WH Hid $105B Funding For Obama-Care

From the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune:

Bachmann accuses White House of hiding billions in health bill

Instead of answering questions on "Meet the Press," she launched into attacks on Obama administration.

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann had a point to make Sunday morning, and no question was going to stop her.

Appearing on NBC’s "Meet the Press," Bachmann bypassed host David Gregory’s questions about a government shutdown and House Speaker John Boehner to attack the Obama administration with her claim that it hid $105 billion in "advance appropriations" in last year’s health care bill.

Ms. Bachmann says that "her claim" was revealed by a Congressional Research Service report. Funny that the article doesn’t mention that.

Still, how scandalous that Ms. Bachman did not waste her time speculating on some improbable ‘government shutdown’ — that would not even be a shutdown. And that she instead brought up a significant and previously unreported fact.

What a terrible embarrassment for a news program.

"I think this deception that the president and [former House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader Harry] Reid put forward with appropriating over $105 billion needs to be given back to the people," the Minnesota Republican said, though it’s debatable just how secret the money, appropriated by the last Congress, really was.

Really? "It’s debatable"? Who else knew that the ‘healthcare reform’ mandated $105 billion dollars in funding that had to be allocated by the next Congress?

Bachmann, weighing a 2012 presidential run, also did not back off previous statements that the president holds "anti-American views" and the administration is a "gangster government."

"I do believe that actions that have been taken by this White House — I don’t take back my statements on gangster government," she said. "I think that there have been actions taken by the government that are corrupt."

And her "anti-American" comment back in 2008?

"I said I have very serious concerns about the president’s views, and I think the president’s actions in the last two years speak for themselves," she said.

What perfect responses.

When Bachmann was asked whether Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi should be removed from power, she launched into a critique of Obama before hinting at her views on the unrest.

"The president’s response at minimum was lacking," Bachmann said. "We need to send a very strong signal. I’m concerned about the signals the president sent."

Wow, she really "launched" there. (Not.)

"My question," Gregory interrupted, "is it in America’s vital interest to remove Moammar Gadhafi from power?"

Ms. Bachmann is a member of the lowly House of Representatives. Why doesn’t Mr. Gregory ever ask our Commander In Chief these kind of questions?

"That question I think is one, as Defense Secretary [Robert] Gates has said, we need to be very careful about putting an army on the ground in the Middle East," Bachmann said.

"We are extended now in Afghanistan and Iraq, and I think for us to consider further penetration at this time, we need to listen to Gen. Petraeus and what he has to say."

Another very sensible response.

By the way, speaking of ‘hiding billions,’ David Gregory is married to Beth Wilkinson, who served as the vice president of Fannie Mae from February 2006 until September 2008. She was also Fannie Mae’s general counsel and corporate secretary.

Her compensation from Fannie Mae has yet to be disclosed.

We’re seeing a very brave and patriotic individual in Michelle Bachmann. She knows the stakes are huge, and she’ll be crushed if we don’t all come to her aid and back her up. Only a deep love of country and the American people can account for passion.

The wheels on the bus – are falling off.

Thank God that someone labeled GOP – has the guts to speak the truth.

In this economy – $105 billion required for another slush fund for the DNC?!? Come on fiscally responsible Boehner & Mcconnell – where are your voices – or haven’t you had time to read the CRS report – too busy making back room deals to keep your cushy jobs, but pretending to do something?!?

    God Help America

Then slash the budget by 10% – it’s a start

Then Drill Here, Drill Now – maybe just maybe America can survive.

    Can’t say it any better.

“The Obama Misery Index and the Rise of Obamavilles” is the best blog post I’ve read in a long time. This is why President Obama will be a one-term president! http://t.co/hhFr73z

I can’t recommend this piece highly enough. This will be all the ammo we’ll need when talking to other voters during the 2012 general election.

You know, the Obam Misery Index sounds like a good idea, but there’s something about shills for candidates not announcing themselves when they post on a website like this that bugs me.

I don’t have anything particular against Romney, but I’d just as soon you announce that you are on his campaign team when you post here.

If you don’t, just speaking for myself personally, it makes me LESS likely to support Mitt, not more likely.

Isn’t Obamaville a Rush Limbaugh creation?

I don’t like shills for candidates either – GOP or DNC or Ron Paulites.

I don’t like the Obama Misery Index – because it is simply the opposite of the state run media – cooking the unemployment numbers for the President – a matter of semantics to mislead and distort for political gain.

Obama & the Administration and the 110th Congress – lied, cheated, wheeled and dealed to get un-Constitutional, illegal and financially devastating ‘laws’ onto the books to destroy America, turn it into a 3rd world socialist cesspool on their merry ways to OneGlobalWorld domination (which only will be hilarious to watch the muslim one World Caliphate jihadies and the socialistic OneGlobalWorld peace, love and kumbyah petty dictator wanna-bes duke it out) with the elites in control of everyone.

Sad is – they really think that all the dole layabouts are going to work/fight for them – or anyone not a hard-core muslim jihadist will be left to do any work.

That is the problem with impulsive juveniles/cultists in power – they never, ever think a damn thing through to it’s logical, historically prove conclusions – and the adults have to come in and clean up after them and millions of good people get killed in their ‘revolutions’ and ‘cleansing’.

    • tranquil.night says:

Yes, both the Obama Misery Index and Obamavilles were Rushisms, along with Imam Pharoah Barack Hoover Obama, which is the official nomenclature that Romney should employ if he wants to court my vote.

It’s a shame he wants to play the language game rather than have a candid discussion about the issues Conservatives have with him. It isn’t in the best interest of the party or country to campaign that way. It’s tried and tired.

To this day I’d give very good odds that not a single congressman has read the entire health care bill. Who knows what other goodies are hidden in it?
