The Muslim Brotherhood – Translated

From the courageous folks at Palestinian Media Watch:

Essam El-Erian, spokesperson for Egypt’s main opposition group the Muslim Brotherhood, speaks during a news conference in Cairo February 6, 2011.

The Muslim Brotherhood – in its own words

PMW translation of "Jihad is the way" by Mustafa Mashhur, Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, 1996-2002

by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

One of the results of the turmoil in Egypt is the rise in influence of the Muslim Brotherhood. In order to understand the implications, Palestinian Media Watch has translated the book Jihad is the way by Mustafa Mashhur, who was the official leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt 1996-2002. The book is the fifth volume of his full work called The Laws of Da’wa (Islamic missionary activity).

In his book, Jihad is the way, Mashhur explains the fundamental concepts of the Muslim Brotherhood ideology. Mashhur’s teachings encompass subjects such as the Muslim Brotherhood’s goal of establishing an Islamic state, world domination under Islam, the public and personal religious duty of military Jihad, and the warning not to rush to Jihad until it is prepared and timed for maximum benefit. PMW has selected the following quotes from Jihad is the way to illustrate central ideas of Muslim Brotherhood ideology. PMW’s translation of the book follows below.

National goal: Islamic world domination

– "…the Islamic Ummah [nation]… can regain its power and be liberated and assume its rightful position which was intended by Allah, as the most exalted nation among men , as the leaders of humanity…"
– "…know your status, and believe firmly that you are the masters of the world, even if your enemies desire your degradation…"
– "It should be known that Jihad and preparation towards Jihad are not only for the purpose of fending-off assaults and attacks of Allah’s enemies from Muslims, but are also for the purpose of realizing the great task of establishing an Islamic state and strengthening the religion and spreading it around the world…"
– "…Jihad for Allah is not limited to the specific region of the Islamic countries, since the Muslim homeland is one and is not divided, and the banner of Jihad has already been raised in some of its parts, and it shall continue to be raised, with the help of Allah, until every inch of the land of Islam will be liberated, the State of Islam will be established,…"

Means: Jihad – a mandatory religious duty

-"Then comes the power of arms and weapons,… and this is the role of Jihad."
– "Jihad is a religious public duty… incumbent upon the Islamic nation, and is a personal duty to fend off the infidels’ attack on the nation…"
"And the youth should know that the problems of the Islamic world, such as Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea, or the Philippines, are not issues of territories and nations, but of faith and religion. They are problems of Islam and all Muslims, and their resolution cannot be negotiated and bargained by recognizing the enemy’s right to the Islamic land he stole, therefore, there is no other option but Jihad for Allah, and this is why Jihad is the way."
– "The symbol of the [Muslim] Brotherhood is the book of Allah [the Quran] between two swords. The swords symbolize Jihad and the force that protects the truth represented in Allah’s book."
– "…that is, go out to battle, oh believers, young and old, by foot or with animal, under all circumstances and conditions…"

Timing: Don’t rush, prepare carefully for Jihad

– "… despite this, the [Muslim] Brotherhood is not rushed by youth’s enthusiasm into immature and unplanned action which will not alter the bad reality and may even harm the Islamic activity, and will benefit the people of falsehood…"
– "… one should know that it is not necessary that the Muslims will repel every attack or damage caused by the enemies of Allah immediately, but [only] when ability and the circumstances are fit to it."
– "Prepare yourself and train in the art of warfare, and embrace the causes of power. You must learn the ways and manners and laws of war. You must learn them and embrace them and adhere to them, so that your Jihad will be the one accepted by Allah."
– "… there exists an unavoidable personal duty for every Muslim to equip himself and prepare and gear-up towards Jihad…"

Personal goal: Aspire to Shahada – Death for Allah

"Allah is our goal, the Prophet is our leader, the Quran is our constitution, the Jihad is our way, and the Death for Allah is our most exalted wish."
– "The Jihad is our way and death for Allah is our most lofty wish", this is the call which we have always called,… Many of our beloved ones have already achieved this wish,… We ask Allah to accept all of them,… and may He join us with them, …"

Jihad against Israel:

"Honorable brothers have achieved Shahada (Martyrdom) on the soil of beloved Palestine, during the years 47′ and 48′, [while] in their Jihad against the criminal, thieving, gangs of Zion. The Imam and Shahid (Martyr) Hassan Al-Banna is considered as a Shahid (Martyr) of Palestine, even if he was not killed on its soil."

