    Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

the Sentinels protecting the Tomb Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 during Hurricane Sandy’s heavy rains and winds.
“The Old Guard has guarded the tomb minute of every day since April 6, 1948. Today will be no exception,”
In Washington, D.C., federal offices will remain closed Monday

the Army’s 3rd Infantry Regiment’s “The Old Guard” guarded the Tomb for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year regardless of the weather,
Typically when it rains, Tomb Sentinels have the option of standing their watch under a green tent located to the side of the Tomb where they usually remain during wreath-laying ceremonies at the tomb.
According to the Society of The Old Guard’s website, Tomb Sentinels “are completely dedicated to their duty of guarding the Tomb. Because of that dedication, the weather does not bother them. In fact, they consider it an honor to stand their watch (we call it “walking the mat”), regardless of the weather. It gets cold, it gets hot – but the Sentinels never budge. And they never allow any feeling of cold or heat to be seen by anyone.”
the Sentinel’s Creed which in part says “Through the years of diligence and praise and the discomfort of the elements, I will walk my tour in humble reverence to the best of my ability.”

On October 26, Mayor of Washington, D.C. Vincent Gray declared a state of emergency, which President Obama signed on October 28.The United States Office of Personnel Management announced federal offices in the Washington, D.C. area would be closed to the public on October 29–and the closing of the federal government.

Documentary – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwP1W4aWZEQ – No greater love hath a man that he lay down his life for his brother, the Son of God tells us.

When I ran my mileage in the Atlanta area, I ran at Kennesaw National Battlefield Memorial Park. At Kennesaw Confederates made a last desperate stand against Sherman’s March to the Sea – and his scorched earth policy of utterly laying waste the heart of the South. I had kin at Kennesaw. Men of Johnston’s Cleburne and Cheatem’s Divisions faced overwhelming superiority in numbers and material from Newton’s 2nd Div, 4th Army Corps and Davis’ Division (2nd Div., 14th Army Corps). I have kin scattered across Memorials, laid in the ground.

You can see where they fought here – http://www.360cities.net/image/the-illinois-monument-at-cheatham-hill-in-kennesaw-mountain-battlefield-park#237.22,0.00,110.0

The Confederates fought barefoot, without provisions, food or water. Held out under appalling odds and conditions. In revetments they fought hand to hand. And you must remember – and this is why I mention this on Memorial Day weekend –

“I love the Union and the Constitution, but I would rather leave the Union with the Constitution than remain in the Union without it.”
      Confederate President Jefferson Davis

“The cause of the South was the cause of constitutional government, the cause of government regulated by law, and the cause of honesty and fidelity in public servants. No nobler cause did man ever fight for!”
Rep. Benjamin Franklin Grady-Duplin Co. NC 1899

“I loved the old government in 1861. I loved the old Constitution yet. I think it is the best government in the world, if administered as it was before the war. I do not hate it; I am opposing now only the radical revolutionists who are trying to destroy it. I believe that party to be composed, as I know it is in Tennessee, of the worst men on Gods earth – men who would hesitate at no crime, and who have only one object in view – to enrich themselves.”
Nathan Bedford Forrest, in an interview shortly after the war

“When the South raised its sword against the Union’s Flag, it was in defense of the Union’s Constitution.”
      Confederate General John B. Gordon

“If they (the North) prevail, the whole character of the Government will be changed, and instead of a federal republic, the common agent of sovereign and independent States, we shall have a central despotism, with the notion of States forever abolished, deriving its powers from the will, and shaping its policy according to the wishes, of a numerical majority of the people; we shall have, in other words, a supreme, irresponsible democracy. The Government does not now recognize itself as an ordinance of God, and when all the checks and balances of the Constitution are gone, we may easily figure to ourselves the career and the destiny of this godless monster of democratic absolutism. The progress of regulated liberty on this continent will be arrested, anarchy will soon succeed, and the end will be a military despotism, which preserves order by the sacrifice of the last vestige of liberty.

