US Evacuates Its Embassy In Libya (Losing Obama’s War)

From an unfazed Associated Press:

U.S. evacuates embassy in Libya amid clashes

By ASSOCIATED PRESS | July 26, 2014

WASHINGTON — The United States shuttered its embassy in Libya on Saturday and evacuated its diplomats to neighboring Tunisia under U.S. military escort as fighting intensified between rival militias. Secretary of State John Kerry said "free-wheeling militia violence" prompted the move.

Lest we forget, Libya was Obama’s war and his alone. (If you don’t count the ‘War Hens,’ Valerie Jarrett, Hillary Clinton and Samantha Power.) He didn’t even consult with Congress, much less get their permission. He helped to overthrew an anti-terrorist American ally in his eagerness to Libya to the Muslim terrorists.

American personnel at the Tripoli embassy, which had already been operating with limited staffing, left the capital around dawn and traveled by road to neighboring Tunisia, with U.S. fighter jets and other aircraft providing protection, the State Department said.

They didn’t helicopter them off the roof? That would have made a great photo.

The withdrawal underscored the Obama administration’s concern about the heightened risk to American diplomats abroad, particularly in Libya where memories of the deadly 2012 attack on the U.S. mission in the eastern city of Benghazi are still vivid…

If only they had been concerned about the security of our missions in Libya back on September 11, 2012.

Meanwhile, from CNS News:

Obama Adviser Appears to Blame Gaddafi for Mayhem in Libya

By Susan Jones | July 28, 2014

(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. evacuated its embassy in Tripoli, Libya on Saturday — removing even the Marines who were guarding it — because of "violence and instability in the area," Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told CNN’s "State of the Union" with Candy Crowley on Sunday.

How can that be viewed as anything other than a foreign policy failure, Crowley asked, especially when President Obama helped topple former Libyan dictator Moammar Gaddafi — then left the Libyan people to fend for themselves.

"Well, what Gaddafi left was an empty shell of a government," Rhodes said. "He never really built a state and the institutions of a state. So, you have these militias in place." …

Lest we forget, Ben Rhodes is the brother of David Rhodes, who is the President of CBS News. So they will also spread this preposterous lie. Or ignore the story all together.
