The Obamas Stage A Church Visit Photo Op

From a worshipful ABC News:

The First Family Goes to Church

Dec 11, 2011

Holding hands and smiling despite the 37 degree temperatures, the President Obama and his family walked across the street from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church today to attend the 11 a.m. service.

Apparently, it was too cold to golf.

Malia wore maroon tights and a pink coat, while Sasha wore purple tights and a black coat. Both girls held their parents’ hands as they crossed Lafayette Park.

Thanks for the fashion review, ABC. By the way, how many 13 year old hold hands with their parents when they cross the street?

Malia and her father chatted for much of the walk to St. John’s.

He was probably explaining to her the importance of trying to understand other religions.

According to pool reports, the Rev. Dr. Luis Leon discussed Obama in his sermon. He told the congregation Americans thought Obama would be a Messiah and change would be immediate.

“People have a tendency to create idols. Society must wait without idols,” he said.

Isn’t it odd that how the minister said the same thing that Obama has been saying in his campaign. That he needs more time to turn the country around, after all the damage that President Bush did.

Though it must have been quite a blow to Mr. Obama’s ego to hear that he is not a Messiah after all.

By the way, "people" didn’t create the idol of Obama. David Axelrod and the Obama campaign did that.

While the Obamas have not claimed a church as their own since moving to Washington 2009, the family has attended several different churches, including, on Easter Sunday this year, Shiloh Baptist Church.

By our reckoning, this is only the fourth time Obama has attended a Sunday church service in more than three and a half years. But we could be wrong. You would think the news media would keep a running count, given how rare it is.

Still, isn’t it amazing how religious Democrats become every four years? It must have something to do with sun spots.

St. John’s Church was founded in 1815 and, since James Madison, every presidents has attended at least one service there.

Another ticket punched.

……Wasn’t Rev. Wright invited? He is also a deeply religious person–Obama spent 20 years listening to him preach, and never heard anything controversial.

Photo-ops at department stores, now a photo-op briskly going to church smiling, wearing their Sunday best. . . how could you kick this family man out of office? –Unlike that cheating Newt Gingrich, or that Wall Streeter Romney!

All the image massaging going on, it’s all planned and rigged, everything, all of it, …..all fake!

See, one of God’s spokeshole’s says he’s not responsible for any of this crap he vowed to fix, either! In fact, God supported Obama’s ‘jobs’ bill that Satan’s little helpers the Republican grinches blocked.

    What crap!

Preacher Leon needs to brush up on his Bible……..and perhaps look overhead for the roof to fall in. God will not be mocked.

Meh, I’ll give him a pass on this one. Whenever a president goes *anywhere*, the whole Secret Service routine plays out in front of and behind him, hundreds of agents, front men, cars, guards, etc…. As I vaguely recall, all of the Presidents since Carter have had to restrict their churchgoing activities to a great extent.

I wish we lived in a world where the President and his family could just drop in at any church without all the security, but we may never be able to return to those days.