The translation of this work continues on at the link. Though this should not be news to anyone who has been paying even the slightest attention to Egypt and the rest of the Middle East.

Even so, you would think that Jimmy Carter would be appalled.

But there are none so blind as those who want to destroy Western Civilization and who are willing to ally with anyone to do so.

B-b-but, it’s the religion of peace.

I wish I had a list of all the good things Duh-bama had to say about muslims. I’m sure it’s quite lengthy and 100% disputable.

  2. River0 says:

The Muslim Brotherhood is moderate only when they run out of bombs and ammunition. They trained all of our worst enemies. But our media is so deluded that they deny it openly. Glenn Beck skinned them alive last night on his show.

Meanwhile, Chris Matthews called Newt Gingrich a “mortal enemy to our civilization” after Newt called the MB a mortal enemy to our civilization:

“Death for Allah is our most exalted wish”

I’m sure some of our forces can make their wish come true. Like they say the only good Mooselimb is a —- ———. I’ll let you fill in the blanks.

I wonder how the lame stream media would react if they get their wish and the Jihadis were to take over. Do you think they’d be able to print the crap they print now? I don’t think so although I’d be willing to bet a whole gaggle of them would become converts post haste. And what about the female idiots like Katie Curic, I wonder how she’d like doing the nightly news in a burka.

Like Pro has stipulated, the muslim violence and the socialists in this nation walk hand-in-hand. At least for now. The idea, I suppose is to let the violent muslims do the heavy lifting all the while as the socialists both make it easier for them to do so and simultaneously build their own strength.

Then, once the time is right, they (the socialists) come into power and declare themselves the only salvation from the violent muslims. And, again as Pro has stated, their days then become number and the socialists ride the wave of success for “eliminating” the radical muslims, or all muslims for that matter.

But then, not taken into account, once again, is the law of unintended consequences; All their plans backfire or undermine their real intentions. Though they have been successful in some areas as regards forwarding their statist agenda, much of what they do or try to do ends up in some abysmal failure. AmTrak, EPA, DOE, etc., etc. Their track record reads like “Casey At The Bat” with no disrespect to Ernest Thayer. But the downside to their efforts is always expensive in time, money and lives.

I still think they have diseased minds and there is no cure.

What about about all that bit about jihad being misunderstood, a peaceful movement dedicated to personal internal struggle?

    John Brennan, Obama’s Counterterrorism Advisor:

“Nor do we describe our enemy as ‘jihadists’ or ‘Islamists’ because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one’s community”

Dalia Mogahed, Obama’s advisor on Muslim affairs:

“Sharia is not well understood and Islam as a faith is not well understood.” She also called Sharia “gender justice.”

From the Investigative Project on terrorism: “During an October 2009 television interview in Great Britain, Mogahed joined a representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT) in touting the purported benefits of sharia to women. HT is an extreme fundamentalist movement that seeks to establish a global Islamic state and expresses support for terrorism.”

The snakes are in the house, it seems.

    • wardmama4 says:

How any woman raised in America with an Engineering Degree and an MBA – can call Sharia ‘gender justice’ with a straight face – simply proves that radical extremist terrorists who happen to be islamic – are working within the US to destroy it – as readily as those outside.

We have met the enemy and (s)he is us.

And it is going to get us killed.

