandmother is not the only person he has throw under the bus on his meteoric rise to political power. The very Chicago politican that hooked him up with powerful money people to aid him in his first race, was also thrown under the bus by Obama when he sent in his goons to challange the signatures on the ballot petition when she decided to run against him.

No matter what you think, drdobgyn, it is not just Obama’s association with Wright. It is his association with Tony Rezko, a friendship that he lied, YES LIED, about when questioned about the purchase of his home and campaign donations that Rezko bundled. It was his friendship with two terrorists, William Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn, that David Axelrod, his campaign manager admits is still in existance. It is about his take-no-prisoners style of Chicago politics.

You see, some of us have followed Senator Obama’s career since he gave the key note speech at the DNC convention in 2004 and then later stated, in front of cameras, that he had no intention of running for POTUS in ‘08 as he would not have (according to Obama himself) enoungh experience.

Some of us see him for what he is, a smooth talker who has such political ambition as to be dangerous and an attachment to a man who has seemingly replace even Obama’s own grandmother in the very bottom of his heart.

  19. U NO HOO

Do not count Hillary out, ever!

  20. Sharps Rifle

Again for you not versed in the history or the culture of the traditional Black church I cannot help you to understand so I won’t try.

Funny, I don’t seem to recall Dr. King calling out “God d—n America”

    Maybe he really wasn’t black?

Or maybe he was the real American.

Anyhow, Wright is beneath contempt, and anyone who would expose their kids to his rantings (and now the venom of that slug Moss) is equally beneath contempt. Racism and hate need to be taught, and a big mouthed “preacher” is a good teacher…especially when the congregation wants to hear their own prejudices and hatreds be affirmed.

Christian identity and Black liberation “theologies” are just two sides of the same counterfeit coin.

  21. wardmama4

drd - you are missing the point - you could go to every church I’ve gone to in my life (military living, go where you are, just make sure you go hear the Word of God) - and you would be welcomed and would not feel uncomfortable. . . After listening to Rev Wright and reading the transcript - I know I would not feel welcome or comfortable at TUCC - that in itself is OK by some standards but not when you (Wright and his supporters) claim the church is Christian and Rev Wright is Christian. . .

That is the biggest problem for me. . .And yes I have personal experience with this type of situation - I worked for the Equal Opportunity Office (Army) and went to the first Martin Luther King observance and was asked (more than once) what I was doing there - that too is wrong.

Just as Rev Wright preaching hate and racism and hiding behind the Christian label is wrong - and I believe and have said the same thing of those vile white hatemongers in Kansas - Westboro Baptist. . .

But until the Churchs, the Church Leaders and the People speak up and say Enough - this vile hate, these liars and false prophets will keep on - the sad thing is that they are poisoning another generation with their vile spewings - all supposedly in the name of God. . .

Noyzmaker - what you printed is the essence of being Christian - doing the right thing, for the right reasons - making your life a testament to your beliefs.

  22. Noyzmakr

retire05 Undeniably, the most truthful assessment of BHO I’ve seen to date.
BHO mouths many flowery words, but says nothing at all.

  23. Noyzmakr

Thanks wardmama4. I recieved it in email form and din’t know anymore about it other than it touched me.

  24. drdobgyn

I will say to retire I am not an expert on all things Obama. The man has things to answer to no doubt about it. As I said before he started believing his own hype and forgot the stuff at home that could hold him back on a national level.

Ward at least 3 Sundays a month buses of White people travel to TUCC for worship service and it gas been my experience that they all received the hand of fellowship and they enjoyed the worship service. Have NEVER seen a visitor get up and leave ever. There is no preaching of hate nobody hates the country and so what if they did? I’m sure Dr King did say god damn America and he would have been well within his right considering what was going on. You can hate where this country is going and the injustices here and abroud. If you read the transcript you would know he was said ” we shout not be be singing God bless America but rather God “damn” America. A setament that has been voiced in a number of churches especially after natural disasters.
I agree that racism is taught and it begins at home just ask that in-bred ignorant mf 1st but we don’t teach hate or racism just preach the truth about many people in thus country both Black and White who are f—ed up. As Rev Wright is fond of saying, “just because he is not your color doesn’t mean he is your kind” In the same way be preaches about the injustice in this country, which is run by a bunch if rich White guys, it is nit all about Whute people, we as Black are equally at fault for not taking advantage of our possibilities. Spending too much time on immoral pursuits and not enough time on education and the responsibilities of a man and father.

  25. Sharps Rifle

“A setament that has been voiced in a number of churches especially after natural disasters.”

Not in mine…my priest always says “God SAVE America.” BIG difference…to damn is to cast into the fires of Hell…to save is the Christian thing, since you’re asking God to spare His children.

Sorry…shoving it off by saying that “a number of churches” say that swill is dishonest and a cop out. When Robertson and Falwell made their comments about 9/11 being “God’s punishment,” they were properly shouted down and shamed for it. I also have to wonder how many of Falwell’s congregants gave him hell for that comment, and I would also not doubt if he lost more than a few.

Speaks volumes about the self-loathing nature of the libs who’d attend Wright’s services that they’d willingly submit to his venom…but then, I never could figure masochists out.

