Late on Wednesday Congress raised the debt ceiling (lending ceiling).

On Thursday the Federal debt crossed the $17 trillion threshold.

$328 billion in new debt was added in one day.

That is over $1,000 for every man, woman, and child in America. In one day.

And Nerobama told us that raising the debt ceiling wouldn’t result in more debt.

Wow. It took him only one day to break that promise.

What a whopper. What a liar.

Now why would the choice for the new Dept of Homeland Security Chief be the guy that ran the drones for Obama. I’m just saying it would be very convenient if an impeachment came up.

    • Noyzmakr says:

It’s just payback, he’s a fundraiser for president ears and knows absolutely nothing about the homeland or security.

    • canary says:

Former DHS chief Napolitano is now being paid $500,000 to run the University of California.

    • canary says:

Noyzmakr, thanks for pointing that out. The newbie is a lawyer. The media is twisting it sound like he was in charge of finding terrorists and droning them, when he really just played a lawyer that defended Obama’s droning.

    • Petronius says:

As general counsel at DoD, Johnson would have been responsible for the legal opinion in which the Pay Our Military Act was interpreted (misinterpreted) to deny survivor benefits to families of service members killed in Afghanistan during the shut-down.

He would also have signed off on the decisions to halt sports broadcasts to the troops, the shut-down of Catholic mass at Kings Bay, and other outrages against the religious freedom of our military personnel.

    • canary says:

Petronius & Noyzmakr, It’s worse. He really disdains our military with the hypocrisy of Obama and Hillary Clinton is releasing security issues.

I wonder what name was hard to pronounce that led to a slangish sounding Jeh. Jeb?

He made all the legal shots of calling Marshall Law on citizens of Boston MA ordering them to lock down in their homes.

The Guardian: AP: Obama to nominate Jeh Johnson as new Homeland Security secretary

Anonymous official: Obama to announce Johnson’s nomination Friday for the position most recently held by Janet Napolitano – Oct 17 2013

He oversaw the escalation of the use of unmanned drone strikes, the revamping of military commissions to try terrorism suspects rather than using civilian courts and the repeal of the military’s ban on openly gay service members.

A senior Obama administration official on Thursday confirmed Johnson’s selection, first reported by The Daily Beast.

The official was not authorized to speak about the nomination on the record and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The official noted that Johnson oversaw the work of more than 10,000 lawyers and was responsible for reviewing every military operation approved by the president and defense secretary.

Johnson led a widespread crackdown on unauthorized leaks in the Defense Department, including warning former Navy Seal Matt Bissonnette that by publishing a book on the raid that killed bin Laden he was in “material breach” of two nondisclosure agreements he signed earlier in his career.

“War must be regarded as a finite, extraordinary and unnatural state of affairs,” Johnson said.

Johnson was part of the team that looked at ways to bring women into combat missions….

According to a bio on the website of his law firm, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, his civil and criminal clients have included Citigroup, Salomon Smith Barney, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Gillette.

1982 graduate of Columbia Law School.

His clients included a tobacco co. but he will enforce ObamaCare to charge smokers double health premiums.

Guess he wasn’t a member of Columbia Law School alumina either or he’d have verified another law graduate to aid him in avoiding lawsuits.

Drudge Report today (October 19) has a number of diatribes
against the Washington Redskins football club, including one
comparing their logo to a Swastika Flag and a Confederate
Naval Jack. My suggestion is to change the logo to a red
potato, as it resembles one anyhoo.

    • Noyzmakr says:

Dr. Krauthammer wants to call them ‘The Skins’. I’m beginning to think he’s been in Washington too long, or maybe Obama suggested that name to him when he met with ‘conservative’ journalists last week. What a joke!

Here are a few suggestions for the new team name:

‘The Over Spenders’ – The emblem will be a $100 bill going down a toilet.

‘The Treasonists’ – The emblem can be a gallows.

Or just go ahead and let there be truth in advertising and call them…
‘The Bloods & Crips’- The emblem being an Uzi.

    • canary says:

If they changed their name to the Washington Savages people would still complain, and they’d have to change other teams using names of violence like Wildcats, Bumble Bees, Cougars.

The only name that should even be considered is the Washington Native Americans.
Then you’d have the Mexicans, Asians, etc. all angry.

  4. captstubby says:

how about “The Seasonally Adjusted “

    • Noyzmakr says:

Their emblem can be a bureaucrat leaning back with her feet up on the desk counting her bonus $$$$.

How about ‘The Spiters’ – the emblem being Nerobama in his choom-gang hat, smoking a joint and giving the American people the middle finger.

    • Noyzmakr says:

That’s an excellent article. It sounds like Mr. Druckenmiller get’s that nerobama is a liar.

My favorite couple of lines in the whole article has to be the following:

One of the great ironies of the Obama presidency is that it has been a disaster for the young people who form the core of his political coalition. High unemployment is paired with exploding debt that they will have to finance whenever they eventually find jobs.

