Media’s Idea Of Non-Partisan Watchdogs

From USA Today:

Watchdog wants Va. hours extended

By: Mark Memmott and Jill Lawrence

The nonpartisan Election Protection Coalition says it is going to call on Virginia officials to extend the state’s voting hours by 2 hours because of hundreds of reports it has received about long lines and problems at the polls. As of now, Virginia’s polls are set to close at 7 p.m. ET.

About Us

The nonpartisan Election Protection coalition was formed to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to participate in the political process.

Through our state of the art hotlines: 1-866-OUR-VOTE (administered by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law) and 1-888-Ve-Y-Vota (administered by the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Education Fund), this website, and comprehensive voter protection field programs across the country, we provide Americans from coast to coast with comprehensive voter information and advice on how they can make sure their vote is counted.

We have occasion to mention to mention the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law numerous times before.

They are another vote fraud organization akin to ACORN.

Here is our recent posting about the LCCR’s successful efforts to allow people who do not even have proof of residence to vote.

Here is what Discover The Networks says about LCCR:

Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

1401 New York Avenue NW, Suite 400
Washington, DC 20005

Phone: 202-662-8600

    * Uses the courts to bypass the electorate and its officials in order to gain what it perceives as desirable and “just” outcomes
    * Supports racial preferences and racially gerrymandered voting districts
    * Opposes Patriot Act and other anti-terrorism security measures

Today LCCR uses the courts to mandate race-based affirmative action preferences in business and academia. Its “major objective” is “to use the skills and resources of the bar to obtain equal opportunity for minorities by addressing factors that contribute to racial justice and economic opportunity.” “Given our nation’s history of racial discrimination, de jure segregation, and the de facto inequities that persist,” LCCR elaborates, “the Lawyers’ Committee’s primary focus is to represent the interest of African Americans in particular, other racial and ethnic minorities, and other victims of discrimination, where doing so can help to secure justice for all racial and ethnic minorities.” …

LCCR’s many affiliate offices have filed briefs against the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to limit the wholesale granting of green cards and to identify potential terrorists. The organization has also opposed measures to guarantee that airport security screeners are U.S. citizens. Many individual members of LCCR are members of the Lawyers’ Committee on Human Rights, which has consistently criticized the Patriot Act and America’s handling of military prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. Other members of LCCR are affiliated with the American Civil Liberties Union (with which LCCR is often joined in amicus curiae briefs) and the Center for International Rights…

LCCR also endorsed the 2001 “Statement of Solidarity with Migrants,” which was drawn up by the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and called upon the U.S. government to “[r]ecognize the contribution of immigrant workers, students, and families, and [to] end discriminatory policies passed on the basis of legal status.” Moreover, LCCR endorsed the Civil Liberties Restoration Act of 2004, which was designed to roll back, in the name of protecting civil liberties, vital national-security policies that had been adopted after the 9/11 terrorist attacks…

But this is what passes for a non-partisan election watchdog according to our non-partisan watchdog media.

More stuff needed to be put in bold font, I skipped over almost all of this.

  2. Yup. The first red flag for me is usually ‘non-partisan group’.

It’s almost always code for ‘LEFT TURN ONLY’.

And what is it with these leftist and their continuous bleating for exceptions or ignorance of EVERY RULE?

I guess that’s why these moonbats clamor so vigorously for mob rule! The only rule they don’t want excepted.

(lot’s of ‘bold’ for btown. You’re welcome)

I definitely got it, locomotive! Thanks :)

And yeah, just the idea of “non-partisan media” in general is a ridiculous joke. Information can be controlled on every level, from the blather you hear on the news to the truncated gloss you read about your states’ propositions in the voting booth. That’s why 24/7 news has become nothing but oversaturated cross-talk, because opinion fills up time and sells.

Blah blah, more cynicism. I’ll stop here.

    Did everyone vote?!