  26. JohnMG

So you catagorically deny that Wright said the things recorded on tape, and those things you don’t deny he said, you rationalize as being justifiable by the black experience. Still you persist in saying we whites just don’t understand the history and culture of the black church. OK, maybe so. You still have a problem though. There is the small matter of the Ten Commandments. “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain”. To insist that this is a Christian church yet to condone such emanations from the pulpit is a study in contradictions. I have NEVER heard such utterances in any church I’ve been in, so if this type of carrying-on is commonplace in most black churches (something not borne out in any of the many black churches at which I’ve been a guest), then spare me the experience, as it is certainly not Christian doctrine. On another level, history shows no record dating back to Jesus’ time on earth that reveals a Christian presense in what we now know as Africa. Christianity was brought to that continent by white missionaries, those very same folks finding no trace of said beliefs extant. Explain how Christianity survived and expanded world-wide from its foundation in the middle-east, yet became extinct throughout the African continent. For if it had been there, it should have flourished as it did elsewhere. Christ’s teachings should be universal. We weren’t given the “Ten Suggestions”. Mr. Wright’s interpretation of Christianity often ignores some basic tenets of the doctrine. Are we to pick and choose which of these tenets we wish to obey? Christ said, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Light. Follow Me”, not take me wher you would like to go.

  27. 1sttofight

just ask that in-bred ignorant mf 1st

I’m going to start by linking back to a few quotes from a few posts that SG has made in the last few days. These are almost all from Jeremiah Wright:

    http://sweetness-light.com/arc.....ch#respond

Reverend JEREMIAH WRIGHT Jr. (Senior Pastor, Trinity United Church of Christ): They said, “Are we going to be a black church in a black community? Or are we going to continue to be a white church in blackface?” I said, “The greatest need is for kids who have not been taught their story. To go back to Deuteronomy 6, you must teach your children their story. Who’s doing it?” Nobody was.

Dr. HOPKINS: One of the incentives for Africentricity is to pass on the positive, holistic black values, African values to a younger generation.

HUDSON: Wright himself was installed as a chief in Ghana in August 2003, after years of building relationships with that country. Trinity donated a computer lab and generators for a local hospital in the town of Saltpond.

    http://sweetness-light.com/arc.....e#comments

    From the Black Values Statement:

Basic education for all Blacks should include Mathematics, Science, Logic, General Semantics, Participative Politics, Economics and Finance, and the Care and Nurture of Black minds.

    http://sweetness-light.com/arc.....y#comments

Educating our children to the reality of white supremacy becomes crucial for African Americans and for all Americans. Educating our children is a term that I use pointedly. I do not mean “training” our children. That is a part of our problem now.

The term “white supremacy,” however, is much more accurate. White supremacy undergirds the thought, the order that they might become more rounded and fully productive citizens in this culture and in this country. What we need to do, however, is go beyond training and educate our children!
We need to educate our children to the reality of white supremacy. We need to educate our children as to the difference between desegregation and equality, the difference between the legal issues and the spiritual issues; and the difference between access in this country as opposed to acceptance in this country!

We need to educate our children about the white supremacist’s foundations of the educational system, the educational philosophy and the very curricula that immerses them in a culture of white supremacy from kindergarten through graduate school! We need to educate our children how to navigate the dangerous waters that lie ahead of them in this 21st century.
In navigating the waters, our children need to be aware of the shark-infested waters and the other predators that live in those waters.

Hurricane Katrina gave us some important images that are analogous to the future that our children have to learn how to navigate. When the levees in Louisiana broke alligators, crocodiles and piranha swam freely through what used to be the streets of New Orleans. That is an analogy that we need to drum into the heads of our African American children (and indeed, all children!).

In the flood waters of white supremacy that our children have to negotiate economically, educationally, culturally, socially and spiritually, there are not only sharks in those waters, there are also crocodiles, alligators and piranha!

The policies, with which we live now and against which our children will have to struggle in order to bring about “the beloved community,” are policies shaped by predators.

We are on the verge of launching our African-centered Christian school. The dream of that school, which we articulated in 1979, was built on hope. That hope still lives. That school has to have at its core an understanding and assessment of white supremacy as we deconstruct that reality to help our children become all that God created them to be when God made them in God’s own image.

This is something I posted about at another site earlier today and in light of all the above quotes from Jeremiah Wright and one of his parishioners and favorite authors, Hopkins, I thought I would share it here too. Obama talks about the future and breaking free of the racism of the past (the “post-racial” candidate according to the Lib MSN) but all the above quotes tell us where the mindset of the leadership of his church is. They are very much looking forward into the future. A lot of people have questioned how the Obamas or others could take their young children to listen to this kind of garbage.

TUCC is founding a school for children beginning with Kindergarten and 1st Grade this fall called Kwame Nkrumah Academy. According to the church’s now infamous bulletin and the school’s website, it is to be “a GLOBAL teaching and learning center grounded by principles of AFRICAN-centered educational excellence” It’s mission is “to prepare FUTURE WORLD LEADERS by equipping them with a strong sense of PERSONAL IDENTITY, sound understanding of GLOBAL ETHICS and a superb integration of academic and LEADERSHIP skills (capitals are mine).

