White House Threatens Sotomayor Critics

From C-SPAN via YouTube:

I think it is probably important for anybody involved in this debate to be exceedingly careful with the way in which they’ve decided to describe different aspects of this impending confirmation.

This is from the same administration that tells us Mr. Obama is all for free and open discussion.

So ……….. how’s your piece of ‘Hope & Change’ doing so far?
    Mine sucks!!

  2. JohnMG says:

Gibbs would be thoroughly entertaining if he weren’t such a dweeb. Just how fairly was Judge Bork treated? How about Justice Thomas? These two come immediately to mind.

Souter was nominated by a Republican, and we all know how well that worked out. Are we supposed to replace him with someone equally devoid of common sense just because his less-than-stellar performance set a precedence for mediocrity on the court? Using the democrats’ own litmus, vis a vis Alito and Roberts, Sotomayor should already have voluntarily withdrawn from contention. Such a double-standard is mind-numbing.

Gibbs is even more disgusting than the Moron.

He would look better with his face in the dirt.

But I shouldn’t say that, because I think he is retarded.

Now, Now………..Barry has employed a lot of Jerrys’ Kids and some are doing pretty good. Why just the other day Joe said something funny about Barry ALL by himself!

  4. 12 Gauge Rage says:

When you as a citizen can’t criticize public officials without fear of reprisal then your country has taken a severe turn for the worst.

    • Barbie says:

this is a thugocracy. Barry can’t lead or command. He can lie and intimidate and threaten. It’s what his administration is all about. Gibbs is the thug’s mouthpiece. Gibbs is about as attractive as a hairball and he obviously has some ‘special’ limitations when it comes to the truth..

If someone (D, R, I) does not stand up and say No Won’t/can’t do this at all in America – then I do not think that America is long for this World.

Then we have the story here on S & L about the SEIU attempting to force a network to not run a paid advertisement – about a political stance that they disagree with.

    And finally we have this

Update on Recovery Act Lobbying Rules: New Limits on Special Interest Influence
Another update from Norm Eisen, special counsel to the president for ethics and government reform, in the spirit of transparency as always:

I am writing with an update on the President’s March 20, 2009 Memorandum on Ensuring Responsible Spending of Recovery Act Funds. Section 3 of the Memorandum required all oral communications between federally registered lobbyists and government officials concerning Recovery Act policy to be disclosed on the Internet; barred registered lobbyists from having oral communications with government officials about specific Recovery Act projects or applications and instead required those communications to be in writing; and also required those written communications to be posted on the Internet. That Memorandum instructed the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to review the initial 60 days of implementation of the stimulus lobbying restrictions, to evaluate the data, and to recommend modifications.

Following OMB’s review, the Administration has decided to make a number of changes to the rules that we think make them even tougher on special interests and more focused on merits-based decision making.

First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover all persons, not just federally registered lobbyists.[emphasis added WM] For the first time, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also by unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program.

God Help America unless/until someone has the guts to stand up to The One ™

[I think that ACORN and it’s newest problem – embezzlement/money shuffling and of course their always present election fraud – just might be the card that when pulled from the stack that will tumble this fake, fraud, empty suit Teleprompter Precedent. I just hope that someone with a little power and clout can come to the aid of Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly , the NYTs reporter and most importantly protect those courageous ACORN people who have had the guts and integrity to expose what is going on. Take a hard look Steele, RNC, GOP and Rs in DC – this is what being an American is about – risking it all for Truth, what is Right and the good of the American people.]

    • proreason says:

      Beck might do it.

      O’Reilly isn’t going to risk his franchise. He’s a true believer……..in himself.