  5. canary says:

British Prime Minister David Cameron nailed the problem on the head. Even the Muslim Youth movement (their a step up, not calling themselves “the muslims youth brotherhood”, who want credit for the growing protests in Egypt, and Yemen where now the number of reported terrorists that were let out of prison is in the thousands & thousands. I recall the one muslim youth interviewed in Cairo protests had a British accent. Dang these muslims like Obama & his family travel the world all the time.

AP: World UK Prime Minister Blames Multiculturalism for Islamic Extremism
Feb 5 2011 by Scott Baker

MUNICH (AP) – Europe must stamp out intolerance of Western values within its own Muslim communities and far-right groups if it is to defeat the roots of terrorism, British Prime Minister David Cameron said Saturday.

Cameron told the annual Munich Security Conference that European governments have been too tolerant of some sectors of society that publicly oppose democracy or reject equal rights for all.

He said Britain had found that many convicted terrorists had initially been influenced by so-called “nonviolent extremists” – …

“We have even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run counter to our values,” Cameron said. “….

… “We’ve been too cautious, frankly even fearful, to stand up to them,” he said.

Mohammed Shafiq, of the Ramadhan Foundation – a British Muslim youth group – said in a statement following the speech that Cameron has risked angering Muslims by suggesting there was widespread intolerance within the religion….

Nine men were charged last month in Britain over an alleged plan to attack Parliament and the U.S. Embassy in London.

    Obama’s loyality to the immigrate

The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama 2006

pg 261″…what I’ve come to understand is that my mere presence before these newly minted Americans serves notice that they matter, that they are voters critical to my success and full-fledged citizens deserving of respect….

…Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern…In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example….

….I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction…”

“…they are voters critical to my success”

Obama. It’s all about him. Lot of nerve for Obama to tell the President of Egypt to step down. Obama
has ignores the voices of millions and millions of Americans.

It may come to a tea party protest requesting Obama to stop treading on us and step down and of course we know he will do what the people want.

I had a thought, posibly even an epiphany; try this change of definition of the muslim- there are basically two classes of muslim, the front-line media uses the terms moderate and radical to divide the camps but we must understand that the “radicals” are not really radical, to wit: they KNOW what the koran says, they live by it and they are willing to die for it. The “moderates- seem maybe not so much. Now try this- they ALL believe the complete text of the koran because if they profess otherwise they become apostates and in need of correction per koranic directive. The re-definition is this: there are HIGH-PROFILE muslims who know what the koran says, live by it and are willing to die for it. Then there are those muslims who subscribe to all the same beliefs but do little or no real acting on these beliefs ie the LOW-PROFILE muslims- same muslim, same koran, same belief set, but different profile. To paraphrase a western writer when you see high-profile muslims be careful, when you see low-profile muslims….be twice as careful. At least it made sense to me at the time.

    • beautyofreason says:

What you wrote is right. Those so-called moderates all subscribe to the same documents, the Koran and Sunnah, as the basis for the four traditional schools of Shariah law. It’s never JUST the Koran – it’s a legal system too. They are inseparable. Thus they all support the maltreatment of apostates, the second hand status of women, the taxation of non-Muslims and the spread of Islamic governments worldwide. Despite regional differences in the law, they all believe that these doctrines are perfect and any problems that occur are the result of not following the text. They fail to realize that Islam started as intolerant and it will stay that way without reform. And there is the continuing Muslim practice of hating Jewish people, which also originated with the actions of Mohammad (who ordered the beheading of 700 felled Jewish soldiers). One is just as likely to find that anti-Semitic text, Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in “moderate” Jordan as in Saudi Arabia.

So the term moderate is really a misnomer. A Muslim either passionately pursues armed combat against Western countries, or passively supports the Shariah centered legal systems of his country. The few smart people who go against these core doctrines (ex. some of the kids in Iran) are quickly executed, imprisoned, etc for sedition against Allah, which is seen as the will of the state. The rare exception is Turkey, which has been protected from Islamists at gunpoint.
