Toronto School Bans All ‘Hard’ Sports Balls

From Canada’s CBC News:

Toronto school bans hard balls

Nov 16, 2011

Students at an east-end Toronto school are being told to leave their soccer balls — and other hard balls — at home.

The principal of Earl Beatty Public School banned the balls this week after a parent recently suffered a concussion from being hit in the head with a soccer ball.

The principal, Alicia Fernandez, banned hard balls, claiming they’re dangerous. "Kids were coming in complaining of injury, or being scared," she said.

The ban went into effect two weeks ago.

Students can bring sponge or other soft balls to play with, but soccer balls, footballs, baseballs and even tennis balls are not allowed for safety reasons.

Have they issued a fatwa on ‘wiffle’ balls? They are actually hard.

But some parents say the ban is excessive and unfair to children who like to play outside…

Anna Caputo says the school — which has almost 350 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8 as well as a daycare for younger children — has a very small yard and there have been other injuries.

We suspect a lot of children have been injured by pencils over the years. Let’s ban them, too.

When did Canada ever have any balls?

Heh. At least they got the balls to drill their own oil. I’m not sure where that leaves us. Probably not far behind in issuing similar fatwas.

There, now. Was that so hard? So get those veterans who still have a pair to tell your socialist government to cut it the hell out and let your kids and your people be free.

LOL! So by the way, how is that feller that all y’all elected a few years ago, working out?

(are you sure you want to play??? ;-)

We’re actually in violent agreement and I’m very glad of your first post up there. As a veteran, I know very much about the fighting side of Canada and the fierce patriotism. Heck, some of my best friends are Canadian’s eh? But, there was a slightly dishonest point to my post which was to highlight the very things you did. I know it sounds cowardly but I had hoped to get a rebuff.

You did exactly what I hoped and we’re all the better for it. The point being that we in the civilized world are all suffering from this mental disease called liberalism. And you know the answer to your rhetorical question, of course. People like you and me and everyone who comes here to read/post are frustrated and want the hippies and the left-wing crooks to go away. It’s obvious they have never been interested in doing anything in any way but their own way and always for reasons that leave normal people perplexed, angered and frustrated.

But every time some fruit loop lefty gets their way and comes up with a new “banning” of something, I shake my head and die a little inside. They have been chipping away at freedom for decades but there are plenty of people who remember the good part about the 60’s with cheap gas, low rent, not having to pay the DMV a ransom just to register your car, being able to smoke at the beach or in a restaurant, no “rating” codes on movies, etc, etc.

I would hope in Canada, as here, there is still a majority of people who are fed up and who won’t sit there and say, “Well, it’s the law now…what can we do?”. Seriously….not being allowed to play with soccer balls/footballs/baseballs at school? Why, not only is it ridiculous….it, of course, further wussifies kids and teaches them that “sports are bad”. The ongoing mechanism to reshape humanity into an all-female race is just staggering. I am already sick of seeing metrosexuals in their “cute” cars in the city….wearing clothing that their girlfriend picked out for them. I actually stood behind a guy at the gas station who was complaining that he broke a nail on one of their gas pumps. You can only imagine the expression on my face. He did, however see me shaking my head and laughing.

So, in conclusion, I know that there are plenty of people in Canada who are as frustrated as us “down-southers” and maybe someday we’ll close ranks and put liberalism out of business.

      At least, I hope so.

      I feel so used…(sniffle).
OK, so I’m rolling the sleeves back down and putting the brass knuckles back in the desk drawer (next to my eyebrow plucker and makeup kit).

Now it kinda makes sense because I thought I’d read somewhere previously that you were a veteran, and that sort of Yank/Canuck bashing generally (in my experience) doesn’t happen much in military circles -except in friendly rivalry. Glad I didn’t go to automatic hissy fit!

There’s plenty of hollering about the ‘no ball issue’ going on in TO right now. I suspect it’ll get eventually get overturned. I sure hope so -ditto for the nonsense “all y’all” are having foisted on you down there.

Metrosexuals are just one more thing below us on the food chain -just like caribou, turkeys or basset hounds.

      As to this:
I would hope in Canada, as here, there is still a majority of people who are fed up and who won’t sit there and say, “Well, it’s the law now…what can we do?”.
Watch this winter as the Canadian long gun registry is killed by the serving Conservative majority government. And all its records destroyed in order to make it more difficult for a future government to reinstitute it.
That’s the result of a lot of hard work over a long period of time and by a lot of very ordinary people.
Said government is also in the process of declawing the Stalinist ‘Human Rights Commissions.’

If we can roll back this nonsense, then sure as hell you guys can.

(after which, I will graciously allow you to buy me a beer)
