US Claims Russia Leaked Nuland’s ‘FU EU’ Call

From the Associated Press:

US sees Russian hand in envoy’s bugged call

By MATTHEW LEE | February 6, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — Two senior American diplomats, thinking their conversation about the Ukraine was secure and private, were caught disparaging the European Union in a phone call that was apparently bugged, and U.S. officials say they strongly suspect Russia of leaking the conversation.

Huh. Say, did the Russkies also leak the news that Victoria Nuland ordered the intelligence reports on the Benghazi to be edited to as to protect Hillary? Which was a far more important story than this nonsense. And yet it got almost no attention from our news media.

The suspicions were aired Thursday after audio of the call was posted to the Internet and amid continuing criticism of the United States in Europe and elsewhere over NSA spying on foreign leaders and U.S…

The White House and State Department stopped just short of directly accusing Russia of surreptitiously recording the call between the top US diplomat for Europe, Victoria Nuland, and the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt…

By the way, the AP and the rest of the news media never mention it, but it is also NSA’s job to protect the secret communications of US government officials. (COMSEC.) Maybe our news media don’t even know that. It wouldn’t surprise us.

White House spokesman Jay Carney pointed to [an] Russian official’s tweet and Russia’s clear interest in what has become a struggle between pro-Moscow and pro-Western camps in the former Soviet Republic.

"I would say that since the video was first noted and tweeted out by the Russian government, I think it says something about Russia’s role," Carney told reporters. He would not comment on the substance of the conversation, in which the Nuland and Pyatt voices also discuss their opinion of various Ukrainian opposition figures.

In the audio, voices resembling those of Nuland and Pyatt discuss international efforts to resolve Ukraine’s ongoing political crisis. At one point, the Nuland voice colorfully suggests that the EU’s position should be ignored. "F— the EU," the female voice said…

Note how far down the AP buries this juicy detail. Which is the only fun part of the story. (And the first time we have ever seen eye to eye with Ms. Nuland.)

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki did not dispute the authenticity of the recording and said that Nuland had apologized to European Union officials for her remarks. Psaki said, however, that Moscow’s apparent role in publicizing the video was "a new low in Russian tradecraft."

Then Ms. Psaki is an idiot. This is nothing. Russian ‘tradecraft’ includes cutting people they don’t like into tiny pieces, and sending the pieces, one by one, to family members.

The YouTube video was posted on Feb. 4 and is titled the "Marionettes of Maidan" in Russian. Maidan is the name of the main square in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, which has become the center of opposition protests…

The Russians are so subtle.

What an utterly clear disrespect Russia has for the United States and its ineffective President. Were it not something that was entirely forseen and preventable in both 2008 and 2012, I would be upset.

No, no, no .. don’t look over there .. look over here ..

After years of monitoring the communications of US citizens, Congressmen, judges, foreign sovereigns, their diplomats, etc., this administration is now somehow able to manage a level of indignation that somebody did the same thing to them?

Just imagine how outraged our political class would be if they were suddenly subject to everything they’ve been doing to everybody else. We’ve already seen their illegal maneuvers to avoid being subject to the obamacare law that they claim is so wonderful for the rest of us.

With the rash of reports ObamaCare site has malicious software and is insecure, they have Magic Johnson on television telling people to sign up at the “newest” health care site and promises people will literally feel they are experiencing real “magic.” Someone needs to tell him people don’t believe pigs can fly and lizards can talk English.

Sorry. Nuland’s comments make her apology meaningless. Makes you wonder what remarks she made behind closed doors as to 4 dead Americans murdered by terrorists in Benghazi and makes destroy her apology This ruins her apology and makes you wonder what the beech said about 4 dead Americans

“I will not comment on a private diplomatic conversation,” Nuland told reporters in Kiev on Friday.
“It was pretty impressive tradecraft,” she added. “Audio quality was very good.”

While America’s media reports of peaceful protests in Benghazi over new leadership to make it appear Libya was a success, middle-east news is reporting the Benghazi television channel Ahrar was bombed.

Just hours before Islamic extremists were seen throwing a bomb onto a playground where children were playing at recess injuring 12 children, some in critical conditions.

Middle-Eastern news reported attacks by former rebels now extremists daily for several months.

The interim leader was kidnapped for several hours and the Deputy industry minister was assassinated in Kadhafi’s hometown, while a convoy carrying the interior minister came under attack last week.

But, then nearly all the media is avoiding the words Benghazi and Libya at all costs and you can’t trust the middle-east news.
