WH ‘Science’ Director: Polar Vortex Proves AGW

From the Politico:

W.H. science director knocks climate change skeptics

By MATT DAILY | 1/8/14

John Holdren, the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology, took on climate change skeptics Wednesday in a video released on YouTube saying the cold weather that swept across the United States this week doesn’t mean that global warming is a myth.

In fact, this video has been posted on the official White House blog.

“If you’ve been hearing that extreme cold spells like the one we’re having in the United States now disprove global warming, don’t believe it,” Holdren says in the video. “The fact is that no single weather episode can either prove or disprove global climate change.”

Unless it’s a hot weather episode, which proves man-made global warming every time.

Holdren points out that temperatures in the Arctic have been rising at about double the pace of temperatures at the mid-latitudes, where the continental United States lies. And he cites research that theorizes the shrinking difference between the Arctic temperatures and the mid-latitudes is making it more likely that incursions of that frigid air from the “polar vortex” will happen more frequently in the future…

So it turns out that this ‘single weather episode’ does prove climate change, after all. And in fact Mr. Holder predicts that Polar Vortexes will occur more frequently in the future.

And if they don’t, nobody will be so rude as to remind him of his fallacious fear-mongering.

“Unless it’s a hot weather episode, which proves man-made global warming every time.”

The one that befuddles me is summer wilfires in the High Sierra or Yellowstone, or even near Prescott, AZ. Though they are certainly seasonal, they are far from climatic, except that perhaps they’ve been part of the “climate” for millenia.

But the “climate scientists” spouting these fires as signs of “climate change” need to have their crayons taken away. Indeed, the Earth may be getting warmer. But this is no reason to submit the populace of the planet to scathing retribution for owning/driving a car that gets less than 30mpg or doesn’t run on coal.

One has to remember that the national socialists’ “fix” for everything is to have people spend YOUR money on it and thus, nirvana/utopia can be attained. But in 1830, we burned wood and the well-off went places by horse. Whale oil fueled our need for light in our homes but the poor (you & me) would be in bed by the time it went dark out.

Our ability to manipulate our environment has resulted in both good and bad human behavior but I will submit that bad human behavior is inherent to our species. But not to get too far from my point, bad human behavior has been around since Cain & Able at least and probably before that. Socialists, just as much. There will always be people who want to fix the world with someone else’s money.

Whale oil & wax, that is.

    • Well, once this is all behind us and the ‘science’ proved to be so much poppycock and conflabulation of perjurometers, the dependency-stabulators of the Fourth Reich will have nothing left to them but online porn and relentless masturbation …

all the cold arctic air went south for the winter to the antarctic which is experiencing record cold.
and trapping global warming fanatics in cold irony.