They are now fighting the battle of despotism. They have put their Constitution under their feet; they have annulled its most sacred provisions; The future fortunes of our children, and of this continent, would then be determined by a tyranny which has no parallel in history.”
Dr. James Henly Thornwell of South Carolina, in Our Danger and our Duty, 1862

      Note on the Gettysburg Address

      by H.L. Mencken

The Gettysburg speech was at once the shortest and the most famous oration in American history…the highest emotion reduced to a few poetical phrases. Lincoln himself never even remotely approached it. It is genuinely stupendous. But let us not forget that it is poetry, not logic; beauty, not sense. Think of the argument in it. Put it into the cold words of everyday. The doctrine is simply this: that the Union soldiers who died at Gettysburg sacrificed their lives to the cause of self-determination – that government of the people, by the people, for the people, should not perish from the earth. It is difficult to imagine anything more untrue. The Union soldiers in the battle actually fought against self-determination; it was the Confederates who fought for the right of their people to govern themselves.

“Why doesn’t the Confederacy just fade away? Is it because we are irresistibly fascinated by catastrophic loss? Or is it something else? Is it because what the Confederacy represents is to this day the greatest conservative resistance to unconstitutional federal authority in American history?”
      Professor David Blight

      – I direct all S&L’rs attention to Washington DC as it has been since. Even as, with all my heart I honor what the Tomb represents and honor the Citizen Soldiers unto whom Memorial Day is dedicated, I remind us all our founding organic documents have indeed been trampled under foot by that power which is not part of the states United, but is ten square miles unto itself for its own purposes. An unrestrained democracy.

You know where the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is. You know it is built on hallowed ground, land taken from Robert E Lee as spoils of war who said “… we fight to preserve the Constitution as it was written …” A man who openly declared he fought to preserve the Constitution declared an enemy of the state. His lands taken and turned into what it is today.

You know where the Tomb is, but I know where the Grave of the Unknown Confederate Soldier lies (and not the one you can Google). I daresay not that many do. It is in Kennesaw, down Cheatem Hill to the north and beyond that I will not say. It well off any trail or track. No Park Service signs. No wheelchair accessible ramps. No blind and deaf guided walks. It is deep in the woods.

A grave in the earth, a rounded mound of red dirt protected by a small fence of sticks woven together. A simple slab of wood for a headstone. Carved by hand into the aged, weathered wood is “Here Lies A Loyal Son Of The South Known But To God”. No pomp happens here. No grand arena. No marches, no parades. No honors rendered. No eternal Watch stands guard.

Every week someone appears quietly, laying fresh flowers upon the grave. Nothing could be more fitting. Honorable. Loyal.

Men and women of America have fought died and gone down into History for this Nation. It is more than fitting we honor our dead. That we honor our living. That we honor Service, Honor, Duty, Loyalty, Courage and above all, Fidelity. But I say to you here, among friends and fellow Believers in the truth and reality represented by the Declaration, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that we – you and I – are faced with Darkness again. That ‘thing’ which seeks to extinguish freedom has us in its sights.

Watch your Six. Be aware. Honor the Almighty God of All. We happy few are what stands between the Light which is America and the extinguishing of light.

“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things were only hoped for.”

  4. Mithrandir says:

    Boy Scouts to Accept Gays
    (Stage 1 Complete)

As you know, liberalism successfully completed Stage 1 of their corruption of the Boy Scouts by intimidating their donor base into withholding support, causing the scouts to accept gay scouts, but not gay leaders.

NOW THE CEMENT HAS BEEN CAST AND DRIED because it’s only a matter of time before the argument is made, (and in some articles it has already been made) that adult leadership should be next.
“I earned my Eagle Scout as a homosexual. Why am I suddenly not qualified to be an adult leader? Who is more qualified than an Eagle Scout?”
“Why is it ok to accept me as an 18 year old high school Eagle Scout, but after I finish my scouting, I am suddenly kicked out an not wanted?”
“I am turning in my badges and Eagle Scout UNTIL they end their discrimination!”