So who is this Kwame Nkrumah that the school is named for? He is an Ghanan who came to America for education, became enamored by Socialist leaders of early 20th Century Black movements like Marcus Garvey and CCR James (the early pre-cursers of the later Black Liberation Theology and Nation of Islam ideologies which are basically opposite sides of the same coin), went back to Ghana, formed a political party, and led the “liberation” of Ghana from colonial rule in 1960. He was very “charismatic” and Obama-esque in raising the peoples’ “hope”s based on the “change” he was bringing to the country. He set up the economy on socialism taking it from one of the strongest in Africa at the time of the beginning of his rule to one of the worst by the end. He over-ambitiously began a dam project for which he greatly increased taxes to try to pay for it. He set himself up as a dictator for life. He was eventually overthrown when he was off on a trip to Moscow, Vietnam and China and when he returned the president-dictator of a next-door African country gave him refuge and made him a vice-dictator until he became ill, went to Romania and died.

Also if you look at the colors of the Trinity website, they are the colors of the Ghanan flag not the American which makes sense to me now that as was noted above Rev. Wright is a Ghanan chief.

So what kind of AMERICAN patriotism and history do you think a school founded on such a “superb” example of “leadership skills” is this school which Wright has also described as a “Christian” school going to produce? Is this the kind of school that Michelle and Barack would approve of and financially support for the education of their children? Didn’t Barack say something in his “brilliant” speech about segregated schools being a failures?

This issue is just so much more than a few quotes and videos from a few sermons and papers. This is about who Wright is and what he represents and either the complete cluelessness/naivety or the complete dishonesty of the guy who has mesmerized half the Dems in America and probably millions elsewhere. He has done nothing to “change” how things are done regarding his church’s leadership and goals. He is not going to do anything that will change anything regarding the problem of racism in America either anymore than he can change the way Iran, Al Qaeda and the rest of the Islamic nuts rant on about the Great and the Little Satans. Change? HA!! I’d laugh at the ridiculousness of it but I’m just too distressed.

You didn’t think I was going to let the redneck country f–k get away with calling my mother a “racist whore” 1st @ 935 pm. I see its okay for him to spew his racially charged bullshit but when I respond in kind I’m the one who gets accused of name calling. Ah, the double standard. What’s good for the inbred redneck piece of s–t is not good for me. Just proving Rev Wright’s point.

What’s the matter doc? Truth hurt?
Hell, you could run away to Africia like your hero Wright. Its such a utopia.

Retire05, Albertafriend, and many others have made some outstanding points. But I would to point out again the name that is missed the most when discussing Obama. Without the financial backing of George Soros
and his other radical friends, I doubt Obama would be a US Senator, let alone be in the presidential primary.

“It is well-known that George Soros, the hedge-fund manager, major Democratic Party donor and anti-Israel crusader, has been a generous contributor to Barack Obama. But relatively few people realize that a loophole in McCain-Feingold allowed Soros his family members to be particularly generous in support of Obama’s Senatorial campaign.

Because Obama was running against Blair Hull in the primary and then Jack Ryan in the general (both multi-millionaires), Obama could, and did, receive especially large donations from individuals, to so-called “millionaires exception.” Normally individuals are limited to giving $2300 to candidates in federal elections, but when candidates are running against millionaires, these limits are lifted and candidates are allowed to receive up to $12,000 from a single individual. Soros and his family gave Barack Obama $60,000. This does not include money that Soros was able to funnel to so-called 527 groups (Moveon.org, for example) that have also been politically active; nor does it include money that Soros was able to raise from tapping a network of friends, business associates, and employees.”

    George Soros continues to Aid
Obama with fundraisers and I suspect a whole lot more than we know.

” Another billionaire, George Soros, a longtime supporter of liberal causes, was a co-chairman of the event, which drew 300 guests who were asked to pay $2,300 apiece. A private reception was tossed in for about a dozen people who had raised $25,000 or more for the candidate. By many accounts, waiters in white tuxedos flitted among the crowd, and the supermodel Tyra Banks added sparkle to the guest list.

For another example of the Soros presence, see this event a few weeks ago at a NYC condo where Soros was pictured with Obama. ”

IMO, a whole lot more needs to be done to expose the radical friends that Obama has around him.

Hello everyone! I’ve lurked here over two yrs, but nothing has moved me to write prior to now. I feel as if you’re all old friends…

I find the dr.’s handspringing contortions used to justify the label of “Christian” for Wright’s preaching amazing. Black liberation theology has more than a few quirks — lets quote the person who codifed it, shall we.

    James Cone:
Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

    [emph. added]

After scouring my cpy of the NT, I haven’t been able to find The Lord espousing the need for His followers to kill people… I have read such exhortations in the Koran, though. Since Wright ack. his theo. origins in Cone & Hopper, his tirades are not unexpected.

Friends, I’ve figured it out! We are just confused - caused by our lack of attention span! Wright’s sect is a sect of Islam!

I’ve *read* Hopper, Cone, and will (starting next week when my order arrives) Wright. I’ve ordered DVDs, et al.

    I shall report back.

    Yep, You nailed it.

