TV ‘Comedians’ Let Letterman Off Easy

From a relieved Associated Press:

‘SNL’ zings David Letterman’s difficulties

By Frazier Moore, AP Television Writer Sun Oct 4

NEW YORK – Add "Saturday Night Live" to the shows making sport of David Letterman’s difficulties. But in the hands of "SNL," Dave got off pretty easy

On "SNL," "Weekend Update" anchor Seth Meyers dubbed the extortion attempt by a CBS News producer "a stupid human trick."

Meyers added that the would-be blackmailer was threatening to reveal embarrassing details of Letterman’s personal life, then gave a joking example: "After sex, he would always say, ‘Stay tuned for Craig Ferguson.’" …

Leno kicked off his monologue Friday by declaring, "If you came here tonight for sex with a talk show host, you’ve got the wrong studio."

He continued, "The guy that was trying to blackmail Letterman was a producer for the show ’48 Hours.’ It could have been worse: At least he wasn’t producer of ‘To Catch a Predator.’"

Also on NBC, "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon had his own wisecrack: "There’s a new book out called ‘Why Women Have Sex’ that says there are 237 reasons why women have sex. And folks, Letterman knows the top 10."

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel spared Letterman in his Friday monologue.

So did Conan O’Brien on NBC’s "Tonight Show." He also dodged the issue when guest Drew Carey brought it up.

"I would hate to be on opposite Letterman tonight with all that sex stuff going on," Carey said. "That’s got to be tough."

"No comment," O’Brien responded quickly…

Wow. What zingers, huh?

Guess they have to save their sharpest barbs for those evil Republicans.

It’s probably sub-conscious, but to the liberal mind, Letterman bonking staffers is a good thing.

Infidelity undermines the institution of marriage and the nuclear family.

And the family is one of the primary institutions that threatens Big Government, so marriage, whether the liberals want to admit it or not, is considered a bad thing. The support for “rights” for queers is another front in that battle.

The other primary institutions that are under attack by the Statists are: religion, small businesses (but not big business, since it is easy for the government to control a handful of mega-businesses which are themselves controlled by greedy despots), private education, and any adhoc fraternity that coalesces people in opposition to Big Government (like Talk Radio and this web-site).

If you are sceptical about this, consider what happened in the USSR. The commissars knew that their ability to exercise complete and absolute power depended on the destruction of all social frameworks that could challenge the state.

Missing from all the coverage is the incredible tidbit that the suspect in the case AND Letterman have shared a lover — an intern from the show (who is also a former intern from 48 Hours!)

Stephanie Birkitt, 34, another former Letterman intern, allegedly had a sexual relationship with Letterman. She says so anyway — and who would lie about that…

The suspect, Halderman, lived with Birkitt until about a month ago!!!

She actually worked for Letterman as a intern in 1996 and THEN went to intern with 48 Hours!!!

Isnt there a great Bill Clinton or Monica Lewinsky joke in there? Heck it would seem as if CBS around 1998 was much like the White House in 1998 — everyone screwing the interns!!

Aren’t there some great jokes somewhere in that????

As I said to my mom when all of this broke: there has GOT to be a woman at the bottom of it. These things dont just happen.

    Sure enough.

Excu-u-u-u-u-se me but Letterman’s sleeping with women who he employed smacks of abuse. Letterman had a great deal of power over these poor women, if they displeased him, he could have them fired.
Where is the ACLU, where are the women’s rights groups?
    This calls for an investigation!
Oh wait, that only happens when it’s a conservative and Letterman could never be accused of something so vile, something so evil and despicable, as being a conservative!

I don’t watch any of those shows.

Another obstruction from what really matters. I put Lettermans’ sex life right next to that of the Darter Snail.

(it tooo leaves a slime trail behind it)