Blah blah blah! You can hear it now, and anticipate it. Liberals are very patient. They will wait and calmly erode whatever it is that needs eroding. They will attack it continuously from any and every angle to weaken it.

However it also is to be noted that CONSERVATIVES had ample opportunity to make their case both financially, and intellectually to preserve the last institution in America uncorrupted by homosexuality. And they chose to sit on their hands and watch it fail.
It should have been obvious in the last, oh, 15 years or so that the Boy Scouts have been on their target with intimidation from public schools, homosexuals, politicians, and other activists. Conservatives could have strengthened the leadership, not to BED-WET at the first sign of opposition.
They could have infused money so that they were not dependent upon the whims of bed-wetting donors.
They could have prepared for the day to split and separate knowing full well that wedge politics would take over and Conservative scouts would eventually need their own group, along with the trademark name to continue on. Build up the immune system for the eventual P.R. fight. Meanwhile BLACK MALE Morehouse College, that gets federal funds, can keep out whites, women, latinos, and gays goes uncontested.

    • GetBackJack says:

When Wayne Perry and 1,400 member National Boy Scout leaders put … Morality … to a Vote … the battle was lost. Let me be clear … they put to a vote … morality

The soul of SCOUTING is lost.

    • Mithrandir says:

Sexuality shouldn’t even BE an issue in the scouts, since, traditionally, NONE of them are married, and (wink wink) shouldn’t be engaging in sexual activity, so to say that some of the members are accepted because they chose to engage in their sexual activity, or are at least making it an issue, is to ruin the scouts. Now there is a seed planted, a division of gays vs. straights, of leaders who disapprove of gay scouts and then whether they should be dismissed as being intolerant. Now some scouts will be gay, then come out and say, “See! I fooled you! I was a beloved scout for 10 years, and did a darn good job. I am qualified, and you have no right to kick me out!”
…..And now the hair-pulling, finger-pointing, hurt-feelings bonanza is going to start and tear it all to the ground.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is how liberalism destroys everything it touches. It’s is the reverse hand of Midas. Liberalism is just about seizing power, it’s about that, plus destroying things then moving on to the next object to be destroyed. Ruin Detroit? That’s Ok, move on to Flint. Ruin Chicago? Move on to Rockford! Ruin California? That’s Ok, pick up and move to Colorado and liberalize/destroy that state too. The diseases spreads everywhere.

    • GetBackJack says:

Mith – I’m stealing your phrase … the reverse hand of Midas

    • canary says:

Mithrandir you make the greatest point that is being overlooked.

” Sexuality shouldn’t even BE an issue in the scouts, since, traditionally, NONE of them are married, and (wink wink) shouldn’t be engaging in sexual activity, so to say that some of the members are accepted because they chose to engage in their sexual activity, or are at least making it an issue, is to ruin the scouts.”

It defeats the very purpose of the boy scouts which is training, learning to survive, helping others and wilderness training..

The boy scout badges earned are for “Tying Knots”, “Building a Camp Fire”, “The Buddy System in Staying Warm (displaying two with toes under each others armpits in one sleeping bag)

Are they now going to have a Boy Scout Badges dealing with “Sex”. for minors. “Different Sex positions for hetero-sexual minors”, a badge for “Different Sex positions for homo-sexual minors.”

Can’t these little boys have a hobby and life training without the burden of sex being the topic.

This is perverse for adult men to be camping, bunking, and setting up tents with little boys discussing their adult or young boy lovers as it’s all that’s on their mind when they have Boy Scout meetings.

Soon there will be Boy Scout Badges on “Sex Acts”

What freedoms do these gay Boy Scout leaders want? The freedom to tell a little boy he’s cute and when he’s older he will get plenty of sex offers from women and men.

      Boy Scout leader:

“Tommy you are so cute and have the cutest sexy butt. Work it work it.”