Hate has no place in religion unless you are a black or a muslim, same difference.

Apparently black “christians” and muslims have a lot in common, much more than I/we thought.
So Obamamessia really is a ” black christian” AND a muslim.
There is no difference in his eyes.

    MM,
    Welcome to the hive.

I was going to add more but the bourbon is kicking in so I will say no more lest I embarrass myself. ;)

  44. wardmama4

Wow, after reading retire’s posting - maybe HWCBN did this Wright thing himself - what better way to deflect from our associations and financiers than create a malstrom over an issue guaran’ damn teed to raise everyone’s hackles (and devolve into a real he said/he said insult and slur thow fest). . . Or to divert attention to the fact that he won’t even do for the poor of his own family - what makes anyone thing he will do for the poor of his own country?

Drd - I just have one question - why did you assume I was white? Is it because I’m on the opposite side from you on this whole Obama issue? I know what I said about my mother & father - but they aren’t my mother and father - unlike (but somewhat close to) Obama - my mother didn’t even bother to stick around nor speak as to who my father was - so I can be anything or everything. . .

Do you not see that is exactly my point - assumptions are made and then everyone not you is covered in them - and it hurts everyone - those making assumptions, those clumping everyone not them together and those who have done nothing but are being branded by the same baseless ignorance.

Enough is enough - I’ve lived overseas - I’ve seen bigotry that makes the worst here in America seem downright pleasant, I’ve seen white people walking to a job to be able to put indoor plumbing in their home - I have seen enough to know when I’ve got it good.

And here in America - even the worst off have it good - all they have to do is reach out - and someone will feed them, clothe them, house them - stop throwing blame and start using the hand reaching out to you as a hand up - not as a hand out.

  45. DEZ

    Bravo Wardmama.
    Oh and Happy Easter all.

  46. Clarissimus

    Dear drdobgyn,

Not sure why you keep coming back to this site, you certainly have a fair amount of fortitude to wade through all the disrespect you’ve received from posters who should know better than to resort to insults. But if you can spare a moment for me I’d love to ask you a few questions about this church of yours and its pastor.

I’m a 25 year old white Christian who grew up as a conservative Lutheran (and I still am) but I have visited many other churches with different theologies and styles of worship. Several of them were black churches, and by that I mean the vast majority of the congregation appeared to have African ancestry (for example Rock Church of Chicago.) Never was I treated with scorn, glares, or a cold shoulder. Every time I was greeted with handshakes, hugs, and smiles. In other words, they tended to be much more friendly than most white churches ;-)

But never did I hear a pastor blame problems on “rich white people,” but on the sin that separates every man from God. Never did I hear a pastor endorse a political candidate or rail against a foreign policy decision. Instead I heard pastors that exhorted their congregants to love one another, to respect their neighbors and family members, to stay away from crime and drugs, to give their lives in service to their communities, and to spread the gospel message of the salvation of Christ. If I ever visited a church where the pastor put more emphasis on “rich people are oppressing poor people” then he did on the redemptive, atoning work of Jesus, I don’t know that I could consider it truly a Christian Church.

Now I have been taught that part of the spirit of the eighth commandment (Thou shalt not lie) was “put the best construction on everything” (that’s from the Lutheran catechism.) That means that when faced with an evil report about someone, to assume there’s been some kind of misunderstanding or mistake. In this case it means I don’t want to jump to conclusions and assume your pastor is an awful man because of a few excerpts of sermons that have been flying around.

So please tell me that this is not the typical stuff of Rev. Wright’s preaching. Please tell me that he usually is talking about building up communities, about love, service, self-sacrifice, about the fruits of the Spirit and the hope of the Gospel of Christ, not ranting about how rich white people are oppressing the country.

    Bravo! Wardmama! Give’m heck!

    Hello;
I am not sure if this is the proper thread for this- one of the threads I have read, regarding my following thoughts, has been closed. remove this if needed. please forgive spelling and typo’s- my hands don’t work properly and I am saving my type correction time for more beer.

It becomes clear that Obama has been indoctrinated for at least 20 years by the Reverend Wright and the “black
    liberation theology”.

It is obvious that this theology and Politics go hand in hand.

Just what is this theology that Barack believes in and worships in?

    …soldiers for Black freedom …Marxism… separitism…hatred

    From the TUCC’s own website:
(which they continue to clean up and REMOVE racist content from) in the reverends own words ( here:

    http://www.tucc.org/talking_points.htm )…

…”The vision statement of Trinity United Church of Christ is based upon the systematized liberation theology that
started in 1969 with the publication of Dr. James Cone’s book, Black Power and Black Theology.”

In a Sean Hannity interview I watched on TV, Reverend Wright repeatedly interupted Hannity asking if Hannity had
ever read James Cone…Cone, Cone, Cone, as if Hannity’s ignorance of what black liberation theology was precluded
    him from asking his questions.

Curious i looked up “black liberation theology” and this James Cone. I would say you will have to do your own
search, and, as Reverend Wright insisted of Hannity, just read.

So who is James Cone and what is a snippet of this Cone-gurus system of ‘liberation’ ideology that the Reverend
Wright and his website declares is the basis for the foundation of the church Obama would like us to believe didn’t
exist as portrayed while he was in the pews?
    ****
CONE:…”Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community.