The question is, are they strong enough to allow their wallets to over-rule their indoctrination?

    • Petronius says:

Interesting article. Here is more on the same point––another voice crying in the wilderness:

According to John Williams (Shadow Government Statistics), government spending and the public debt are already beyond the point of containment.

The Federal deficit is about $1 trillion. This is the annual Congressional spending deficit. It is calculated as the difference between (1) the amount of money appropriated for spending by Congress in a given year, and (2) the revenue received by the IRS from all kinds of taxes in that year.

But according to Williams, the GAAP-based deficit is over $6.6 trillion. The GAAP-based deficit includes spending for unfunded liabilities (Social Security, Medicare). It defines how much cash-in-hand is needed annually to cover all spending, including the unfunded liabilities in addition to the amount spent by Congress. Thus last year the US Treasury reported a cash-based deficit of $6.6 trillion.

This amount of spending can never be covered by taxes. So we’ve already run out of road and cans to kick.

In 2010 the total of all US wages, salaries, bonuses, and net income of independent contractors was slightly over $6 trillion.

Since 2010, when that $6 trillion figure was recorded, American incomes have continued to shrink.

So here is where we currently stand:

More than $6.6 trillion in annual Federal cash-based deficit versus less than $6 trillion annually in total American income.

Look at it another way: If the government raised the income tax to 100 percent on everybody, there would not be enough tax revenue to fund the cash-based deficits when Social Security, etc. are included.

What about paying down the debt?

The national debt means the amount of securities issued by the Treasury. It is now over $17 trillion. In addition to this amount there is $126 trillion in unfunded liabilities. That is a total of $143 trillion.

Total national assets (corporations, small businesses, households and individuals) is $105 trillion.

Not enough wealth in the country. Not even close.

In other words, if the government confiscated all the private wealth in the country there would not be enough to pay off the national debt and unfunded liabilities.

It’s fair to characterize the unfunded liabilities as gigantic Ponzi schemes. And every American under age 40 might as well consider himself a serf.

And the fact remains that our rulers have not taken any steps to rein in spending on these programs. They refuse to touch them; Nerobama and the Leftists won’t negotiate them, won’t even talk about them. And so as a practical matter the obligations might as well be considered “mandatory” spending.

Our rulers are aware of this predicament. Yet once again, the rulers have taken no steps to address the sustainability of those big ticket programs or, indeed, the long-term solvency of the US government.

On the contrary, the debt ceiling (lending ceiling) has been increased. Again.

The brutal fact is that none of the Ruling Class care about what happens to the country or to either its old or young people. The American people are just grist for the Ruling Class’ mills.

The only politicians who care are the much maligned Tea Party Republicans.

    • Noyzmakr says:

I think they’ve all just given up on trying to fix the unfixable. They’re just hoping we don’t notice and that they’ll survive the coming collapse. Personally, when it comes, I’m going huntin’.

    • GetBackJack says:

My response to Druckenmiller is don’t start a Movement, There’s already one .. called the Tea Party.

    • canary says:

I like the gun to the head statement in the article. I am furious over the violent talk of the liberals and accusing Republicans of being terrorists.

His latest biggest lie is addressing his new push as “immigration reform” when he means total amnesty. He doesn’t want people paying attention.

Obama has refused to this day to meet with ICE agents, calling them terrorists who terrorize little baby’s, yet he meets with Sheriffs, Union Officials, and bleeping people who are here illegally at the WH. Shame on him.

White House’s statement concerning spying on allies

  6. canary says:

Which races is proper to ask on a form what ethnic follows the question what race.
I mean what ethnicity? I’ve got a mental block and embarrassed because I can’t pronounce “ethnicity”. I always thought it was what “ethnic are you”. Is it only Mexicans who are no longer a race, or is all Spanish and Latinos?
Most of all I need to know what “ethnicity” does one put in the blank after one answers “Caucasian”
under “race”. Plus, do you capitalize the “ethnicity” or “ethnic”, although I think ethnic is no longer correct, and I’m having trouble pronouncing “ethnicity” and it’s embarrassing. It’s a mental block or something.

    • Noyzmakr says:

I’m no scholar so you might want to do a little research, but the way I understand it, my Race is Caucasian as I am considered a ‘white’ man, and my Ethnicity is Welsh because that’s my ancestry or in other words, where my ancestors came from. But, I guess my ethnicity could be American. I don’t really know for sure.

An example being Native Americans / American Indians are a race of peoples known as indigenous peoples, but Lakota, Arapaho, Navajo, Cheyenne and Apache are all separate ethnic groups / tribes within that race. I think……

Don’t feel bad not being able to pronounce some words. I can’t say Obama without going into a cursing fit like someone with Tourette’s syndrome.
