A more reasonable response would have been to send them back to the Church that sent them with a letter saying that soldiers can’t try to convert muslims while on active duty in a war zone.

The church then could have sent them to a missionary in the middle east that could use them. Book burning is always bad.

Destroying the Bible was “appropriate”, according to these folks, because we all know that every single problem and struggle the world has ever had – plus every instance of oppression and tyranny – is caused by those pesky Christians (/sarcasm).

According to Islam, the Bible is a holy book, Christ was a prophet, and neither are to be treated with disrespect. While I was living in Pakistan it was forbidden to even put the Bible on the floor because the floor is dirty and the Bible is a holy book. So, I wonder why destroying the Bibles is considered the appropriate thing to do. I also wonder when people will come to realize that a religion that preaches love, life, and freedom to choose is far supperior to a religion that preaches death, dominance, and hate.
Of course I want to convert all muslims to Christianity. Some of my reasons are selfish, for example: I want women to stop being abused in the name of Islam, no more female circumcision, no more “honor” killings, no more forced marriages (especially of 8 year old little girls), and no more possessed people trying to blow up others who just want to ilve a peaceful life and be free to make their own decisions about their faith and their life.
I also would prefer the people running GITMO would play the Bible on tape 24 hours a day instead of Britney Spears and take away the detainees’ ability to practice their own faith. Sorry, but if you are tossing feces at the guards we are taking away your prayer rug, your Koran, and we are piping in 24-7 Alister Begg in your native tongue.

Well, thank God for those Chaplains who destroyed those bibles. I feel better now.