If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.
The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. . . . Black theology will
accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine
love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal.
Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
    ****

…”the destruction of the white enemy…”.

Now, Obama can him&haw all he wants, so eloquently, to TRY to continue his Conscience of Deceptions (lies: and
there are many) like for instance, I never heard Rev. Wright say any of these things…
and when pressured days later to admit that he HAD (lied)— but, that he didn’t agree with Rev. Wright.

    Come on.

Wright’s mentor Cone: …”Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of
    the white enemy.”

Obama’s mentor, Wright: God Dam America! …white racist America…

Obama’s mentors Nation: the U.S. of KKK A.

Methinks Obama is extremely slick. Makes one think of a Manchurian Canidate.

The Communist Party USA , and Democratic-Socialists websites worship Barack.

Can one determine a persons character by the company they keep? What of those who flock to that person in belief
his character will support their message?

Obama has removed a page at his site in which the NEW an improved Black Panther Party submitted their endorsement and stamp of approval of Obama who they feel can help them to further their own agenda. Thier message is much the same as the TUCC’s. Again, One has to read their website, and make up their own mind as to the similarities of victimization, hatred, self sustainment and separtism ect.. They (BPP) want white America separated from blacks and for whites to purchase and provide them land to colonize.

When asked, a campaign spokesperson said THE NEWBPP addition was removed because they didn’t agree with an agenda promoting ‘violence.’ (NOT that the message or agenda itself was disagreeable…)

Did Obama sit in this church, while spiritualy advised by Reverend Wright himself, and finaly find himself in a
community he could belong too, while unaware of the foundation of this divisive, racist, separtist, hateful,
    biggoted, UnAmerican ideology?

This is a man of “UNITY?”

    Who is this Senator Obama?

For many years the Church website flew an African Flag; nary an American flag anywhere on the site. One of The
website’s 12 step program’s requirements is:(which also has been removed, but can be found)

…”A Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System. ”

Being that the black Value system appears to be founded, in Rev Wrights words and website content, on Black Power, Black liberation theology and, based on James Cone’s racist ideology one has to wonder where exactly Mr. Obama’s “Pledge Alligence” lies in an American system of equality and unity.

A Pledge Allegiance to what now has been shown to be an entirely biggotted racist system of values is not one of
    equality and unity.
A systemized liberation message that when exposed Obama is late in disowning and disapproving of. Or has he?

Could this explain Obama’s reluctance to wear an American Flag pin? To salute the American Flag in a proud manner?
Is it why he voted against “The Flag Protection Amendment”? An Amendment protecting our Nations Flag from being
desecrated. Protecting Our American Flag went down in flames by one Vote.
    Guess who’s.

One has to continue to question, no matter how unifying a speech, his participation in, and being mentored and
spirtiualy advised, by a biggot who damns America and it’s white racists society, while requiring men women boys and
girls in the ‘teaching’ of, the Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness” and servants in the captors “white
    value system”.
    ****

What is “middleclassness” according to The Unity (unity?) Churchs website page? (”middleclassness” has also been
    removed from their site).

…”Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”

Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must keep the captive ignorant educationally, but
trained sufficiently well to serve the system. Also, the captors must be able to identify the “talented tenth” of
those subjugated, especially those who show promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the
    captor’s control.

Those so identified as separated from the rest of the people by:

Killing them off directly, and/or fostering a social system that encourages them to kill off one another.

Placing them in concentration camps, and/or structuring an economic environment that induces captive youth to fill
    the jails and prisons.

Seducing them into a socioeconomic class system which while training them to earn more dollars, hypnotizes them into believing they are better than others and teaches them to think in terms of “we” and “they” instead of “us”.

So, while it is permissible to chase “middle-incomeness” with all our might, we must avoid the third separation
method-the psychological entrapment of Black “middleclassness”: If we avoid the snare, we will also diminish our
“voluntary” contributions to methods A and B. And more importantly, Black people no longer will be deprived of their
birthright, the leadership, resourcefulness, and example of their own talented persons. ”
    ****
Do not strive towards a white middleclassedness or you are a captive sell out…

Whites have structured an economic environment to keep the black in concentration camps…jail

We are suppossed to believe Obama doesn’t know the edicts of his own church and it’s value system?

Who’s structured theology is ‘purposively “keeping the black man down”, Mr. Obama?

Who is it that is being acussed of this killing off the talented 10th, mr. Obama?

    “WE, “THEY,” or “US”?

I supposse one could say it’s just words… but I fail to see just how “black anger” is being healed here Mr. Obama?

Further, weather you ever stood up and said, “You know (despite the fact that I need your 8,000 votes localy) i
gottah disagree with this divisive mindset and try to make a ‘change’ in this communities destructive biggoted
    enviorment.”WE” must move forward.”

Sorry, even without Reverend Wrights vedio exposures, that we could ‘watch in Loops and Loops’, the basic foundation
of this churchs teachings is not ‘unity’, and there simply is no way you can talk away another “boneheaded mistake”
like the Rezko “budship”, while continuing to pronounce your wonderous ‘judgement’ qualities and decision making
    abilities.

