Waters Says: Investigate Racist Tea Party

From The Hill:

Waters: Probe ‘birthers and the teabaggers’ at rallies for racist views

By Michael O’Brien

September 16, 2009

The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views.

"I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed," Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. "I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers."

"What I’m looking for is the very people who carry the signs who are referring to the policies in very, very strange ways like ‘Obamacare’ and ‘Barry Obamacare with Kennedy,’" she said. "What I’ve been interested in is hearing from those people that everybody’s referring to — everybody on the Mall, in the rally."

Tens of thousands of conservative activists took to the National Mall last weekend to protest the Obama administration, specifically its stance on healthcare reform. Examples of incendiary rhetoric touching on racial overtones from some protesters have emerged on blogs in the days since the rally.

"I think it’s not enough for African-Americans to say what they think, what they suspect," Waters said. "I think that if you put the microphones in front of them, if you do the interviews, they’ll tell you what they believe, what they think."

Of course Maxine Waters is crazy. But that won’t stop the Democrats and their lickspittle minions in the media from taking up her idea.

For instance, from the article:

Examples of incendiary rhetoric touching on racial overtones from some protesters have emerged on blogs in the days since the rally.

You’ll notice that The Hill doesn’t provide any examples.

There is no racism in signs that decry ‘Obamacare’ or that say ‘Barry Obamacare with Kennedy.’ (And we still have never seen a photo of this last one.)

Meanwhile, Ms. Waters calls the protesters a term for a revolting homosexual practice, "teabaggers," and our watchdog media doesn’t bat an eye.

And why should they? Since the practice was in fact initiated by our watchdog media.

Still, once again we note how Orwellian our language has become.

For how can it be that having more than 95% of the black population vote for black candidate is NOT called racism?

But when 50% or more of the population (made up of various races and creeds) disagree with him on a policy, that is declared racism?

Right after Waters investigates the Million Man March!

If fighting Fascism makes me a racist, then I’ll wear that label proudly.

    Quick quiz, Maxine dear.
Can you tell me what the Bill of Rights is?
    No, I didn’t think so.

    THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

This one is a little different… Two Different Versions! Two Different Morals!

    OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

    MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a
video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, ‘We shall overcome.’
Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back
of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ants food while the government house
he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders
who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010

Maxime Waters could ruin the gold-plated reputation of the race-baiting industry.

Rev Al, Rev Jesse, Rev Jeremiah may have to take her out.

Never thought I’d say this, but I agree with ole Maxine on this one. As it happened, this rally got very little media attention, especially from the more left wing media outlets (which I guess is 95% of the media outlets). What’d she say? ” I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed”? I think that’s a grand idea! Miz Waters is convinced that they’ll start spewing some racist venom to strengthen her already warped beliefs. On the contrary, I think interviews would only prove them sane, logical, loyal Americans who really don’t give a crap what “color” our President is. So yeah, send in the media militia….that might be the only good idea you’ve ever had, Maxie.

    • Liberals Demise says:

      Not so fast there, ehov!
CNN did send out their camera crew but all they were interested in was picking out the fringe and aired all the nutty stuff. You think this would be a fair and just report by the “in the orifice” msm?

      Me thinks not!

    • electionhangovervictim says:

LD, I see your point…I must’ve lost my mind for a second to think the msm would be objective in their reporting. They’ve even tried to make those Acorn employees look like victims.

I did see ‘Bury Obamacare with Kennedy’ signs at the rally. With Maxine Waters 5th grade intelligence level, she likely does not know there is any difference.

  8. Georgfelis says:

    Zoom out! Zoom out!

She’s right in what she says, but not in what she means. We do need more media attention paid to the protestors, but what she is asking for here is media attention in the same way the MSM normally pays attention to any conservative movement: Smear, Distort and Lie. And the way in which she gave the statement is the template by which she wants the Media to follow. Go forth to the conservative blogs and find any quotes you can to show racism, find signs with any racist overtones you can (even if they are LaRoooosh signs), and run the story with that as the subject.

