“Truthout” Admits Lying Re Rove Indictment

The "executive director" of the preposterously named anti-America propaganda site Truthout has issued the following pronouncement:

On Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2006, TruthOut ran a story titled, "Karl Rove Indicted on Charges of Perjury, Lying to Investigators." The story stated in part that top Bush aide Karl Rove had earlier that day been indicted on the charges set forth in the story’s title.

The time has now come, however, to issue a partial apology to our readership for this story. While we paid very careful attention to the sourcing on this story, we erred in getting too far out in front of the news-cycle. In moving as quickly as we did, we caused more confusion than clarity. And that was a disservice to our readership and we regret it.

As such, we will be taking the wait-and-see approach for the time being. We will keep you posted.

How hilarious.

As I said at the time, they heard Chris Matthews on Imus say that Rove could be indicted sometime that day (last Friday) and they ran with it.

They had nothing to lose, since they have no credibility. (In fact, nobody outside of the lunatic left has ever heard of them.) And everything to gain by guessing right.

But they didn’t guess right. And they showed themselves for what they are.

Paid liars.

To all those bloggers, forumists and mainstream media (MSM) pundits who thought you were tearing Jason Leopold a new one by ripping into him on his Rove indictment story - think again.

Here’s a fork, a knife and a spoon - the crow has been boiling all week. You can kindly leave a gratuity for Jason by dropping a comment before you tip back and drink the last, tepid, vestige of gruel left in your bowl. For those who were unneccessarily nasty, don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Perhaps Leopold has started talking about himself in the third person. Or perhaps this is just the work of his ardent admirer, fellow lunatic Chris Floyd.

But judging from the site’s content and artwork, it appears Leopold has a major stake in it.