Who benifits from this type of teaching/preahing? Perhaps The Wrights, the Sharptons,’ the Jesse Jacksons,…See The TUCC’s newest requests for additional donations…
Perhaps as Booker T would point out, and did:

My Larger Education, Being Chapters from My Experience (1911)

There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do do not want to lose their jobs.
Ch. V: The Intellectuals and the Boston Mob
I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as
long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through
which to make themselves prominent before the public.

    ****

It is certainly no wonder at all that Michelle Obama is so surprized by the success of her husband when they both
have been indoctrinated to believe that they have been victimized by the white establishment. Even Obama stated he
was surprized to be where he was. But let Bill Clinton call it a fairy Tale and now it’s a racial slur.

The race card has been played many times by Obama, he just isn’t called on it is all.

Obama’s own repeated words (just words?) of …
“THEY said…WE couldn’t do it”, shouted ‘race’ content, and a Thank you to Pokey and Ray-Ray whom Obama called
upon to get out and vote.

    “THEY

  49. greybeard

continued:: (hum looks like it won’t let me post the balance of this,,,)

“THEY <– ceratinly doesn’t mean Republicans, and “WE” <– absolutely didn’t mean “Democrats”.

Perhaps “They” are the “rich white people” learned at the pulpit of a Wright maddrassa of hate speechs and
    division?

When you don’t agree with the church- you leave that church- you have a choice. When you agree with the views and
principles of a church, you join it.

You certainly couldn’t get me to join Davis Duke’s Party just because I lived there and they were white people.

    Obama made a choice.

Obama says “The anger is real…”

well it’s clear that if one injects anger and resentment into it’s congregation one certainly isn’t ‘moving forward’
or advancing “racial stalemate” and “unity”.

Obviously the ‘white’ voters didn’t see a racial divide. “They” believed in ‘change.’
I believe most believed the message was a change in “Politics as usual”, actually, and not in a skin color change of
the person in the white house.
Whites didn’t Consciously see Obama as a ‘black man’. They think they saw a man of integrity, honesty, a gentleman of America and it’s values in his eloquent untiy speechs.
That is, previous to his apologetic understanding of what appears to be the years of whites resentment and blacks
    anger.

It wasn’t really clear what Obama ment by white resentment or what caused it. He alluded to affirmitive action
(rather than “reverse discrimination”) because they feel blacks are often given an unfair advantage.

“When they are told to bus their children to a school across town, when they hear that an African-American is
getting an advantage in landing a good job or a spot in a good college because of an injustice that they themselves
never committed, when they’re told that their fears about crime in urban neighborhoods are somehow prejudiced,
resentment builds over time,” he said.

Balancing that white vote you need to keep, eh?

Reverse , Forward, Nuetral, static –Discrimination is Discrimination.

Mr. Obama - I don’t “FEEL” that there has been an unfair advantage - as if it never existed.

I have been discriminated against. I know lots of people who have that are white.
Did i go join the KKK? Did i go out and INVENT a white liberation theology to gather together angry resentful white
people with a 12 point white separtists Pledge of Alligence, selling White Power Books, while unapologeticaly
    damning black America?

How do I qualify such a discrimination charge? And, How should I behave?

Should I tell you that I never whined nor complained to my family, friends, about the days when i’d come home after
another day of applying for an Advertized opening but being told I didn’t qualify for another great job opening
because “We are only excepting minority applications?”

I could be a retired Fireman but they wouldn’t except me because of my skin color.

I could have been a janitor for the County with great PERS but I couldn’t qualify.

Let me clarify…As years went on and City County State and Indivisuals discovered that their was no penalty
whatsoever for this blatant discrimination, they would come right out and tell you …”Sorry, You’re the wrong
    color. Next.”

Or of the day the Union man came to me and said to pak my tools up because they had to have a woman on the job and I was the last one called out and I had to go home?
    Quotas.
Should i explain the worry and struggle? The nights my wife cried? That after sitting in a computer for a month not
being called for my turn I had to give up my apprenticeship and go find a different paying job.
I Never quite had the future or retirement opportunity that I had trained for after that.
Will my great great great great greaaaaaaa -t grandchildren be suffering and complaining about how i was treated 150
    years from now?
    Come on.
I Didn’t have the time or the money then to goto college. I was also the wrong color for the Free education being
delved out; and I wasn’t the correct race to qualify for a college loan either… but since, at that time, a college
requiremnet was NOT a job qualification needed on a job application for who was the best applicant anyway - college
was not a step forward, but a waste of effort, money and time.

I knew people college educated - they weren’t getting the jobs either. Some of them were right next to me in a
Vocational night school that we paid for to try to figure out what to do next with our limitations. Although I did
great in the school, the first day i was hired I burned down a truck in my first welding job- so I moved on.

    Quickly.

How about the time I am in a DMV line, Oh 30 years ago, and I note that the black person just ahead of me missed 4
and passed, and the Vietnamesse ahead of him missed 5 and passed - but when i got to the window I failed with 3
    wrong answers…

Stuff happens - you complain- and move onward. Next time I took the test I missed one. It might have been because i
was still jittery from being sideswiped by a Vietnamese in the parking lot… but that might not be a message
understood by the bell Curvers as humorous.
We all have ‘a story’ Mr. Obama.

