The key to the Obama campaign is how he has left himself so vague and hard to pin down. People read into a potential Obama presidency anything they want to see, whether it be an agent of "change", the culmination of the civil rights movement, or sticking to the evil Republicans.

Many people like me were born after the heyday of the leftist radicals, and it's hard to see what they really wanted to make of the world. They hated everything, and wanted to tear it all down, with little thought on how they would manage the new Utopia.

Today the old radicals have all sold out, taken jobs, and play revolutionary on the weekends. The younger crowd seem like the antithesis of the bitter gun clingers Obama remarked about a while back. Their whole lives are dominated by living to an inflexible code, buying only who natural products untainted by corporations, refusing to shop at mainstream stores, listening to only the right kinds of music, being green and environmentally friendly in every manner and form, and doing everything possible to disavow themselves of a hidden guilt for the way they see the world about them.

They really believe all the world's problems are because of the U.S.. That if we drop our guns everyone else will, that if we open our coffers the rest of the world will be glad to share. Underneath is a simmering resentment for anyone different from them, people who question their views, who don't see the world in such black and white terms. Are they going to lead us into a modern day revival of the sixties? Hardly, just like the phony and commercial replays of Woodstock that day has passed.

Instead they will likely destroy us by their ignorance, until the day comes when that safe and politically correct line of work isn't there anymore, or when the country they hate but are in no hurry to leave has changed into the socialist quagmire they want to see. Do I want them to keep quiet? Hardly, the more people who know what they think the better. Tell it all and tell it loud.
