Weiner Won’t Quit, Even If Clintons Tell Him To

From the New York Daily News:

Anthony Weiner would remain defiant even if the Clintons called for him to drop out of mayoral race

By Erin Durkin, Jennifer Fermino | July 29, 2013

Even the Clintons wouldn’t be able to convince Anthony Weiner to drop out of the New York mayoral race. The hyper-sextual candidate — whose poll standing is plunging — made it clear Monday night that he’s indifferent to the opinion of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have kept their distance from his campaign.

“I am not terribly interested in what people who are not voters in the city of New York have to say,” Weiner said in response to a question about whether the former president and secretary of state, who live in Westchester County, could influence his decision.

He said he only was thinking about New Yorkers, and “I am focused like a laser beam on their interests.”

What a burn, since the Clintons pretend to be New Yorkers. (Though, in reality, they only come to New York City to fundraise.)

The brazen comment at a mayoral forum in the Morrisania section of the Bronx came hours after a new poll showed Weiner had dropped from first to fourth place in the Democratic primary for mayor…

The Quinnipiac University poll found City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in first, at 27% of likely Democratic voters. Weiner had a meager 16% — a 10-point drop from a Quinnipiac poll taken before last week…

Weiner dismissed the findings. “Polls don’t change anything,” he said…

Did he say "polls" or "poles"?

Meanwhile, speaking of polls we have this from U.S. News and World Report:

Poll: 78 Percent of Young Women Approve of Weiner

By Emily Stanton | July 29, 2013

Anthony Weiner loves the ladies, and apparently they love him back. Sugar daddy dating website SeekingArrangement.com found that 78 percent of female clients aged 18-26 approve of Weiner.

The website, which connects wealthy patrons with attractive clients, surveyed over 18,000 of its female members and discovered that 63 percent of all women surveyed approved of the New York City mayoral hopeful, with the highest approval ratings coming from the 18-26 demographic…

A breakdown of SeekingArrangement.com’s stats reveals a 35 percent approval rate (1,833 approve out of 5,287 surveyed) for women 27-34 and 21 percent approval (327 approve out of 1,094 surveyed) from women 35 and older.

This shouldn’t be too surprising. Ms. Sidney Leathers was herself a regular visitor to ‘Sugar Daddy’ websites.

"Weiner has a way with women, as shown by our sugar babies’ approval rating," said Brandon Wade, Founder and CEO of SeekingArrangement.com. "Regardless of popular belief, not all women are turned off by Weiner. With a 78 percent approval rating, the mayoral candidate clearly has a hold of the younger female vote."

We’re not so sure that these women are typical of all young women.

So, why do younger women love Weiner? Power. Women rated power his most attractive quality. Second place was his occupation followed by intelligence, money and looks…

Yes, we are always told that men are shallow about looks. But it turns out that women are shallow about power and money and looks.

  1. Rusty Shackleford says:

What we appear to be seeing is, in the current set of margins, such as they are, the worst of human behavior.

However, in reality, this is really nothing new. Throughout human history, the failings of people in power or those who desire it have raised the eyebrows of many in the general populace. This gives rise to cries about the ever-present double-standard. We, the people are expected to behave. When we don’t we are punished but the powerful system that we live under.

Yet the people who wield that power have no such compunction about acting up and usually deflect, obscure or flat out lie about it. (“I did not have sexual relations with that woman…Miss Lewinsky.”)

When people who hold power behave that way, it’s easy to lose faith in humanity.

*Side note: Whenever I get into a discussion about Clinton and other presidents, I often say, “Well, Reagan was never known to engage in sordid behavior in the oval office” and the most common retort, from leftists is, “That you know> of.

    C’mon. Seriously?

Interestingly, time is on the side of the conservative. Kennedy, Johnson, Clinton all had peculiar sexual appetites which dovetail into their cravings for power. It’s Romanesque, if you like. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush, and W were never known to be promiscuous or unfaithful to their wives.

Thus, the argument about the scorpion comes to light. “It’s what I do.” , said the scorpion to its ill-fated passenger.

There are people who can maintain standards and there are people who, not only cannot maintain them, but also who feel they shouldn’t have to. When they get caught, they whine and carry on like a petulant child.

The final note is that the women who were married to these men had to be of very peculiar sensibilities. Jackie was either ignorant or willfully blind. She never struck me as the sharpest pencil in the box so maybe that’s it right there. Lady Bird Johnson acknowledged her husband’s voracious sexual appetite for young female aides but simply said he needed to do that to release pressure from the job. Hitlery? Well…an abandonment of Bill over such behavior would undermine all the political investment that they have built and probably destroy her chances of ever being anything in government again.

At the very base of it, it’s purely narcissistic behavior. The addiction of same drives the frontal lobe into accepting a reality that is warped and that most people would never contemplate, let alone tolerate.

So…who’s to say what’s normal? I think the vast majority of Americans who see their political leaders as nothing more than spoiled teenage brats is probably a good start. The nice thing about it is, the political leaders want nothing to do with me, except taking my money and I have no interest and know I’ll never interact with them, for anything, on a personal level.

They are a curious, degenerate slice of humanity. But when you get right down to it, they have no job skills, no talent or creativity and cannot think about anything but themselves and how to make it appear that they have “done something”.

Weiner had best be careful lest he be found to have committed suicide in Ft. Marcy Park.

I just think people on TV. like to say the word Weiner. Come on! Oscar Meyer, think big and get a grip. Sales, sales ,sales. Now switching from gold, to hotdog investments. Things seem to be trending up. Clinton-vile brat-worst vows stiff competition. Meanwhile, all hands are on Weiner. Bad investments
for today, anything with a (D) from New York. Just remember….. it’s your money!……….