Should i teach hatred anger and resentment in my home, which my child has never heard, and petrepate another
    generation of those traits?
Should i find some white-centrist Sunday morning seggregatted hour to take my family too, mr. Obama?

Or should I make sure that one way or another my child can have it better, and hopefully easier, while teaching a
determination of “it can be done” even when the choices seem less than obtainable by showing by example?

Understand discrimination? Yes i do. Do i feel for anyone who has suffered thru it? Yes i do. Have I personaly
ACTUALLY lived DURING a period of it? Yes i have.

Was it as terrible for me as for the less determined? Probably not, as I moved to ‘change’ my circumstances and
choose not to wallow in self pity and anger in a time when ‘my skin color’ was subject to disqualification.

Resentment? I am long over it.

Who hangs on to bad memories of poor prejudicial treatment of 20-30 years ago?

It’s certainly not healthy or helpful.

I’ll tell you what I am after seeing all of this. I am disappointed.

If only any of the sacrifices, and long years of struggle, perhaps even to redefine idenities, to correct the idiots
of long agos bad deeds, showed a positive sign now, it would have been worth it.

Reverend Wrights Church, it’s ideology, it’s hatred for this Country, the exposure that this goes on everywhere,
sets me back on my heels.

From the dinner table at home, your teachers, weather they be, Marxist Professors, to Racist Pastors, who you learn
from, forms your character and perhaps your destiny.

Obama is right about one thing though. I and others are sick and tired of the race card and the complaining about
something that occurred 140-50 years ago that we had nothing whatsoever to do with. Jim crow? Nothing to do with.
Lynchings? Nothing to do with. segregation? Nothing to do with it. Prejudice? Not in my house.

You want to have a Conversation?
    GET OVER IT!

How can Obama speak of understanding white resentment (his words) when in his book not only does he state that he
resents his mother’s race, (white) and how he stayed far away from whites to avoid being mistaken as a sellout? He
also brags about the ‘friends he kept ‘close’ to him of choice.

from Obama’s book, ” DREAMS FROM MY FATHER:A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE” and his relationship to unity; or a

perception of selling out to ‘whites’:

excerpt: “To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black
students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock
    performance poets.”

Thus, choosing friends carefully was another “boneheaded” display of Obamas great judgement process of belonging
    ‘outside the race he resented’.

Obama makes no excuses for his choice of friends and mentor. AND…

Obama makes no references to where, or when, or that, he had a great revelation and changed his preferences. Perhaps we have to wait for a NEW and improved Book.

You won’t find his Books at the UTCC anymore tho - they too have been removed.

Obama seems to understand that white society has not been ’static’ while this Reverend Wright “flap” ( as Obama
calls it) and his church has.

BUT he can no more disown Reverend Wright then he can the black Community…this community being taught to separate itself from whites into a more perfect union of self determination through Black Power and Alegience based on James Cone’s Principles of hatred.

How does Obama propose to “change” that? Or does Obama propose to ‘change’ it at all? Does Obama expect others to integrate ‘understanding’ through continued ‘guilt trips’ and condone silently this black anger that is
contributing to it’s own ’servitude’ of self destructive enslavement to it’s angry hate spewing Leaders?.

Obamas explantion of not leaving the church is that Reverend Wright has retired, and so this is a moot issue.
No. No it does not close the issue or change the basis of the foundation of the churchs edict and message to not
‘get past the issue of race religion and region’ or time and engulf itself, and selfs, in past history and victimization.

Although many decades in evolving, white’s certainly have moved forward in unifiying America as Americans, and not
    seeing color.
(YES there are some of course who don’;t fit this description and certainly they have their own mentors keeping
them informed and motivated - and if one of them ever runs for an office i won’t stand in a white line to get them
    in office)
Personaly i know of NOONE who is racist. It simply is not a matter of conversation or philosophy. The only time i
have ever heard this “N” word, at least in last 30 years, it has come out of an African-American mouth. Continously.

In what now is reported as thousands of communities like Reverend Wrights it appears that it is these types of
“teaching grounds” that have remained ’static’, embroiled in victimization, separitism, anger and hatred.

Michell’s statement of suddenly being proud of America for the first time in her life is also a revelation of her
programming. Like coming out of a stupor of 20 years of being programmed to condem and dam America, she realized
that Obama’s success was a ‘unity’ of the ‘changed’ and colorless vision, of and , by Americans who saw him too as
    such.

Maybe she’ll write a new thesis.

What an illussionist art our Obama.

…”The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. . . .”

This is some ’sort of’ christianity that Obama worships??

    This is sad.

Then we hear on telivision from others…what’s the big deal? This happens in lots of black churches…

    You’re kidding?

How can people move forward if they are preaching and teaching their children to be angry and promoting another
    generation of hatred and divide?

How can Obama expose his own children to this abuse?

This man shouldn’t even be a Senator.

His voting record of “PRESENT” has kept him, and his views, an obscure chamelion.

He’s been paid as a Senator for 14 months of campaigning while never even having to do his job.