One sign I saw at the protest said it all (paraphrased): “It doesn’t matter what this sign says, you’ll call it racist anyway”

  9. Reality Bytes says:

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret ;-)

About 15 years ago, I stopped for a few minutes in the middle of Rock Center to get a soda, pretzel & take a break with reading up on the NY Post. A beautiful day it was. Until, I hear & see from the corner of my eye a guy with a microphone with his mate holding a professional video camera walk up to this lady, a white lady, sitting a few feet from me and ask, “Ma’am, what do you think about the word, “N (word)?” (Is that how it’s spelled these days? I’m not sure).

If it weren’t for her shaking so much, you could say the woman was frozen in fear. So, the guy asks again, “What do you think about the word, “N (word)?” The woman is reduced to cowering while passersby either stopped & stared or scurried away.

While I adopted the age old New Yorker “Don’t Make Eye Contact” by sticking my glance down towards my newspaper, again from the corner of my eye, I see what is surely this cretin’s shoes step over to me.

“Sir? Pardon me sir. But, what do you think of the word, “N (word)”?”

I held my stare at my paper as if my life depended on it because being that this took place during the Dinkin’s years (remember Wilding?), it might.

“What do you think of the word, “N (word)”?” He persisted, this time more forcefully. So, I looked up & for the first time see that this (punk would be a step up) holding the microphone & his colleague were two college age black kids.

After about 20 seconds I realized I was staring this kid down standing over me. So, this time I PERSISTED & GLARED AT HIM A LITTLE WHILE LONGER! What’s he going to do ask me again?

And he did, “What Do YOU think of the word “N (word)” – Sirrr?”

(OK – you asked) I thought to myself.

“I don’t know. What do you think of the word…. “N (word)”? (Except I didn’t say N – word. I repeated his words verbatim).

I thought the bigger one holding the camera was going to drop his camera.

“Well, it’s not important what I think…”, he stammered – Cutting him off while still sitting “Well obviously it is. You’re the one who came up with the question, rented that 60,000 dollar camera over there, came down here & started askin’ people what they thought of the word “N (word)”. – (except again, I didn’t say “N-word”.

“Hey hold on!” – I cut him off again while passersby seemed to have been themselves frozen where they stood with that EF Hutton “people listen” posture.

“So, now I gotta ask you again.” I said, “What do YOU think of the Word, N(word)?”- sticking to the correct punctuation.

“But I’m the interviewer.” I think spilled out. “Right.” I replied now standing up saying, “It’s a word. People use it all the time sometimes to hurt others & sometimes not. What’s your point?”

I don’t remember if he had a response or if he did what it was. Years since, I came to believe that I was prejudged by this person & his friend because I was white as much as the poor lady sitting next to me. They expected a response. I suppose I gave them one they didn’t see comin’. I didn’t use the word in a hateful way. I only used it in the same clinical context as my interviewer. For some reason because of the color of my skin, it was I who they insinuated was racist.

It really was rather liberating. I do hope it was a lesson for the kid.

“Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. “I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.“”

I always find such immaturity in politicians who refer to their opponent’s movement in pornographic terms. It shows how little the Marxists have to fight with except slurs such as racist, teabaggers, etc.

  11. wardmama4 says:

Well I was kind of for her suggestion that we get all the 9-12 protesters on & interviewed but as pointed out – since she calls them birthers (I can bet only 1-2% (at most) of the people there on 9-12 were promoting the Where’s the Birth Certificate – I mean that is so yesterday – and oh btw, it (conspiracy theory) was just nuttin to diss Jones about much less force him out of his Administration position) – but somehow when it’s on the other foot – it’s a dangerous and idiotic thing) and of course the juvenile and immature sexual reference – just shows how really hard up these people are and how unfair any ‘interview’ would be. No facts (such as in Sec 200 it says – because we all know that everything everyone accuses this Obamination of a Destroy the Current American Healthcare System & Power Grab Bill is TRUE. And they know it – and they don’t care at all about anything other than keeping the poll number for healthcare at 50.1% so that they can claim that the ‘majority’ of Americans were for it, when they pass it.

  12. canary says:

Apparently, she’s picked up on the liberal reporting being b.s. And apparently after her threat to socialize America, she has stepped up to running a gestapo like Hitler.

    • canary says:

oops, I meant Maxine Waters is stepping up the her game from socializing Americans to communizing them. Prehaps Waters is the new media CZAR. Wonder how she and husbands bank is doing after getting bail-out money. I think the media should ask her about it.