“Tommy in just 4 more years you will be able to date me”

Fact is the signs of pedophiles are they like to work with youth. They appear to be pillars of the community.

The Solution the Boy Scouts need to do to get these “sexually obsessed boys and men”
      their own Division.

For the sake to keep the Boy Scouts purpose as what it’s meant to do is have to Divisions.

A Division for those that want to scout and a Divison for gays so they will feel comfortable.

Just as Arnie wanted separate schools for sexual preferences, just as the 1st lady’s thesis was segregated dorms for comfort and to avoid paranoia trying to read the minds of light skinned people.

Just make two separate Scouts divisions so all are happy.

It’s too good a program to end. The gays should be proud to have their own Boy Scout division, and you know they’d absolutely love it. Sitting by the campfire discussing homosexuality and telling each other about other little boys in their 6th grade class.
If a boy scout learns he’s gay, he can join the other one.

Reuters: Ukraine’s First Gay March Held under police protection

      May 25 2013

(Reuters) – About 100 Ukrainian gay rights activists held the country’s first gay rally on Saturday, helped by police who arrested 13 people for trying to break up the march.

The activists walked for about 250 metres (yards) along Victory Avenue…

“Ukraine is not America. Kiev is not Sodom,’ [ ] shouted one anti-gay demonstrator over a loudspeaker.

“This event will go down in the history of Ukraine as one of the key developments in the fight for equal human rights,” said Olena Semenova, one of the organisers[sic],..

Church activist Ioksana Keresten, who protested against the rally, said: “We are trying to protect family values. We want to protect our children from homosexual propaganda. This parade popularises[sic] homosexuality. It can influence our children for their whole life.”

100 out of near 50 Million Ukrainians made history. They should apply for a World Record.

Again, I implore you, read this article, and realize THESE PEOPLE are exactly what is wrong with the Republican Party. The McCaineque attacks, criticisms, media-lapdogging, attention-gettting nonsense does NOTHING. Meanwhile the opportunity to be so supportive of the Tea Party, the Constitution, coalition building etc. BUT NO. Loser Bob Dole thinks the Republicans aren’t deal-making for the sake of pretending things are getting done. Thank you for the 2014 pull-quote you stupid idiot!

“It seems to be almost unreal that we can’t get together on a budget or legislation,” Dole said, comparing today’s Congress unfavorably with the institution in which he served for decades. “We weren’t perfect by a long shot, but at least we got our work done.”

What a consolation prize. “We got shoddy, imperfect work done, but buddy, at least the shoddy/imperfect work was DONE!” –woohoo, drop the balloons and pull out the party hats, Bob Dole performed the hard task of watering down bad legislation that could pass…..wonderful.

Next time, try being average before you interject the word ‘perfect’ in any conversation, especially anything involving “F-quality” government work.

    • GetBackJack says:

Bob … paraphrasing Chevy Chase … you ignorant slut … the citizens of Kansas did not send you to Congress to ‘get the work done’. They sent you to Congress to protect the Constitution in their behalf.

To protect their interests in the Constitution, Bob.

    • Mithrandir says:

Too many politicians have the “we have to do SOMETHING” attitude. Because, that sells their next election cycle. They have to go back to the people and run commercials saying they did SOMETHING. This is why term limits is absolutely the most important issue we will ever face.

Shutting the government down and doing NOTHING for a while equates to “Oppression Takes a Holiday.”

Since they aren’t in the business of protecting our rights, and making sure the states are obeying the Constitution, they all smile, shuffle paper back and forth to each other, throw in some tidbits for each party to champion, and see you again after the election. Why do we even have state governments, when the federal government duplicates and trumps everything they do anyway?

Mr. “10th Amendment in my pocket” Bob Dole sure didn’t live up to that mantra now did he?

