Tony Podesta Firm Stops Lobbying For Egypt

From a non-dot-connecting Politico:

Livingston, Moffett, Podesta Egyptian lobbying contact ended

Three top U.S. lobbyists have ended their lucrative contract representing the Egyptian government, the latest fallout from a Dec. 29 Egyptian raid on U.S and European-backed groups monitoring parliamentary elections there.

Former Reps. Bob Livingston (R-La.) and Toby Moffett (D-Conn.), as well as high-powered Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta, have terminated their lobbying contract with the Egyptian government.

The trio split a $90,000-plus per month lobbying contract to represent Egypt’s interests in Washington.

Notice the order in which the Politico puts these names. Even though Tony Podesta is by far the most influential lobbyist on the list.

Lest we forget, Podesta is the founder and head of the Center For American Progress, which is Obama’s ‘think tank’ and another branch of the Obama campaign.

Is this why Obama supported the ‘Arab Spring’ over our longtime trusted ally, Hosni Mubarak?

Later, the Egyptian embassy in Washington issued a statement, saying it was the Egyptians decision to end the four-year contract, not the lobbyists.

The tipping point for both sides appeats [sic] to have been the no-fly order instituted by Egyptian authorities that has prevented as many as 10 American and Europeans, including the son of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, from leaving Egypt. Other elements of the Egyptian government, not the military, appear responsible for that decision.

But the move angered U.S. officials and the end result is a real risk of damaging what has been a longstanding alliance that is important to both Egypt and the United States in the Mideast.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Islamic takeover of the country is no problem.

And the loss of powerful friends in Washington will further isolate Egypt at a sensitive point.

Perhaps we are paranoid, but it seems to us like Podesta and company are just seizing on another excuse to drive the Egyptian military out of power, and to give the country over to the radical Islamists, who now control 75% of the seats in Egypt’s parliament.

Even this article admits that the military was not behind the decision to prevent LaHood’s kid and others from leaving the country.

Livingston confirmed on Friday night that he, Podesta and Moffett — who set up the PLM Group to handle the Egyptian contract beginning in 2007 — have ended the contract, but the former lawmaker declined to offer any further details

And just look at how relations with Egypt have improved since 2007.

Egypt’s checks are probably bouncing too.

Maybe China could loan Egypt the money and Egypt could pay them off with some of our own t-bills.

      Then again, maybe not.

Has the Secretary of Transportation LaHood’s son Sam & others gotten their trial in Cairo yet.
Lahood is too busy traveling & campaigning for Obama. Lahood says it’s a sensitive subject, while John McCain with no relationship expresses outrage in Egypt detaining Americans.

Secretary of Transportation LaHood who sees himself without a job soon, and may have a large life insurance policy on his Sam his son imprisoned in Egypt.

Why else wouldn’t Obama’s Transportation Czar at least travel to Egypt and aid his son, if not just to visit him. Is the Obama official afraid he would not be able to leave?

Daddy LaHood needs to make this sacrifice for his son Sam, because then the Obama administration
could have reason to stick it to Egypt and release them both. That is just how bad it is with the muslim brotherhood running Egypt and their military running every aspect, store, food, everything, following the orders of muslim extremists who are enforcing women to where veils.

We need to see all the Obummer videos from last Spring where he takes credit for the Arab uprising. Remember when even Bill Kristol (another ‘progressive’ RINO) celebrated Mubarak’s overthrow? This is the time to rub their face in it. Someone notify the GOP.

Obummer is just like the captain of the Italian cruise ship, wrecking the ship of state and jumping into a lifeboat ahead of everyone else.

    • Petronius says:

RiverO : “Obummer is just like the captain of the Italian cruise ship, wrecking the ship of state and jumping into a lifeboat ahead of everyone else.”

That is a very good thumbnail definition for all Liberals in general.
