What Media Bias? - “Democrat Halo” Effect

From her fans at Reuters:

U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) speaks to voters at a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 10, 2007. REUTERS/Brian Snyder

This being from Reuters, who knows if that halo was even there or if it was only photoshopped in later?

Of course this is hardly the first time our one party media have treated Hillary with such piety.

Another recent example, from among dozens:

Nor do the media restrict this blessing to Ms. Clinton. They confer it on any Democrat:

Or small:

Indeed, they will confer sanctification on any of their heroes:

As long as they are on their side.

I remember the first time I noticed these photographic tricks by the MSM was during the BJ Clinton / Bush Sr campaign. Whenever you saw a picture of Clinton in the newspaper, he always had a big smile, waving to the crowd, upbeat, energetic. Whenever they showed a picture of Bush Sr, he always looked like he was angry or frowning, tired, downtrodden. My friends and I would grab a free copy of the USA Today that they put out in the airport and check out the pictures on a daily basis.

Those images will forever be “seared” into my memory, unlike Burple Heart winner Kerry and his fallacious memories of not yet in office President Nixon ordering him into Cambodia Dec, 1968.

Now RW, you know the LSM is not biased, just ask them. [(;>)

Somewhere it is written (maybe in the Koran or on the walls of Stamps Ltd) if you can’t lick em join em. The GOP needs to get clever also and paint interesting back drops for its speakers- perhaps a beautiful sunset, a rainbow, the capitol with fireworks shooting all around it so that the speaker has flashes of fireworks around his head when he stands in front of it. All it takes is a little imagination or ingenuity which somehow the staid old party seems to lack. If the MSM seems to be against you then it is up to you to outsmart or outflank them.

I agree with RD wholeheartedly…….the problem is…the media will NEVER do that willingly, and the only way to portray a Republican candidate in a positive light will be live feeds that cannot be easily manipulated. The MSM will do whatever it takes to keep Republican conservatives out of office…..and the fact that they have half the nation as a dullard wistless do what they are told electorate just makes it easier.

Pelosi is hell bent on silencing blogs like this one….and if she has her way, we will be the new criminals of the 21st century….and labeled subversives, ect ect by the very people who are forgetting the conservative base that has kept this country free since it’s inception. Democrats…liberals….and the leftists that feed them will succeed as long as conservative voices in this country are muzzled effectively. The television and the radio are 80% liberal now….and the press is 99.99999999% leftist subversive as we speak.

Only those of us willing to do what ever is necessary to keep this country free will keep it from becoming just another European colony rife with muslim extremists who will take advantage of the weakness exposed by our democrats……and our democrats will be the first ones howling for protection from those of us labeled “dangerous extremists” before they were being lined up at the beheading pits, astounded that “talks” didnt sway them from their mission of total annihilation of western society.

I am ready, have been for years. Who’s yer daddy now, Nancy? You leather faced string tight lunatic…..wake the eff up. The country isnt just San Fransico….and you are about to learn a hard hard lesson on world opinion….they hate your guts! Better remember that as you distance yourself from the only people who will save your sorry ass when it hits the fan…..because you may find yourself on your own. Literally.

I got a feeling there is going to be a lot of selective saving going on.
    Saves on ammo.

When it happens…and it will….those who exposed us to danger will find themselves banging on the shelter doors to get let in….and not hearing any lock click open. Open season on traitors…collaborators…enablers….and the haters.

Then things will calm down a bit when the herd has been culled of those who constantly let the wolves in the corral, and bleat loudly about how they had to because of the leadership, and weep at the ensuing carnage. I always remembered that people in the reticle never complained about what came next.

You got it my friend. They will be taking fire from both sides, and talking never stopped a bullet.

I don’t see any halo. All I see is a moon and a bat.

If you are stocking up on ammo, rememeber to always pay in cash. You do not want the FBI to show up at your door, it happens.

I almost forgot, and do not forget the rules for a gunfight:

    1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.
    2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap - life is expensive.
    3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.
    4. If your shooting stance is good, you’re probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
    5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)
    6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.
    7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
    8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.
    9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on “pucker factor” than the inherent accuracy of the gun. Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. “All skill is in vain when an Angel blows the powder from the flintlock of your musket.”
    10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.
    11. Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
    12. Have a plan.
    13. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won’t work.
    14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.
    15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
    16. Don’t drop your guard.
    17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.
    18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them.)
    19. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
    20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.
    21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
    22. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.
    23. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
    24. Do not attend a gun fight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with anything smaller than “4″.
    25. You can’t miss fast enough to win.

The top photo could hardly be considered flattering. Her head continues to resemble a rapidly drying blob of Bisquick.

“Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people — a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs, and who, by their joint counsels, arms, and efforts, fighting side by side throughout a long and bloody war, have nobly established their general liberty and independence.” — John Jay

  12. The Redneck

It doesn’t just go one way. Remember NBC blocking “Working Families” with a shot of Bush so that the screen displayed Bush’s face and the word “lies”?

And the decision of Ashcroft’s aides to cover the nekkid statues wasn’t because they were indecent but because the media thought it was hilarious to fix the angle so their picture of Ashcroft included a giant bronze tit over his head.

Granted, it’s not as bad as their refusal to mention the WMD found in Iraq, their constant repitition of Joe Wilson’s lies, their faking photographs of Israel’s battles with Hezbollah, and their slander in general, but it’s definitely an irritant.

Sheehan, wait’ll they pass the FAIR act again. They’ll have too hard a time with the Internet, but talk radio’s going to face some problems.

  13. sheehanjihad

That photo with Hillary was shopped from a toilet bowl…and appropriately placed…..I will rue the day when Sweetness and Light starts experiencing “technical problems” while the dems giggle as their geeks go to it.

Rush always likes to point out the “Is Rush Limbaugh Good For America?” Time cover where he was darkened and evil looking smoke put in rising from his cigar.

Just remember who transformed himself into an angel of light. Don’t be ascared……
