WH Press Corp Slam Carney For Lack Of Access

From the Washington Examiner:

White House press corps slams Jay Carney on access to Obama

… During his daily briefing [on Thursday], reporters slammed White House press secretary Jay Carney with questions on why independent news journalists were not afforded opportunities to photograph Obama during the lengthy Air Force One trips to and from a memorial service for Nelson Mandela.

The White House only released photos aboard Air Force One taken by official White House photographer Pete Souza…

With all the recent scandals in the Obama White House, from Fast & Furious to Benghazi, to the IRS and NSA, to the DOJ spying on reporters — this is what the White House Press Corps decides to get upset about? Not being able to take photos of their dear leader?

Accompanying Obama on the trip [to South Africa] were former President George W. Bush, first lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“For a lot of those hours, the president, former president, first lady and the former first lady were asleep, so we probably weren’t going to bring in a still pool for that, or they were having dinner or something like that,” said Carney…

Yeah, but they could have gotten photos of Obama and Michelle and also of Hillary! Maybe even in their pajamas!

The Associated Press’ director of photography Santiago Lyon in a New York Times op-ed also blasted the White House media practices as “Orwellian image control” and said that official administration photographs were similar to “propaganda.” …

What unintentional irony. After all, the AP isn’t upset about the official White House photographer producing propaganda for the Obama administration. They are only upset that they aren’t being allowed to help.

In fact, they are just mad because they think they could do a better job of propagandizing for Obama.

Thank goodness we did not get a photo of Hillary in her jammies and
morning hair. It would have qualified for the Ugliest Thing I Ever Saw
since the Official Portrait of Lyndon Baines Johnson!