I am not a coward, and am not going to sugar goat this issue in a political correct manner.
While it’s a person’s private business their sex lives, these people pushing the gay propaganda is the very thing we need to stop. The molestation and dumbing of children’s mind that will lead not only to young minors 10 and 11 already having sex, but reach a point where 6 year old children won’t even know if someone has sexual relations. We are talking about the DOE as we speak starting gender training in kindergarten. Does this not contradict teaching them what is inappropriate behavior that should immediately report to their parents?

I want you to be honest so I can be objective and see if I portray myself in a poor way that makes people wrongfully think I enjoy horror.

i apologize for not make my self clear.

    • canary says:

Are you sure your not just trying to pacify me because you think I’m twisted and like horror? ;)

Real life is scarier than fiction.

It’s like this. There is a new book in the high school that is full of the “F” word, gore, sex, violence.
It has been banned in other schools. Now I can find a book on books banned that will explain to much sexuality, too much profanity, but the book does not give examples. And some were so common sense remedied in schools by simply pointing out that the school code books does not allow these words or sexual type advances, or lewdness.

There are occasions that my son;’s class would read books out loud taking turns. I asked the teacher what they were teaching having the child cuss in school, and then be told not to cuss in school. She was brilliant and said in some parts of the books she tells the class to read parts to themselves.

I am a mourner and griever. Just a little birdie falling out of nest makes me sad.
I think I’m in a place dealing more with children and their future, and very saddened by this country and world. While I pray for the starving around the world, and peace in the world, I don’t see solutions when John Kerry just gave Palestine 6 Billion dollars when Palestine aids Hezbollah who have now joined Syria. What a hoot that Hezbollah has done a 350% turn-around and decided the rebels are to extreme and they must band with the Syrian govt, when the Syria govt says they are fighting against extremists like Hezbollah.

    • Noyzmakr says:

We live in dangerous, sad and twisted times. Everyone is suspicious of their neighbor. Not really knowing who we can trust or who will call the authorities on us for speaking too harshly to our own children or maybe buying a hunting rifle. Thinking twice before placing political yard signs up for fear of reprisals from unknown passers by. Keeping our opinions to ourselves or at least whispering them to our compadres. Walking cautiously past groups of young blacks for fear of being a random victim of “getting even with whitey” or just a whim to get their “fair share”. The tyranny of one political party and the all too familiar willingness of the other party to sell us out for their own dreams of power. All this would seem normal to 1950’s East Germans but not in America. Yet, here we are.

It’s really sad. We know who’s to blame. The progressives have divided people by race, religion, income, class and every other conceivable difference right down to the shoes and clothing we wear. Such is life in the 21st century. We are surrounded by technology and ignorance. People know how to speak with someone on the other side of the world in seconds but can’t identify their congressman or point out Europe on a map. Teens posting porn of themselves and their classmates on tumblr. Openly praticing gays in the pulpit and hierarchy of our religious and other institutions. Children and adults spend endless hours desensitizing themselves, murdering one computer generated human after another so much so that they hardly flinch, even laugh when others get hurt or die. They watch blood thirsty “zombies” on TV and think being gay is cool. They cheat, drink and “hook up” their way through college where “silver ponytails” corrupt their minds to hate their parents, corporations and capitalism only to move back into mom and dad’s basement wondering why they can’t get a job with a degree in Liberal Arts or Philosophy and Religious Studies or maybe Women’s Studies. These same hipsters think that cow farts and fracking is killing the planet yet they haven’t the foggiest idea how the power is made or where it comes from that’s running all the electronics they are attached to. They choose to murder their children for convienence rather than take the most meager of precautions. I suppose it is inevitable that we will fall just as Rome did. Except our fall will be faster and much bloodier. We are ruled by a minority of the “connected”. Backed by the media and feeding at the trough that is Washinton, DC. Lawyers and losers.

I wonder if the days of Noah were like this. The birth pangs have begun and what’s about to be delivered is wrath. The only thing about all this is that it just reinforces my belief in the Almighty who foretold all of it. I’m just listening for the trump and the call. Come quickly Lord.