He’s in charge of the Afghan Committee - and he campaigns that we should be there and not in Iraq- YET he has NEVER even called a meeting.

His lies continue to accumilate. (Hilary ain;t any better - doh i mispoke- i was sleepy)

His Honesty is out the door.

Senator Obama’s fall, should it occur, has set back 30 years of progress with his own deception and the anger it
    will generate.

Senator OBAMA’S triumph, should he succeed, has prepetrated a fraudulent Image and a delegate blackmail.

Obama has created division because of what and who he has turned out to Actually be.

Senator Obama has failed the message of ‘Hope.’

What is written here appears to be just the tip of an iceberg. What lies below the surface of this face of Barack
Obama we have been shown; or more implicitly the face we haven’t been shown?

There simply is No way this man should EVER become President of our United States of America.

To do so would be the ultimate “Conscience of a Hoax” upon us all.

    God Bless America!

Wow!! I applaud you greybeard….standing ovation.

Greybeard, Obama’s speech has been widely acclaimed to be a “brilliant” statement on race in America–right up there with “I Have a Dream”, an opinion which I and most others here think is preposterous. But if what you have written was to be delivered as a speech as a rebuttal, its honesty and depth of perception into what exactly is the situation with this church, this ideology, this candidate, it would so outshine Obama’s pitiful attempt that it could awaken the sleeping and deliberately stupid giant that has been so indoctrinated by Bush hatred and so mesmerized by delusions and false promises of change, to the reality of life in the real world where the sun is still shining with some intermittent clouds along the way of course but everyday is a new opportunity to move on and make the best of the life that God has given them. Well maybe it wouldn’t but it should and I am praying for such a day. Thank you for stating this all so clearly. I’m putting your “speech” in a special file so that I can keep it forever and make reference to it if the opportunity arises.

  52. greybeard

    Hiya
    Well Thank you.

It started off as a FYI note, and moved beyond expose’ too Holy mackrel this is more than just fishy.

A speech- hummmm- i don’t know. It seemed to go from research to “yer kidding!?!”; from gathering want to Know Information, to exposing need to know information, which there is lots more of, while trying to ask and answer some questions derived from the obvious; I usually try to stay humourous about day to day things (like: …His lies continue to accumilate. (Hilary ain’t any better - doh, i mispoke- i was sleepy - pssssst, Hilary, step away from the football ))

but, Feel free to reference or paste it, or portions, anywhere.

I’m working out a list of Obama’s spoken public lies too (like: I’m a Law Professor at - sorry, he isn’t)
    but have got sidetracked.

a snippet of what I am working on…

    “The Audacity of Chance”

Obama’s Plagerism, and pretty words combined, put an idea in my head, that if a man could be caught once borrowing

other’s ‘words’ were there other words that he has ripped off that not just shows and empty suit, but a suit’s

    tailored character.
    The man likes to borrow.
I mean the senator even took the words “audacity of hope” from his Reverend Wright to use for the Title of his Book.

When in doubt, look for the patterns. The reflections…

    Who is Obama.
What do you read? What interests your study habits?
What are the chances that what you regurgitate is what you have ingested?
REV. WRIGHT: have you read james Cone???

Well, it seems to me if we are what we eat then Obams repetions will show what he has read. Perhaps what he has read shows an exposed message. Is this eloquence his own? Who recognizes his words and their message when they hear them spoke?

Extensive reading myself, and searching of Obamas words, ‘just words’, seems to have a precise X on a map. Follow
the corindinates and see where one lands.

After looking at some of the words Obama has used attribbuted to him as “quotes” of Obama, one of the first lines to
jump out at me was: poverty of ambition

Obama:…(1)”We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition…” Everyone should try to realize their full
    potential.”

Who actually said these words (2)”…poverty of ambition which made them set their sites to low.”
Ernest Bevin: Minsiter of labour - Socialist -a notorious anti-Semitic canard of the 1920s; adhering to the policy
of returning Jewish Holocaust survivors who tried to enter Palestine back to the Displaced Persons camps in Europe.

    Obama:…(3)

  53. Sojourner

Just curious, where did Barack get his first name from? Is he named after someone?

    -S

  54. JohnMG

Sojourner; ….”where did Barack get his first name from? Is he named after someone?……”

He was named after his father, the one Pastor Manning refered to as a “black man in heat, chasin’ after a trashy white woman”. It’s where he got his middle name (Hussein) from, also.

  55. wardmama4

Great work greybeard and the point you make is better than any He Who Cannot Be Named (or Barry) - is that We must do the work, the research, the investigation - as the dnc propaganda machine is not going to do it for us. At all. Ever.

Not only does Barry ‘borrow’ his phrases in his ‘great speeches,’ it seems as the msm can’t even be bothered to point out that he keeps ‘borrowing’ his (usually only) key points from someone else. Perhaps that is because - as you so keenly pointed out - the msm does not want us to know exactly who these people are and what they stand for.

    Good job.

  56. greybeard

Thank you - am still working (researching several areas) of ‘barry” :)

I hope its not frowned on here to post a link to a website i created last night to help spread more volume of obamaNation information to be captured by google’s word search’ for obama .

    http://obamanation.sampasite.com/