McCain, a leading critic of the Obama administration’s policy towards Syria, has been calling for the U.S. to provide lethal aid to opposition forces seeking the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

This is EXACTLY why I didn’t vote for this clown. –exactly. No matter what happens, there is ALWAYS a set of politicians that need to get involved in other people’s business, send our tax dollars and/or soldiers, to help the wrong team that will turn around and thanklessly harm us in return (Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Afghanistan, China, Vietnam, France…..). When do we ever learn? At least Reagan was smart enough to let Iraq and Iran beat the snot out of each other without too much blood/sweat/tears coming from us.

There are 193 member states in the United Nations. Let’s let one of them take point on this issue.

I suppose I might get flamed for this but it was the Reagan administration that installed Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Didn’t take long for him to take vengeance on his opponents in the now famous video of Hussein calling out the names of his enemies and having them taken out back and shot.

The phenomenon of human manipulation is one that seems to so often bite the manipulator in the a$$ every-single-time. From the annals of history, it’s been shown that nothing short of a larger military expulsion of the bad guys ever works very well. Half-measures, measures with good intentions, all those “great ideas” brought about by intellects far superior to mine never seem to account for “what could possibly go wrong?”.

Ran into this a lot in the military with those “positive-thinking/hard-charging” commanders who told me I was very negative and could come up with more ways something wouldn’t or couldn’t work than how they could. Given that I was of much lower rank, I couldn’t come up with, “Well, let me know how it works out when we do it YOUR way”. But of course we WOULD do it their way and when it all fell to s**t, I caught hell. Not because it was my fault but because it was theirs and I was right.

I did once tell my LtCol boss that, “Sir, I really do hate being right all the time”. He was inept anyhow. I had already given up and resigned myself to the knowledge that I wasn’t going to go very far in the military anymore. Politics trumps good sense every—-single—-time.

And here we are again. McLame making his show. Talktalktalktalktalktalktalktalk. Blahblahblahblahblah.

He is no more “mastermind” than a five-year-old with a can of Pixie-Sticks. He’s not particularly creative nor does he have a grasp of the obvious. But, a person who has those qualities would most likely NOT be a politician, least of all a legacy-drag on the US economy, sucking up tax dollars for 30+ years.

Like Mithrander says, one of the clowns who thinks that government is the answer to all problems and that he has to DO SOMETHING.

How about let it explode all on its own and leave the US out of it? I realize no nation lives in a vacuum but….do we really need to get involved in anything (again) where the US will just be blamed (again)?

More evidence Obama knew Al Qaeda was spreading before presidential election

‘Al Qaeda expanding, capable of inflicting mass casualties in US’

Months before US President Barack Obama declared that the al Qaeda was “on a path to defeat”, his aides had been telling Congress that the terrorist network was expanding and was capable of inflicting mass casualties in the US.

In keeping up with these affairs it was no secret. It was people listening to dumb media outlets or not even aware of what is going on.

And as they have been blimps in the main media…in the last week reports are of more Syrian
hacking into US computers. Iran using very sophisticated means and hacking into US (this might be from our highest tech drones (2 of them) that crashed in Iran.

Latest is China has hacked into the US Military and has tons of information from weapons. That was on FOX yesterday.

While, Obama was keying on saying Al Qaeda was on the run before the election, he was doing it as soon as he took office. There were rediculous reports by the high ranking officials in the DOD, US Military officials, etc. that there were only approx 100 Al-Qaeda left in Afghanistan.
Approx 1000 Al Qaeda militants in the world.

After Obama was re-elected out came all the touring of businesses by highest ranking officials with Obama’s okay to warn Al Qaeda would be increasing attacks.

    Economy Hint of the Day.

I have learned that in getting quotes it is better not to be dressed to well, such as wear sweats and you can get better quotes, than if you go in dressed nicely. And ladders have dropped even lower now that summer is here, because no one can afford anyone to do work.
